  1. This is going to be a very tough year to select 6 people from a rather large list. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers want to get D'Vo some more playing time this year and he goes instead of Taylor. I normally don't like to send catchers for more playing time but you have to reward Coulter for what he has done this year with something like this. If not Coulter I would put Denson in his place or McFarland. Victor Roache is another player I could see the Brewers wanting to see more out of this year though they may just send him to instructional instead or to one of the winter leagues. Arcia like Coulter needs to be rewarded for the year that he is having. Tough decisions and the pitching side is even tougher especially with innings limits. I would go with sending these 6 to the AFL. OF Tyrone Taylor C Clint Coulter SS Orlando Arcia RP Damien Magnifico SP Tyler Cravy SP Jorge Lopez
  2. I believe the Cardinals have walked away from the trade talks with the Rays for Price and have now moved onto getting Hamels. I believe the Cardinals were told that they would not get a window to sign Price long term and have now backed out of the Price sweepstakes and are no longer in the running for Price. The Dodgers have also made it clear that Pederson is not available and are also out of the Price trade talks. That leaves a few teams left to trade for Price which includes the Brewers, Cubs, Mariners, and a surprise team probably the Pirates get involved. I believe the Pirates are going to be the team that lands Price and I can see them dealing him to the Mariners in the off season for Walker and another prospect. I believe the deal will be Bell, Kingman, and Jacoby Jones. The Pirates have enough OF depth that they can trade Bell and Jones. The best part of this trade for the Pirates is that they don't even trade their best prospect in the deal.
  3. Carp at a minimum is going to cost a top 10 prospect in the Brewers system. That is just a bad idea as the Brewers would have to release him after the year as his salary would be way to high. Boston can afford the increase in his salary from arbitration so they are not going to release him. At a minimum it is going to cost someone like Wagner, Jungmann, or Lopez for Carp. There is no chance the Red Sox give up Carp for someone lik Kintzler.
  4. Lester is another possibilty that the Brewers could be in on.
  5. Hart has a wRC+ of 79 Reynolds has wRC+ of 96 wRC+ takes into consideration park and league adjustments. Reynolds is by far better than Hart is this year. If you like WAR Hart currently has a -0.6 while Reynolds has a 1.6. If you want to go even further than that Hart has a slash line of .214/.295/.332 and Reynolds has a slash line of .208/.302/.405. Hart is only leading Reynolds in average and it is not all that much while Reynolds is destroying Hart in Slugging. I want no part of Hart on the Brewers unless you are talking about trading Herrera or someone similar to him for Hart.
  6. He is very serious about the clogger thing.
  7. I would rather trade for Papelbon over Lee honestly. Less prospects will have to be traded if the Brewers take on the majority of Papelbon's contract. I would rather give up a low end prospect than multiple prospects for Lee.
  8. Schumaker is going to go 5-5 with 3 HR's all of them 2 or 3 run shots.
  9. Josh has Jeffress success so far this year had anything to do with being in a familiar surrounding with the Brewers organization? It seems as though Jeffress has found himself again though he wasn't pitching all that bad with the Blue Jays earlier this year and I am still a little dumbfounded why they designated him. Hopefully he continues his success with the big league club.
  10. I see nothing wrong with that rant. Unless you hate the truth then I guess there is something wrong with the rant. It was not a good start by Walker and when you are the #1 prospect for a team and you are a highly regarded prospect like it or not there is going to be more pressure on that prospect.
  11. There is no way Matheny was not going to start Wainwright I think every manager would start their starter given the chance to. Should help the Brewers at least a little bit.
  12. Jeter just won the All Star MVP with a double and a run scored! Not sure if I should put that in blue or not?
  13. The Brewers do not need another starting pitcher. The Brewers need a 1B and a 4th OF and possibly another bench bat but if the Brewers can get a decent 1B Reynolds is not that bad of a bench bat. The Brewers also need bullpen help more than they need another starter. Plus if the Brewers were to trade for Hamels at a minimum it is going to cost Nelson and one of Coulter, Arcia, or Taylor plus some lower grade prospects.
  14. So where does Wade go? He is obviously not a 1a player in the NBA any more and I doubt he is even a #2 on most teams. He would have to sign with a team that already has a superstar on the team but where would that be?
  15. The body issue always gets big press. Usually because of some female athlete that poses "naked" for it. You mean like Hilary Knight of the US Womens hockey team also of the Badgers womens hockey team? NSFW?
  16. That is going to be a near impossible trade to pull off for any team.
  17. ? Coulter is 1 for his last 21 and still has an OPS north of .900, that's special regardless of position... and he's 20 years old in full season ball. What do people seriously expect? [sarcasm]1.000 OPS with a .400 average with plus plus plus plus plus plus defense.[/sarcasm]
  18. Any type of water on the roads in Phoenix = Armageddon on the highways. No one in Phoenix knows how to drive when it rains, mists, or if someone spits on the road. This is the one thing that annoys me with Phoenix the most.
  19. Well you can cross Price off the list unless you want to give up Arcia, Coulter, Nelson, and Taylor for him. The cost to get Price just went through the roof with what the A's gave up to get who they got.
  20. Texas would definitely want something of quality in return, but it's not like they'd need to empty out the farm system. Speaking of Texas, Frasor is a cheaper type having a solid year and would just be a rental that I'm sure could be had at a reasonable cost. The only thing I would give up would be Jungmann at the most for Soria anything more and that would be too much IMHO.
  21. [sarcasm]I always thought it was whoever had the biggest vehicle had the right of way.[/sarcasm]
  22. The one player I would want to get in a trade would be Soria who is having an awesome year in the bullpen for the Rangers. It might cost way too much to get him but he would be my #1 target in improving the bullpen.
  23. Probably but GM's have asked for crazier returns for worse players see the Astros leaked trade notes: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/06/astros-trade-discussion-notes-leaked.html I don't see the Rockies as a good trading partner as I don't see the Brewers adding a 1B to their team though I wish they would consider it. I would prefer Napoli as you can dump Ramirez after this year and have Napoli be the 1B next year and try and find a cheap alternative at 3B next year. I think the Dbacks, Rangers, Red Sox, and the Twins make the most sense.
  24. Brutal month for the Brewers and it is not going to get easier next month. The two series against the Reds scare me. The Brewers could go 0 - 6 against the Reds in July unless the Brewers find some offense at 1B and SS. It would be nice if either Reynolds or Segura wake up and start hitting but if they do not I don't see the Brewers having a good month. My prediction: 12 - 13 2 @ TOR 0-2 3 @ CIN 1-2 4 vs PHI 3-1 3 vs STL 1-2 3 @ WAS 1-2 3 vs CIN 0-3 4 vs NYM 3-1 3 @ TB 3-0 AL Wins the All Star game with Jeter winning the MVP (I think I am going to be sick).
