  1. With Boston having a hot start I would look into trading Gallardo to Boston. Definitely would insist on Barnes but it looks like the Red Sox will not trade Bogaerts. Barnes, Cecchini, and Workman would be a decent haul from the Red Sox. I am really concerned about Gallardo and to me he seems to be declining rather rapidly. Take last year for example Gallardo averaged just over 6 IP per start and never made it past the 8th inning last year. Gallardo is no longer a #1 and is looking more like a #2 or 3 type of a pitcher.
  2. Peralta and Lohse are looking to be the teams #1 and #2 pitcher with Gallardo looking more like a #5 pitcher (1st year starting). Not sure if I should put that in blue or not. Peralta has sure looked rather good other than that last start against the Cardinals though that was a death by a million paper cuts.
  3. The Brewers should just somewhat give up on drafting pitching and go with position players and then trade those players for young pitching. The Brewers have been rather good at developing position players why not take your strength and use that to fill your weakness?
  4. Macha was horrible and was worse than Yost. Mat Gamel being where he is today is thanks to Macha. Macha was just not a good manager I doubt he would have played Segura at all last year and would have him platooning with Gonzalez or Bianchi. Macha was bad with the Brewers and he was bad with the A's. The problem with this team and last years is that there is no leadership on this team at all. Weeks has become the annointed leader after Prince left and Braun really hasn't stepped up to be the teams leader. Braun is very much like David Wright both are great players they are just not the types to lead a team. This is normally something that is not all that important in baseball but this team has no one that is going to get after another teammate.
  5. Maddon is almost exactly like Roenicke. Same strategy same flaws.
  6. 1 vs Pit 1-0 4 vs Stl 2-2 2 vs Tex 1-1 3 @ Cin 1-2 4 @ Pit 2-2 3 @ Stl 2-1 3 vs Lad 1-2 3 vs Pit 2-1 2 vs Min 2-0 2 @ Min 1-1 1 @ Phi 1-0 16-12
  7. VUDU is Walmart's digital movie service. It is nice as you can download the whole movie and then watch it or you can stream the movie. New release are about $6 for full 1080p movies.
  8. My sister says it is snowing up in Manitowoc. I do not miss WI weather.
  9. The Arizona Cardinals just drafted.
  10. Sweet we have the Brewers minor league pitcher of the ear today!
  11. No but it is SOP to use pitchers as starters until they show they are not starters in the minors. Very few pitchers are converted to relief pitchers only in the low minors. I wouldn't be surprised to see Magnifico as a starter until AA or possibly even AAA. AA would depend on the roster construction you could see Magnifico still starting in AA and then being turned into a reliever in AAA.
  12. Prince is a utility player not an everyday player. I wouldn't mind seeing him play more but he really shouldn't be an option as an everyday player. Prince is a lot like Hall where he can play a lot of positions passibly but unlike Hall Prince has very little power in his bat. Prince will replace Green at some point as the utility player on the team as he can play more positions than Green can.
  13. I have ran into the owner of the Dbacks in downtown Phoenix a couple of times and this doesn't surprise me at all.
  14. More like one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in baseball. This is probably the season the team needed to have to tell Mark A that he needs to start retooling the team. Hopefully Gallardo, Weeks, Hart, and Ramirez are traded during the deadline this year. That should bring in some more talent and put the Brewers back into a window of 2015-however long the window will be open again. Plus hopefully this season gives the Brewers a top 5 draft pick for next year.
  15. Well there is the wild card Cuban. I wouldn't be surprised if this is something they would do. I know the Mavericks were interested in Jennings and were willing to give up their 1st round pick this year for him. I would assume they would have then offered Jennings a max contract after acquiring him in the off season.
  16. Would it be possible to sign Jennings to a max deal and then trade him to the Mavericks for their next 2 1st round picks or just one 1st round pick?
  17. He looks so uncomfortable in the #4 spot in the lineup. He was hitting fairly well when he was batting 2nd in the lineup. It seems as though Rickie is trying to drive anything and everything in the #4 spot.
  18. Bad throw by Gomez and even worse blocking of the plate by Lucroy there.
  19. I just don't see the Brewers ever going over the pool cap and getting taxed and/or giving up draft picks to do so. The Brewers have never been big players in Latin America and I wouldn't expect signing Lohse to change that one way or the other, especially with the new bonus cap rules in place. From a talent perspective it would be nice if they would hit on 1 guy per season out of Latin America but thus far only Escobar and Peralta have made it to MLB, though I'm high on Orlando Arcia who's playing for the T-Rats as well. Colby will likely have more insight into the rumor mill regarding the international draft and what the Brewers might do than I would... historically they haven't done much though. What makes me sad is that the Brewers signed Lohse for $33m they could have had Soler, Cespedes, or Chapman for around that much money. All of these players come at a higher risk but I would take any one of these three over Lohse and for about $7m more the Brewers could have gotten Puig. I still don't get why the Brewers have not gone after someone like Cespedes or Chapman.
  20. First full season that I simmed and Braun gets injured and at the end of the year retires........... I was not happy to see that at all! So far I like the new hitting but when simming K's are down for starters. Highest K number for the year was Sabathia at 115 for the year.
  21. I have more confidence in Figaro being successful as the closer than I do with Axford or Henderson.
  22. David Aardsma or Brian Wilson are available though Wilson probably won't be ready for another month or so. I believe Melvin is going to wait until at least the end of the month before looking at other options to replace Axford. I would prefer Wilson over Aardsma.
  23. I think its time to remove Axford from the closer role. Turnbow v2.0.
  24. Right Kapler not Kotsay. Sigh can't believe I put Kapler instead of Kotsay. But the point stands Davis in RF to some is like playing Kotsay in CF.
  25. I would make room on the 40 for Cox.
