  1. That throw should have been picked up by Fielder. The throw wasn't that bad and it is a play that an average first baseman makes most of the time.
  2. Almost had a heart attack there and then I remembered there is another Ryan Braun.
  3. Why bump him up to Triple-A if the pitching is better at the Double-A level?
  4. Getting Hammonds instead of Damon. I believe the Brewers were targeting Damon also that year. Didn't Damon sign the same kind of a contract with the Red Sox that Hammonds singed with us?
  5. Personally I would rather play against the Phillies than the Diamondbacks. Webb and Haren is a better 1 2 punch in the beginning of the rotation than Zambrano and Harden/or anyone else on the Cubs roster. I would still take the Diamondbacks over the Cubs in the playoffs even with their current struggles. I would rather take my chances with the Phillies pitching staff than the Diamondbacks pitching staff.
  6. It is going to take at least a whole month before Carpenter will be able to contribute at his best. I don't think Carpenter will be that good when he comes off the DL. Do the Cardinals really have the amount of time to wait for Carpenter to get around those first couple of starts where he doesn't really give them that much more than who would be pitching for them anyways? I'm concerned about the Cardinals but yet I don't think they will have enough gas left in the tank to keep on playing the way they are.
  7. I don't like only having Shouse as the guy to get left handed batters out.
  8. Yes but Burrell is not just another power hitter. Burrell currently has a .412 OBP the Brewers don't even have a player who is near a .400 OBP on the team. Hardy is the only player close to .400 OBP and he only has a .362 OBP. Burrell would be the OBP guy the Brewers are looking for. A lineup of Braun, Fielder, and Burrell would be intimidating.
  9. Hardy is also worth more than just Burnett who is as injury prone as Harden plus more expensive with a complicated option in terms of will he stay or go. I think that was wishful thinking by the Blue Jays and not really a serious offer at least I hope that wasn't a serious offer.
  10. Almost Heroes Tommy Boy Coneheads Waynes World Black Sheep Spiderman 1 & 2 not a fan of the third. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer The Chronicles of Narnia
  11. I wouldn't mind having a Bucks and Brewers team up with a TV channel of their own kind of like the Rangers, Knicks, and Yankees have. I believe it is the Rangers and the Knicks that are on YES or are the Knicks on SNY? I can't remember and its been a long time since I have been to New York.
  12. I'm not liking this weekends games. The Cubs could win 2 of 3 this weekend while the Cardinals could easily sweep the Pirates this weekend. I do not like the second game of the series against the Reds. I'm not sure how well the Brewers will do against Volquez this weekend. It will be the first time the Brewers have seen Volquez this year. Hopefully the Brewers take 2 of 3 from the Reds and end the half at 53-42 being tied with the Cardinals if the Cardinals sweep the series against the Pirates.
  13. I didn't say it was a reasonable offer just a dream signing. Plus if the Brewers pull off the Greinke deal they add a young starting pitcher into the rotation with Greinke. With that move you are filling a void when Sabathia and Sheets leave. But the signing of Burrell does do a good thing for the Brewers though. It allows for Weeks to be moved out of the leadoff spot. I'm not sure the Brewers would be getting the full value of Hart at the leadoff spot though.
  14. Do the Brewers limit Parra's innings and pull him from the rotation? or do the Brewers move McClung or Bush from the starting rotation. Another good game today by Bush and McClung hasn't been slouching either. It is going to be a tough decision for Yost that is for sure when Suppan comes back. Would the Brewers actually put Suppan in the bullpen as another long reliever option and move someone down. If Mota doesn't find anything do the Brewers DFA him? and then put Villanueva in his spot? Lots of answers to be answered after the All Star break when Suppan comes back. Especially the player who will be moved back down to the minors. Stetter has started pitching good again I don't see how you could move him back down to AAA and only have 1 lefty in the bullpen unless the Brewers are going to put Parra there. I don't want to be Melvin or Yost and this decision is going to be a tough one.
  15. Brewers sign Pat Burrell to a 4 year deal worth $60 million Corey Hart moves to CF Burrell takes over at LF and Braun moves to RF. Brewers trade J.J. Hardy and a player to be named later for Zack Greinke of the Royals. Rivera traded for a bullpen arm. I believe Burrell is a free agent after this year. The Brewers could also add Chad Durbin who could take over Mota's spot in the bullpen. Not sure if Durbin is a free agent after this year either. Starting rotation: 1. Greinke 2. Gallardo 3. Parra 4. Suppan 5. Bush/McClung/Villanueva Starting lineup: 1. Hart CF 2. Weeks 2B 3. Braun RF 4. Fielder 1B 5. Burrell LF 6. Hall/Gamel 3B 7. Escobar SS 8. Kendall/Salome C 9. Pitcher
  16. Not going to happen. The Dodgers are not going to trade Kemp to the Rockies and the Rockies are not going to trade Holliday to the Dodgers. The Rockies would have to live with that trade for this year and next. I don't think the Rockies will trade Holliday to a NL and they are definitely not trading him to a team in the NL West. Holliday could go to the Red Sox depends on how Ortiz feels or he could go to the Rays. I bet Holliday stays with Colorado for the year and is traded in the off season.
  18. Bogut could have easily gotten a contract like Brand did when he would hit free agency and I believe he would get more years and more money than Brand did. Now hopefully one or both of Redd and Williams can be traded for a PG.
  19. You also have to take into account that Hart is a taller player. Taller players normally don't age very well. Look at Sexson he has a lot of knee and back problems. I expect Corey to become the 1B if he stays with the team long term if Prince is going to be traded.
  20. I was watching Outside the Lines today and they had a stat up that had Harden on the DL 6 times the only current Brewer that was on the DL more than Harden was Gagne with 7. Prior was also on the list with 7 trips to the DL and Wood also on there with 6 trips to the DL. I believe they also had a stat up there that Harden has been on the DL for a total of 365 days. I know it is close to a whole year for the amount of time that Harden has missed.
  21. Its not Broxton being talked about being traded for Wilson. It is Broxton being traded for Sabathia.
  22. Dillon By Breakdown AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS vs. Right 42 5 5 0 0 0 1 4 1 12 0 0 .119 .213 .119 .332 Weeks By Breakdown AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS vs. Right 204 34 40 8 3 5 19 22 7 46 10 2 .196 .294 .338 .632 Yes I know small sample size. But still Dillon has almost exactly the same stats as Hall does against righties. Dillon won't bat this bad against righties the whole year but I'm guessing it will be around what Weeks is doing right now. You are not gaining much if anything having Dillon playing every day instead of Weeks. Weeks defense has actually gotten better this year and right now is better than Dillon at 2B right now. When was the last time you remember Weeks botching a routine play at 2B? I can't even remember the last time I seen him botch one in the last 2 months. The point here is that if you put Dillon at 2B he is going to help the Brewers lose games more than he is going to help and win games at 2B. Weeks is by far the best option for 2B on the Brewers right now.
  23. Matt Cain is going no where. The Giants are not going to trade Cain or Lincecum for anything less than a Fielder + trade. Cain and Lincecum are both not going to be traded by the Giants unless you want to trade Braun or Fielder for them. That is what the Giants would be looking at for a Cain or Lincecum trade. Weeks or Hardy + would not get Cain or Lincecum.
  24. Please don't remind me of that Philly game I was at that game and it was just heart breaking. Going for the sweep against the Phillies and it was looking like we were getting back on track and then bam Cordero couldn't even get the pitcher out.
  25. Crabbe was just not ready for MLB and he was being sent down to the minors. The Pads still love him its just that the Brewers bought him back when he the Padres sent him down. I believe that is what happened.
