  1. 2. Interesting no one mentioned that Alexander has already signed with the Bucks I didn't even see it on ESPN at all. Bucks Sign 1st Round Pick Joe Alexander And Jim Paschke on the Agent Zero comments about Milwaukee.
  3. The Angels need hitting and the Brewers will need pitching. The Angels have a lot of good pitchers on their team and in their system. Other than the Royals who also have good pitching prospects and guys on the MLB club who could be traded for Fielder. If Fielder were to be traded to the Angels what would we get for him? I would think Adenhart and one or two players to be named later? I might be over valuing Adenhart though.
  4. Hardy to the Royals is looking like a move the Brewers could make and get some of the starting pitching back for a run in 2010 for the playoffs. I don't expect the Brewers to get something back that would help them in 2009 right away to stay competitive with the Cubs and other NL teams. But a trade during the off season involving Hardy for some pitching help would be something I can see happening.
  5. No they shouldn't because there are going to be some matchups where Hall has done really bad against a pitcher and Branyan has done rather well against a pitcher. Branyan is still going to get his chances to play I believe he will play more in the Cubs and Astros series. I believe Hall will get a day or two off in those series along with Rickie. Even if a player is just raking out there you can still find spots for a player who has been sitting on the bench. Just take Kapler for instance he has been relatively hot for the Brewers the whole year as a pinch hitter or as a spot starter in the out field. I could see Fielder getting a day off in the Astros series probably on Saturday and having Branyan play at 1B on that day. I believe Branyan will play the first 2 games against the Astros relieving Hall and Fielder for one day. Wolf pitches on Sunday so Hall will definitely be in the lineup on that day. For the Cubs series I believe Branyan will play against Zambrano, Dempster, and maybe Harden. It depends though on what Hall does during the weekend though. If he is still hot you have a problem and a hard decision to make. I would rather have Branyan play the majority of the time against the Cubs but then you have a weak bench that doesn't have a left handed bat. But if you don't have Branyan in the lineup you have a weak left handed lineup against Zambrano and Dempster. Tough decision for the Cubs series not so much against the Astros I believe Branyan will start at least 2 games against the Astros. I will probably be wrong with this but it seems like th logical thing to do in these next two series.
  6. A funk is more than one series. The Brewers are on a hot streak like the Cubs were in 07 when the Brewers went down to Chicago last year for a four game set. It is eerily similar to the same series as last year. The Brewers were in a funk at the time and the Cubs are currently in a small funk of their own at least it is a funk when they are not playing at home.
  7. It feels as though I am having déjà vu here with this up coming series with the Cubs. Didn't the Brewers and Cubs play a series last year about this time of the year where the Brewers were coming into Chicago in a funk and the Cubs were streaking. I believe the Brewers were only a couple games ahead of the Cubs or the Cubs were ahead I can't remember exactly. But I have this feeling that we have seen this before. I know the Brewers came into Chicago last year on a 4 game set against the Cubs if the Brewers would win 3 out of 4 they would pull ahead of the Cubs by a nice margin. On the other hand if the Cubs would win 4 games or 3 out of 4 they would be ahead of the Brewers by a game or 2 I can't remember exactly what it was. Now we come to this years 4 game set and the Brewers and Cubs are almost at the exact same records and at about the exact same spots in the division. Will the Brewers be the 07 Cubs and take this upcoming series and send a message to the Cubs and their fans like the Cubs did last year to the Brewers? The worst thing for the Cubs on this 4 game series would be for the Cubs to get swept and the outcome the Cubs are looking for is for them to win 2 out of the 4 games. The Brewers need to win this series a sweep would be nice but the Brewers have to at least win 3 games out of the 4 games to gain some more momentum against the Cubs and have them press like the Brewers did near the end of the 07 season.
  8. Mostly only people in or around the area of Milwaukee would know a lot about it. I remember when the Bucks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals one year and there was very little to no coverage near the Green Bay area. I was living near the Green Bay area when the Bucks were making their run on the Finals and there was little to no coverage on the Bucks. The sporting news was mostly about the Packers and their up coming season and very little on the Brewers also. It doesn't help also when all of the stations up there have some of the worst sports and news anchors I have ever seen.
  9. This was an interesting article at Baseball Prospectus. Know Your Third-Base Coach. Hmmm can't get the table to work correctly.
  10. I still cringe whenever I see that photo of Jenkins. That really sucked to when that injury happened Jenkins was having a great year until that happened.
  11. Favorite system has to be the Dreamcast. Loved that little thing so much to bad the Playstation 2 and XBox came out just after it came out and just blew it out of the water.
  12. What about trading Fielder and Weeks to the Angels for Nick Adenhart, Howie Kendrick, and ???. I know Kendrick doesn't get that many walks but he also doesn't strike out a lot either. Adenhart could become a number 3 or number 2 type of a pitcher. I believe we could get more from the Angels but it would just be filler guys with Kendrick and Adenhart coming over in the trade. A lineup of: 1. Kendrick 2B 2. Hardy SS 3. Hart CF 4. Braun RF 5. Branyan/Nelson 1B 6. Hall/Branyan 3B 7. Gamel LF 8. Kendall/Salome C 9. Pitcher Rotation: 1. Gallardo 2. Parra 3. Suppan 4. Bush 5. McClung This trade can also set up a trade of Hardy for a starting pitcher who would be more ready than Adenhart is. Maybe a Greinke type of a pitcher could be had for a Hardy + deal. Or another trade I was thinking about would be Hardy for DeJesus. This would give us a leadoff hitter and a CF that we need. It also brings up Escobar. The only problem with this trade is that we don't get any starting pitching help. I believe 2009 might be a down year we will still be competitive but I believe we will be more like the 2006 team. We would still have a nice lineup though but our starters and the bullpen would be the biggest issues. A lineup like this would be nice: 1. DeJesus CF 2. Weeks 2B 3. Braun LF 4. Fielder 1B 5. Hart RF 6. Gamel/Hall 3B 7. Escobar SS 8. Kendall/Salome C 9. Pitcher
  13. That is in the past we are not getting the Durham of old. He is old right now and I don't see this as a good move it doesn't really help the Brewers more than what it would cost to bring Nelson up. Durham is not a every day player and neither is Counsell at this point in their careers. The pop is not there anymore he is getting older he is 36 years old right now. There is not much left of Durham anymore. I love veterans but what does Durham bring that Counsell doesn't already? We already have a player in Counsell and Dillon who can do what Durham will add to the team. It is just not worth the expense going out (minor league talent) for the production we will get out of Durham. Nelson would be a better option if the Brewers are looking for a left handed bat on the bench. The Brewers do not need another bat right now. The Brewers need bullpen help over anything else right now. I believe the Brewers can live with the bench they have right now for hitters until the rosters expand. This is where Nelson and others will become more valuable than Durham.
  14. About the same. Both can't get to plays that Weeks can get to and both are more sure handed than Weeks. But both are not as good as Weeks is defensively. Both Counsell and Durham would be a downgrade on defense but it is not much and the difference between Counsell and Durham defensively would be so small I doubt it would be noticeable at all. I much rather have Nelson on the bench than Durham. Durham is just another Counsell on the bench offensively. Maybe a little bit more pop in the bat than Counsell but Durham is still about the same offensively as Counsell. If the Brewers wanted a player who could provide pop in the bat and is left handed Nelson is the obvious call up. I just wish Kapler could hit from both sides of the plate that would really be nice.
  15. That is true but at this stage in Durhams career he isn't what you would call an ideal 2B. Plus Counsell can still play 2B as good as Durham can so I still don't see whey adding Durham really adds anything to the team other than he is a switch hitter. Counsell and Durham are about the same defensively wise. Nelson still would be a better option it does limit the defensive subs a little though. I'm just not seeing any value that Durham brings to the team that Counsell already brings to the team.
  16. If we wanted another left handed bat why not just send Dillon down and bring up Nelson. That would be a better idea than trading for Durham. To me Nelson is a better option than Durham at the current time.
  17. I don't see how this has any impact on the season at all if it will be lost or not because of this.
  18. It is impossible to read in the current format it is in. It is just one big wall of text very hard on the eyes to read. If this could be fixed it would be much appreciated by me since I can't get past the first couple of sentences. 19. It will be still be made in Milwaukee and every other city where it is made. The factories are not going anywhere just the HQ which really isn't a big deal to me. Plus Miller still bottles some other beers than Miller.

  21. I wonder if we could get Eric Eybar or Howie Kendrick from the Angels for some low level prospects. Eybar is a good to a great second baseman he hits about the same as Rickie does but he is not a leadoff hitter though. Kendrick would be a better fit though. Even though Eybar is a switch hitter I would take Kendrick over Eybar. Rickie has more potental than what Kendrick has but right now Kendrick is probably the better player and could become a great leadoff hitter. I'm not sure the Angels would even deal either of them this year though. Would be nice to trade Rickie straight up for Kendrick though. I believe Kendrick is more of a leadoff guy than Rickie is.
  22. It won't be coming out in the fall but it does look really great.? MAG for the PS3 256 people online fighting at once.
  23. Why? We already have a player in the minors who could do what Overbay could do at a lower price.
  24. I wasn't sure where to put this. There is a lot of good information on players salaries and why some are over paid and why some are under paid. MLB's Labor and R&D Formula
  25. I can't remember the last time the Dodgers went out and got the big stud free agent. You are also forgetting the Dodgers still have Andruw Jones at a high price. I believe it is close to what Sabathia is asking. I believe the Dodgers go elsewhere in the off season they will probably go after a bat more than a pitcher in the off season since that is what they need more than anything else. Sabathia may come at a discount because there may not be that many teams looking to add Sabathia to their team. Yes Sabathia makes the Dodgers a better team pitching wise but the Dodgers need hitting help more than they need pitching help. I could see the Dodgers going after Burrell or another big bat in the off season. If Loney wasn't at 1B the Dodgers would go after Texeira. I just don't see the Dodgers going after Sabathia in the off season especially with Billingsly and Kershaw being in the rotation for the next couple of years. If the Dodgers want a veteran player they could just resign Lowe or pick up Penny's option and their rotation would be just as good as if they added Sabathia. The amount of wins would be negligble compared to adding Sabathia and not adding Sabathia for the Dodgers.
