  1. If the Jays took on all of Yelich's contract and then offered something like Addison Barger and Kendry Rojas (LHP). I would be all over that. I think the Brewers would have to take on a portion of Yelich's contract to be able to move him. Tiedemann is completely off the table in a Yelich trade.
  2. All spring training games are only exhibition. It is rare for a player to play the whole game during spring training. Also facing MLB pitchers in spring training is not the same as facing MLB pitchers in an actual MLB game. The majority of the time the pitcher is just working on something or are just warming up for the season. Missing one game is not going to hurt Chourio or any prospect at all. Not sure why you think the Brewers would hold him out of something like this. Missing one game won't hurt Chourio's development.
  3. Chourio will still get games against major league pitchers. This is only one game.
  4. Hopefully these are small cuts otherwise we will be back where we were inflation wise.
  5. The Brewers don't play until March 17th which is the last game of this. I am fairly confident in Chourio being apart of this along with Black and Frelick. There isn't really a rule of who is or isn't allowed to play in this game. For example Corbin Carroll could be in this showcase.
  6. MLB has announced Spring Breakout which is a showcase of prospects from every team. https://www.mlb.com/news/spring-breakout-prospect-showcase-to-debut-in-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  7. The one FA I would have paid a lot for signed with the Giants:
  8. I would like to thank the Packers for keeping the Bears alive for a top 5 pick. Really truly thank you.
  9. The other person I was replying to.
  10. Yes but that is still not a zero percent chance. It is possible the Brewers go against what they have done previously and move Wilken up. It is impossible to say for certain what the Brewers plans are for Wilken.
  11. If everything goes right it is possible he makes it up to the Brewers. Probably as a September call up. I wouldn’t say he won’t be up for another year. Prospects don’t tend to be on a linear path.
  12. I think I just heard more about a kicker in a game since Madden going on a bumbling rant about Summerall.
  13. Watching Ferguson lineup off the offensive line just reminds me how bad of a HC PC was. How do you have someone like that and very rarely if ever line him up in the slot or off of the offensive line? He was an absolute bumbling idiot when it came to taking advantage of the players he had and calling good plays and being more creative than a crayon.
  14. If you go from 1% to 2% that is still an increase in sales. It maybe a small amount but it is still an increase. Even if the Dodgers current out of market sales is 3% if Ohtani increases that to 5% that is still a win for the Dodgers and will be an improvement over what they are doing now. So the Dodgers bottom line will improve how much it improves no idea but it will improve but probably just at a smaller rate. The out of market sales is what is going to improve here not the in market maybe for a season it improves for in market but out of market sales is what the Dodgers will see an increase in.
  15. I think the Dodgers will. Ohtani is the closest thing to an NBA superstar where fans regardless if they are Dodgers fans or not will buy his jersey or merchandise. The last player who had a following like this was Trout and before that it was Griffey. MLB typically doesn't have these types of players because it is more of a local market only unlike the NBA where it is mostly a player driven market. The NFL also doesn't have an Ohtani or a LeBron like phenom where consumers will buy a players jersey and don't really follow the team the player is playing for. MLB, NFL and the NHL are all local market driven as there are very few to none where you will have someone or multiple players be their own market. So I believe the Dodgers will definitely make a lot more off of Ohtani than they will of Freeman and Betts. It is possible Ohtani could reach just general Dodgers merchandise levels. You can't look at it as just Dodgers fans buying Ohtani merchandise but also non Dodgers fans which as I have stated previously is usually not the case for MLB teams. Ohtani is just in a different class than any other player in MLB right now. The only one who rivals him is Trout and he isn't even close to being on the same level as Ohtani is.
  16. I don't think Lux is a great player. He has had one good year so far. I think he is limited to 2B only and is not a SS. I think counting on him being a SS will be a big mistake. Also counting on him replicating his 2022 season is also foolish. He is also only just an above average base runner though he is in the top 89 percentile in sprint speed. With the torn ACL, LCL and a hamstring tear that could sap a lot of his speed. If he drops to lets say the 70th percentile in sprint speed and with his base running at 69th percentile how far will he drop there? If he drops to about average around 50th percentile then he starts losing value. That 3.0 fWAR is going to drop to around a 2.0 fWAR. He does have a lot of range in fielding but I am wondering if this is more shift based. With the current rules of no shifting is Lux really that great of a fielder without the shift? There are way too many question marks on Lux for him to be in a Burnes deal. Maybe if he is a throw in but I doubt the Dodgers do that. Lux has very little value right now on the trade market because of the injuries and the question marks of how he will perform after these injuries.
  17. If a cap comes with a floor the players union will be somewhat in favor of it. The problem is the owners won't agree to a floor. Also some type of revenue sharing with the MLBPA would need to be agreed on and the owners have not shown any interest in sharing any revenue.
  18. Ummm Wilken finished the year in AA. It is also his most likely starting point in ‘24.
  19. Braves-Angels trade:
  20. The Red Sox basically gave up a couple of nobodies for a questionable bat. O'Neill is good if he is healthy but that is a big IF. The Cardinals got a AAAA bounce me around pitcher and a 7th or 8th man out of the bullpen piece. Definitely sold low on O'Neill there.
  21. And also commit a lot of war crimes. Do not anger the nice Canadians....... Please note the war crimes thing is a running joke about Canadians in the military.
  22. Fairly accurate for player values. Not perfect but it is the best that we have.
  23. Jasson Dominguez isn't really a buy low candidate especially with how he finished playing in NY to end the season. From the Yankess perspective Dominguez would be the main piece going out with one or two other lower end prospects. Jones and Hampton would be close to what Burnes value is. If you get a bidding war you could probably up that to someone like Gleyber Torres. So Jones, Hampton and Torres or someone like Torres for Burnes. I am not that familiar with the Yankees farm system to find someone like Torres to include so Torres it is. I don't believe the Brewers would have all that much interest in Torres and I am not sure the Yankees really match up all that well with the Brewers either.
  24. If Ohtani signs with the Blue Jays or someone else that will make it two years in a row where the Giants have offered large contracts to the #1 FA. Supposedly the Giants offer to Judge last year was more than what the Yankees offered I believe? I could be wrong on this. But if Ohtani also forgoes the Giants is this something that is telling about the Giants or just some white noise?
