  1. Gio pitched like an ace today, good start to his brewers stint.
  2. Huge save by Jeffress, great win! Gio pitched like an ace today.
  3. In the offseason, the Cubs signed Chatwood and Darvish to big contracts, while the Brewers signed Chacin and Miley to small contracts. And as it turns out, Stearns is a genius. In the offseason, signed Cain and traded for Yelich, another genius move. In Stearns I trust.
  4. Derek Johnson has turned Miley into a sub 3 era SP, hope he can do the same with Gio Gonzalez. It'd be a great boost to the rotation if that happens.
  5. Schoop is starting to heat up, so far in month of Sept... AVG: .429 OBP: .444 SLG: .571 Hope he will hit this month like he did in July... AVG: .360 OBP: .356 SLG: .700
  6. With the new additions, hope we have a hot month of September and win the divison.
  7. Stearns deserves lots of credit for signing Miley and sticking with him through his injuries. It's amazing how Stearns is able to find good starting pitching at dirt cheap prices in FA like Miley and Chacin, he has better instincts than most other GMs.
  8. Excellent shutout win. Wade Miley has been fantastic and our bullpen have like 4-5 closers.
  9. I like this trade, we added another big bat into the lineup who plays both 2B and SS. What's more Schoop is not a rental, we have him for next season too, and we didn't give up much to get him.
  10. I think the Brewers would have won more games in June if Saladino wasn't out injuried and in the DL.
  11. Why not trade for the Wisconsin native Zimmermann instead? The Tigers might want to dump his contract so the trade cost could be much lower.
  12. Tough catch by Sogard on a pop-up in the 2nd inning with the bases loaded and 1 out, at least he played good defense to help the team win today.
  13. I doubt Stearns will trade for Machado as it goes against his trade philosophy. I think it's great trade philosophy to avoid a very costly 4 months rental trade that could regress the team in the longer term.
  14. Another excellent trade by Stearns in getting Saladino for basically nothing but some cash. Hope Saladino gets more playing time at SS.
  15. Cain and Yelich on fire, they have transform our offense.
  16. 2018 Brewers Season Predictions Win-Loss Record: 90-72 Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS All Star Game Representative(s): Cain and Yelich Offensive Player of the Year: Cain Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Sogard Most Disappointing Player: Thames
  17. Why? Seriously, why? What did you expect from him? I'm not sad at all, in fact I'm actually sad anyone thought he had anything left to give us. Looking at his past two seasons, it was pretty easy to tell he was signed probably more-so as a favor to him for his previous time he spent with us. I don't think anyone actually expected him to make this team. Because I like him and I think he can contribute in the bullpen.
  18. If Thames continues to hit like he did in spring training, I think he will lose his starting role vs righties very quickly to Braun. I wouldn't pencil him for 110 starts just yet. First it is spring training and secondary I don’t think we see Braun that much out there at 1B with how bad they still think he is. Only reason he will face LHP there is because he crushes it. I’m not so sure they think his bat is worth it against anything else quite yet. Thames will have a really long leash of time before Braun really starts stealing his entire role. Thames had never played 1B in college or the minors or the majors before moving overseas, he only started playing 1B in Korea. Thames previously only played LF/OF, while Braun had at least played in the infield in college and the minors. If Braun is given more time working on 1B, I think he could be better than Thames at 1B going forward. The career numbers show that Braun is a better hitter than Thames, so I don't quite agree that his bat is not worth it yet. Yelich and Cain and Braun have all hit really well in spring training. Counsell may change his tune if Thames continues to hit like he did in spring training. Hopefully Thames start mashing the ball when the season starts or he could risk losing his starting spot.
  19. Good article by TH, looks like Stearns is very much into the youth movement for pitching, which probably means Woodruff will be in the team and Burnes will be up soon.
  20. Choi having a great spring training, pretty sad if he doesn't make the team.
  21. Isn't Logan already injured? Thought something happened with him the same day Miley got hurt, but haven't heard an update on him. Yeah, I didn't notice that Logan was out for 6 weeks. I'd switch Logan with Barnes. Sad that Guerra has been optioned to the minors, seems unfair considering he has pitched better than Woodruff in spring training. Wow, Yo didn't make the team too. Really sad, he was one of my favorite Brewers prospects and did well for the Brewers when he came up. With Yo and Guerra out, I think this means that Woodruff will make the team.
  22. If Thames continues to hit like he did in spring training, I think he will lose his starting role vs righties very quickly to Braun. I wouldn't pencil him for 110 starts just yet.
  23. Barring any trade or injury, I'm going with this pitching staff on opening day. Rotation Anderson Davis Chacin Suter Guerra Bullpen Yo Albers Hadar Logan Knebel (closer) Hoover Jeffress Taylor Williams
  24. The Marlin started in 1993 has won 2 world series. The Milwaukee Brewers started in 1970 has won 0 world series. My choice is definitely still A, it's imperative that the Brewers win a world series. Even the Bucks have won the NBA championship and have the championship gold patch on their unis. The oldest team without the title, the Astros have finally won their first world series last year, the Brewers and Padres are now the oldest teams without the world series title.
