  1. cool, i'll be at the snappers give away that day. we should have no problem working something out.
  2. i might be able to help out. what is the date of the cc giveaway
  3. how many years is that 24 mil for? i didnt realize his contract was that big. they might take on suppans 12 to save the other 12
  4. i think they should move weeks down the batting order. they have better lead off potential now with gomez and escobar. with weeks in the 5 or 6 hole he could easily knock in 80 rbis.
  5. i really dont think this would come even close to happening with the royals looking to add a starter. suppans contract would be way too much to take on considering they are saying washburn would be too expensive for them.
  6. kc does need a young, stable catcher and salome could learn under kendall for the next year and get more playing time with kendall backing him up the year after that. i dont know how willing they would be to get rid of meche. i would say let bush go relief, release narveson, and put manny as #5. yo, wolf, davis, meche, and parra would be the 2nd best rotation in the division (probably the most solid 1-5 though).
  7. if they could get schafer for hart, i'd do it right now. he's cheaper and has alot of upside. braves fans are really big on this kid.. put schafer in right and have edmonds help him improve his fielding. he could be an all star. miller or sonnenstein would be good but they are big league ready and we have no place for them until next season.
  8. mlbtr said the brewers claimed him and designated chris smith. i really liked smith, he is NOT AFRAID!!
  9. i'm kinda glad that these will most likely not have an alternate. i'm kinda sick of all the drama of having to get both and my shelves cant take too many more bobbles.
  10. i would rather have bush than maine right now. hart for maine would be ok then maybe sign damon for 3 mil.
  11. i hate watching byrnes run in the field. he looks soo stupid with his arms out like he does.
  12. i would be REALLY interested in the wbc jersey, would probably have to wait til my taxes come in though.
  13. Brian Duensing is not worth Gamel. His body of work (84 innings) isn't extensive enough when coupled with rather mediocre minor league numbers (4 ERA in 330 AAA innings, more than a hit per inning) and the fact he was 26 before making his major league debut. i do believe i wrote duensing + as in plus another player. i think duensing could be a really good 2 or 3 starter in a couple years.
  14. i would be stoked for brian duensing + for gamel (but i really would rather not trade gamel)
  15. texas is still looking for a rh bat, how about hart for mccarthy? he's still young and had a killer k rate in the minors. he still hasnt reached full potential in the majors, isnt that the kind of trade we should be gunning for? or maybe talk to the padres about clayton richard or aaron poreda. both seem big league ready. i think they were looking for an outfielder. it doesnt really look like they have a spot for at least one of them and they have good depth for pitchers in the minors.
  16. havn't really heard anything about how his rehab is going in a while now. should he be throwing off the mound by spring training?
  17. i have a mat gamel auto bat i am thinking about selling. not sure if i am going to end up letting it go but just kinda wanted to figure out level of interest and a good price. it is a black rawlings big stick and is signed in silver marker. i have a coa as well as a picture of mat holding it. pm me if you are interested and what you are willing to pay. - kevin
  18. with the trade demands for starting pitcher so steep and many of the fa pitchers signing already doesnt it make sense for melvin to make a run for garland or justin duescherer? ben sheets would be my top pick but he will be too expensive. duescherer was really good with oakland before he got injured but all signs point to him being ready for next season and garland has always been a fav of mine so i would be all for one of these 2. word is the pirates are making a run for justin right now so i hope dm isnt playing a waiting game.
  19. besides gonzalez, name me another big bat 1b as good as prince that is on the market right now...... yeah there isnt any. i'm sure there are plenty of teams looking to upgrade at a position that pretty much requires power. is anyone else going after adrian besides boston? i havnt heard of anyone. if there was another guy like prince or adrian out there i think you might hear other teams start mentioning that they are looking. what big bats are still available on the fa market that are not named jason or matt. derosa is good but his bat isnt a team changer for anyone.
  20. i think alot of people are still on the bucholz band wagon after he had that no hitter. i know he's good but alot of his time in the majors hasn't been very succesful (save for the end of this season). i agree, i'd love to have him, but the price for him is really high.
  21. none of these have really given much option to replace prince at 1b. texas would probably be the only one with davis. texas's money issues might also be going away soon with the team being sold soon. lars anderson could be decient but in no way is he ready for the majors and i really dont think any of you need to be reminded that we have NOTHING in the minors for 1b. if we could go with texas and get davis smoak and feliz (we'd probably have to give something else, hart would be a good idea and move gamel to right or left and put braun in right) we would have a killer line-up. smoak would be great after next year at 3b. 1b- davis 2b-weeks ss-escobar 3b- mcgehee(until smoak is ready) lf/rf- braun and gamel cf- gomez sp- gallardo wolf feliz bush parra that looks pretty awesome to me. definatly better than chicago, l.a., and most of the nl.
  22. prince to texas would be interesting, maybe if we sent a pitcher with prince we could get feliz, smoak, and crush davis. that would be pretty sweet.
  23. gallardo wolf correia parra bush thats a damn decient rotation as far as i'm concerned. melvin said he needed 2 starting pitchers. i dont see why he's waiting around when correia is going to be cheap. davis and garland are no better than correia (wouldnt mind garland though) but more expensive. sheets wants a lot of money and i really dont see him coming back. DO SOMETHING FAST DOUG, YOU WAITED LAST SEASON AND SEE WHERE THAT GOT US!!!!!!!
  24. why wait for him to get non-tendered? offer up a couple middle prospects, maybe katin and an a ball infielder for him. i would much rather give up a little and get him then have someone else get him first.
  25. i really wouldnt have a problem giving that up for him.
