Catching up on the last couple pages:
Rodgers play hasn't been bad this year. His demise is greatly exaggerated on a very bad team. He may not be the MVP QB he was, but IMO he is still in the top half of the league. As someone who unfortunately watched too many Jets games, he is still throwing dimes on a weekly basis. It's been a bad year. There have so many bizarre moments where he throws a great pass only to have it bounce in the air or something and get taken back for a TD. He has, at times, made worse throws than we are used to. That is always a byproduct of losing, frustration, and trying to make something happen.
That said, he's 41. I don't know that there is a team out there that wants to deal with him at 41. I am not sure he will be able to find a home if he wants to continue playing, other than maybe the Jets running it back? This experiment would have worked if he were walking into the situation Brett Favre did in Minnesota, which was the expectation, but he wasn't. Favre put together his best statistical season there, but nobody thought that was the best version of Favre. He still had enough juice to excel in a watered down role, that's where Aaron is, IMO. He is not even the top 5 worst problems on that Jets team.
I would bet on the Packers to beat the Lions if that matchup happens again. Just a gut feeling. I think the Packers are ascending and have not thrown their best punch at them yet, and I think Detroit is in a struggle health-wise. Philadelphia is a better defensive team. I think they are the favorites, and a visit to Philly in January would be more difficult for the Packers than a dome.
