  1. NFL coaches seem to treat challenges like going for it on 4th down or something that isn't verified via video. The number of times you hear one day "we figured it was worth it," as if it isn't a binary thing. I guess it's not, but you know what I mean. That said the IGT is funny. Seattle has done absolutely nothing on offense. The Packers would have to genuinely try to lose this game. Not like we haven't seen that before in this building 😂
  2. He's had 3 fumbles, 2 lost, including that one. That's probably above league average given the volume he takes.
  3. In game threads are hilarious
  4. That is his second fumble of the season
  5. I would always make the decision that requires the other team to get the ball an extra time. Kick the FG. A touchdown isn't a kill shot. It's marginally better than a FG.
  6. How does an NFL player backtrack to the 6 to do a fair catch? There are kids in 8th grade that know better.
  7. Dreaming of a scenario in which the Lions drop to 5 and lose to Tampa again in the first round.
  8. I am ok with it. High snap, QB decides if he waits another second the guy will be open...things happen. You gotta make sure you extend a possession lead going into half, especially kicking to start the 3rd. Love took way, way too long to snap the ball on the prior play.
  9. Maybe. I'd feel a lot better with 5. The NFL clocks have a tendency to burn a second when they shouldn't.
  10. Probably have enough time to run one QUICK play and still kick a FG though.
  11. You gotta kick the FG. I hate it, but you have to. It's an extra possession.
  12. Death, taxes and abhorrent clock management in an NFL game.
  13. That sure looked like touchdown #3
  14. They're 3-4 at home this year. The reality is that it isn't a very hostile environment. They built that reputation with a team that won back-to-back NFC titles. They won because they were good, as is usually the case.
  15. I think the Rams are going to take that division. Tampa will take the South. There isn't a gimmie in the NFC playoffs if that happens. Washington is probably the weakest link. It will be a fun tournament. I don't think any game would be predictable other than the 2 v 7 if that happens.
  16. At least we'll get a couple weeks of people shutting up about the Lions being invincible as if they are some generationally dominant team. There is a very real possibility they don't even win the division.
  17. The 49ers suck and need a scapegoat.
  18. I consider myself a major football fan. Before this clip surfaced, I couldn't have told you last week whose record Strahan broke.
  19. I think the Brewers will get a lot of out of both these guys. It's not an exciting trade by any means but for a non-daily player that I never really cared for, it's fine. Durbin is a bit of lottery ticket, maybe that's generous as we probably know about what his ceiling is, but I think they'll get some good value out of Cortes. He should benefit from leaving the ALE too.
  20. The Packers should probably just shut Jaire down with next to zero chance to improve their seed anyway. Get him some light work the last game of the season maybe.
  21. When you're the Yankees it doesn't matter. You just fill need at whatever price.
  22. I bet there is at least one that does. It wasn't that long ago I remember reading a scout in SI saying his front office is not even interested at looking at a pitcher under 6'3. I know this is an age-old debate around here that I don't care to get into, but I do believe that "clutch" is a thing. Not in the sense that some players "get better," but I do believe that certain players shrink. I don't think 2 1/3 innings is enough to make that judgment, but on the limited sample we do have + Devin's other issues, I don't think he's a mentally strong guy. I am glad he's gone, and I trust the team will get some juice out of the return.
  23. That is kind of how I feel about him. The numbers don't lie, he's an effective player, so I temper what I say appropriately. But I didn't like him. I never felt confident with him, and I think he's a headcase.
  24. It's not hard to find because there is an 8-minute video of him babbling on Youtube I posted here somewhere. He just repeats himself a bunch and says he was talking trash and did the throat slash. He's not the sympathetic figure he seems to think he is. I visited the Lions subreddit and they mostly think he's an idiot that crossed the line.
