  1. He did this before, I believe that is what sealed his fate. He was dumb enough to go on local TV and mouth off about doing it with Todd Bowles, who, according to him, just laughed it off. He should have gone away quietly once he was ejected, instead of making the rounds in the media.
  2. Expected outcome and what I was saying to anyone who kept saying "LaFleur did exactly what the fan wanted." Yeah, maybe for those 10 seconds. MLF will never think about this dope again. He'll spend the next 12 months begging the Lions to get his tickets back and possibly miss going to the NFCCG that clinches the Super Bowl. Dummy needed to realize where he was, not in section 318 yelling stuff nobody could hear. This really puts a smile on my face. I'm glad he's devastated. He "wishes he could tell his side of the story." Dude - just stop talking already.
  3. I am guessing that Tauscher and Franks couldn't care less about it. The only thing about it that ever bothered me in the slightest was just handing a record to a guy. I am actually kinda surprised any Packers fan cares about it. It was a nothingburger for me - really, it wasn't like the HR record or something big in pop culture. Nobody really cared about it.
  4. I like the midseason tournament. I thought it was a stupid idea but I've had fun with it. I want them to get a trophy.
  5. I think most people thought it was a lame way to break a record. Strahan has said since that it wasn't worth it, though I doubt in the heat of the moment he really knew they gave it to him. I can still remember reading the newspaper the next day and some guys were maintaining it wasn't a dive, when really everyone knew that it was. Gastineau wouldn't be in the hall either way. And the funny thing about that record...nobody knew whose it was. It wasn't like Roger Marris. Everyone knew there was a sack record and that Strahan was gunning for it, but I don't remember a single person mentioning the name Mark Gastineau. Probably not in the top 5 of douchey things Brett Favre did, but I am glad we got that clip out of it. Just hilarious. Favre looks like he thinks he is kidding at first.
  6. That clip was bizarre, hilarious, and Gastineau is clearly not..."there." Two things though - one, I don't think that happened today. I think it's from a 30 for 30 that's coming out, fairly recent but I think it's old. Second, Gastineau should check his receipts. Look up Tim "Doc" Anderson and his role in that fiasco. I always thought it was lame from Favre, but that was about it. The record's been broken since anyway. Sounds like Mark's teammates all hate his guts to boot.
  7. I don't think it can be done. Unless you are talking about things AI can handle; was it a first down, did it cross the goal line, how many Newtons were applied to his facemask (lol). As long as there is any subjective thing considered under replay, we will have missed calls, wrong calls, human error and controversy. That goes back to my thesis, replay hasn't solved anything, it's just moved them. Replay has obviously corrected calls, but it has not eliminated bad calls and controversy, so in my eyes it hasn't done anything other than detract from the entertainment value of the sport and slow it down.
  8. I think the Lions do, and that is why they were really trying to slam the door against the Packers. Had the Packers won that game, nothing would really change for the Packers, but it would have really opened the door to the Lions losing the bye. I don't think the Vikings are going to win out though. I believe they'll lose to either Detroit or Green Bay and possibly both. I think Campbell was more aware of Philly being hot on their tail and making sure they do not end up playing them in Philly.
  9. I wish they'd whack all challenges if they aren't going to implement lasers and such that just don't miss calls. Replay has just gotten worse since its inception. Constantly changing the gray area of what you can and can't challenge. Going to replay a good chunk of the time and seemingly still getting the call wrong. It has not cut down on controversy at all. People just argue about stuff more now. More importantly though I just find it awful as a fan watching for entertainment. Most climactic moments follow with a few minutes of finger crossing hoping that what you just got excited about isn't wiped off the board. All because of our obsession with getting some calls in a sports game "right" - which we aren't even doing anyway. It's just made the televised product worse.
  10. I'm hoping an over-saturation of guys on 5 teams gets so bad that it becomes more feasible for the top tier of the leftovers to go play in Elon Musk's new league or something. Then fans of the other 26 cities decide that is more fun for them and there is a salary cap etc. Completely unrealistic and ridiculous but I want it to happen.
  11. Yeah, Puka running around without Jaire is not something I want to think about. Of course without Jaire the Packers aren't going anywhere anyway.
  12. Looking more and more likely the Packers could travel to Los Angeles and not Seattle especially if they beat Seattle next week. The Rams play a much softer schedule the rest of the way. Might come down to Rams/Seahawks in Week 18. Of course if that happens it's also likely Tampa moves to 3. Tampa or LA are both better than Seattle IMO.
  13. Dumb league. How is this sustainable. Yes, just keep alienating 4/5 of your fanbases.
  14. I agree. They were a lot more convincing today. There was a point this year where I thought they were going to dive and finish like 9-8. I still don't really take them seriously as a contender. I think they are playing at their ceiling. And they are going to likely regress when they have to move on from Darnold and into what is an unknown. I am not sure Darnold is a miracle though. He is a 1st round talent that cratered with the Jets - he really wasn't even terrible for them, and then landed in Carolina. Just hasn't ever been in a good spot. Just makes me think Zach Wilson should get a second chance too.
  15. The only reason Tampa is 7-6 is the schedule and injuries. Without injuries to the receivers that is a 10 or 11 win team and look at who they have lost to, and by how much. You want the Packers to finish 6th and Minnesota 5th for that reason. I think that is happening anyway.
  16. The weirdness of the NFC North is ... weird. I believe I want the Vikings to win, and Tampa to take the South. I think they are the best team there by a wide margin, and that would set them up against Minnesota, a game I think they could very well win. I think GB is destined to make two trips to Seattle. Then likely head to Detroit in the divisional if they can win in Seattle. I guess you can make an argument the Packers could still move into 5 and get a game with Atlanta which they really should win, but I think it's pretty unlikely at this point. Minnesota could lose their last 2 games but I don't think Atlanta will hold that division. Not sure I want to visit Tampa as a 5th seed.
  17. Lol. I couldn't agree more. I told everyone this was going to happen last year, prior to the NFCCG. Most here wanted Detroit to win. I did not, because I know once they win the Super Bowl they will be insufferable, and people are glossing over it, particularly Packers fans, because they have always been bad. Well, they seem to have circumvented winning the Super Bowl, and have just gone straight to the annoying stage.
  18. I keep seeing people point out that the Lions are better but I don't think I've seen a single person here or otherwise say that they aren't. The gap is small enough to fall under any given Sunday though. Whereas, for example in 2020 with SF, there was not a chance in hell the Packers were going to make it close.
  19. I went once when I was SSH. It stunk, to be frank. Nothing really special and the "discounts" seemed pretty lame.
  20. He did get kicked out, he is a season seat holder, and this was not his first time down on the field, but you can guarantee it will be his last. When nobody cares about this fart of a story in a week, he'll regret that. Matt LaFluer will probably never think about it again and didn't until he was asked about it. Also appears to have the IQ of a potato.
  21. Almost impossible to make that throw without properly planting your feet, usually would come out as a duck that gets picked off, which was definitely a possible outcome here. But if people want to see him hit these throws they will have to live with some picks. I am OK with it. He definitely does not seem to let his mistakes get to him.
  22. It's a big "don't care" from me. Frankly wish more morons were put in their place like that. Got kicked off the field and likely faced serious discipline as a season ticket holder, most clubs do not take well to that crap, when you are on the field to hold the flag for the anthem. I don't know who decided that athletes and coaches are just supposed to stand there and let people mouth off to them. There is a line and this idiot crossed it, this isn't the same as yelling from your seat. I like MLF's passion on the sidelines and yes, I do think he was being a bit theatrical to get the team going. If it bothered him, fine. It would bother me too.
  23. You've got to stop listening to stuff coaches say in press conferences. It's all fake. I actually thought he was trying to rile his own players up. He knows he wasn't de-escalating. Telling a guy to shut the F up isn't de-escalating, lol. I don't think he was "worried" about this guy and I don't think it really affected his job. It's fine. It's fodder for sports talk. It's just not a significant thing at all. I couldn't care less.
  24. He's been VERY accurate all year though. There was a game earlier I remember watching where he was like 23/24 late in the game. It's a lot of quick passes and dump offs and let the athletes pick up YAC. It's not hard to figure out though, I don't think it has a lot to do with MLF. They've haven't had a MLB in like 20 years. Desmond Bishop looked like he was going to be the guy but he never came back from that hamstring injury.
  25. A takeaway is made much more likely by a dependable pass rush. The bigger problem is that you most likely have to do that 4 times in a row against high-level QB play in the playoffs. The Packers hypothetical run could be Baker Mayfield - Jared Goff - Jalen Hurts - Mahomes/Allen. You're just not going to do that without consistent pressure. It is easier to mask in the regular season when half your games are against scrubs.
