Still have PIckens, two more ILB and two RBs from Georgia possible for tomorrow. How does Georgia get 3 ILB drafted (or at least ranked a the moment)??

Packer Draft Predictions Update: Easy Ones Drafts multiple WRs. Draft a 4th/5th round OL Trades up - Just too much draft capitol for Gute to sit tight. Draft someone we didn't expect - PASS Draft a TE higher then people expect and draftniks give us a low draft grade. Fans complain that we could've traded down 2.5 spots and drafted him there. 75% of draftees have a RAS > 8.00 Doesn't draft a WI player. Fans are upset. Hard Ones Doesn't take a first round WR - PASS Drafts 3 WRs. Two in the top 4 rounds - The third is also a PR/KR. Trades up from #22 and down from #28. - FAIL Drafts someone from Cinncinnati Drafts a player recovering from an ACL and dropped as a result Grabs a late round RB that is labeled as a steal. Well, two hits and one miss. Everything else is in play. I'd be surprised if we don't move up tomorrow. Use one of those 4th round picks that Gute seems to hate...

I'm sure the Packers looked into it too. The "domestic violence" that I could tell was him kicking in a door - not direct violence to a person (still not wonderful...but better than the alternative). Obviously eluding to other things too, but no details.

I'm wondering if PIckens drops for the same reason - character. I predicted a trade down at #28 and I'm going to stick with it. (Of course, I predicted trading up at #22).

One of the main differences between the MLB and NFL drafts is that many of these players are watched on national TV and in bowl games by even casual fans. Few MLB draftees are ever seen playing games unless you are pretty a hard-core baseball fan.

And RB and DD were terrible picks. ? But seriously, I'm not 100% sold on Olave. I'm just saying I don't think we have to have one type of WR just to run block. Adams was often removed for run plays last year anyway. If he falls to us (which I doubt) I hope run blocking isn't the reason we don't draft him. If he is BPA, we shouldn't pass on him. (And the Theilen observation was certainly post JJ draft. Just a bonus thought about not drafting because you already have a guy.)

Obviously, I'm hoping for Olave, but I'm ok if we pass. I'm not a Burks fan, though if we pick him I'd be fine, too. For both, I trust the GM evaluating how they fit with our team. I'm also good with a Pickens/Pierce combo. Getting them as a 2nd/3rd combo would be awesome Really not impressed with Dotson. I predict he falls much farther than expected. If London falls to us, great. I just hope we don't trade up for him.

Historically, need based drafting leads to reaches and overdrafts and is a terrible approach. The packers have shown they can build a solid OL with 2nd &4th round picks and UDFAs. The vikings issues come from just drafting poorly. Yet, you want to knock the one brilliant pick they made. They clearly took the BPA with JJ.. You also are missing that the vikings really only had Theilen at WR and a bunch of nobodies. And Adam has regressed also. So it really was a need for them plus the BPA. It was the right move, hands down. Olave is actually praised for his blocking effort...just not the results. If Olave is anything close to JJ, he is the right pick. I'm sure our coaches can deal with one WR not blocking well if he is a pro bowl caliber.

Sorry, but using JJ and the vikings as a "bad example" of drafting is a pretty big miss. Drafting a pro bowler is always the right move. Always! The viking OL problems are not because they drafted JJ in the first round. I don't think Olave has to be the massive blocker we think he should be. Frankly, if he is anywhere near the WR JJ had become, you deal with good effort blocking or move him around. The passing game is always more important than the running game.

No idea if someone special is available on the OL, but generally, I'm hoping you have Bahk/Nij at tackle starting and bring back Kelly for depth. Grab a G/T in the 4th like usual and play on. Spend the high capitol on WR, DL, and Edge.

Nicely done once again @LouisEly. Do you focus on Packer visits to guess who the Packers are lookiing for? Buy any draft info to put it together or just read a lot of free stuff on the internet? Just curious. I'm still big on Olave in the first and Pickens/Pierce in the second. If they missed on Olave, it wouldn't break my heart to pass on London/Burks in the first and get both Pickens and PIerce in the second.
