  1. Scoreless inning for Hodges, but man Thompson hit 2-3 hard hard hit balls off him one that was 2 feet foul and the last one was a deep fly out to left to end the inning. Still 6-0 deficit. Hunt has settled down, but Shuckers still trail 2-0
  2. I mean it's June and in Germany that is the best month (outside of October of course!) so that means Yannic Walther is the offense for Carolina tonight with both hits and he is on a .980 OPS tear this month.
  3. Welp another disastrous start for Biloxi and Carolina tonight. Hunt yields 2 runs in the 1st. And Meccage on the hook for 5 ER as Carolina down 6-0 Remember those Mudcats that team was really good back in the days, ah yes I remember that Mudcats team from .... April/May of 2025. Seems like seasons ago. That team could score at will, and the pitching was average to above average with a few exceptional outings. Boy it's crazy how things change over the years ... err weeks. KC Hunt shows some signs of improvement, but he really is just not that same guy we saw dominate last season who was a complete bulldog. He is laboring to get through innings and trying to keep guys off the bases. Just a different look, feel and body language.
  4. This is a problematic move. I mean I get calling up Miz, but with the way the starting pitching has been going, you have a bunch of options here - 1. Put Civale in the 'pen against his wishes, which is what they chose, and you get a trade request which immediately lowers his return (teams won't overpay for a guy who wants out). 2. Go with a 6 man rotation for a bit - try to get more innings out of each starter in the process knowing someone will have start skipped or a IL stint given what has been going on. 3. Piggyback him with a Priester or Miz and let Civale be an opener or a multi-inning piggyback starter. I would think options 2 or 3 would have worked and bought time to see what develops while secretly shopping Civale or Quintana. Options 4 - just trade any veteran, punt on this year and focus on 2026-2028 when most key players and prospects should be in the MLB and under contract.
  5. Man - I have no interest in trying to go back and watch any of these games. I think in the 2-3 years I've been following here, tonight feels the emptiest, and in fact the past few weeks seem like the toughest, MOSTLY based on expectations. With Hardin not as sharp for the 2nd straight start (and what 3rd of 4 maybe), and the Muddies just flat out struggling, and even Biloxi blowing a lead. Sheesh, rough few weeks I think. I mean Hardin is doing great, and Biloxi has had such a run this first half, so expectations are so high that when we don't get walkoffs, or shutouts, or a few young prospects getting a hot streak it feels like it is a let off. I know - need to celebrate the fact that the season is a success so far. But still want to see a few players just go into the next level mode for more than a week. And would love to see some pitchers getting back healthy. Maybe Biloxi can still sneak out a comeback win tonight.... I guess the draft is coming soon, so there is that to look forward to. Still looking for those 2-3 DSL players to declare themselves and be the next of the Lara, Areinamo, Made, Pena, Anderson clan who will come stateside (ACL or rarely Carolina). Any players caught anyone's eyes down in the DSL?
  6. Grrrr. A single and it’s tied. Winning run only 90 feet away. Needs a K and a DP here.
  7. That’s a bad time for the first walk given by a shuckers pitcher. It’s 2 on, 0 out nursing a 9-8 lead. C’mon Yeager let’s get outta this please….
  8. Nadal - demoted to ACL - does he sulk? No sir. Hits a 2 run bomb in his second at bat. 2-1 Baby Crew.
  9. Langhorne Ks Sirota and gets Hope to fly out deep and it’s a W. TRats now 2 games over.500. Heck yeah
  10. Ugh. Two on and no out for Biloxi trying to get insurance runs and Spain and Adams K. Then Boeve grounds out. Dang. Missed opportunity there. And Langhorne strikes out his first batter. Then a single, a walk and head scratcher by Guilarte. He may have had a play at first but tries to flip to 2nd base and does so poorly. Bases juiced with only 1 out. Yikes.
  11. Langhorne high A debut. On to try to close it out.
  12. Areinamo grounds out and it’s 10-3 TRats. Perez strikes out on to the bottom of 9 in Great Lakes. Montero breaks up the “no,hitter” in Arizona. Childers goes 3 up 3 down and on to the 9th in Chattanooga. Shuckers are up let’s get some more.
  13. Huge hit there by Lara. And Shuckers get back into, the game and take the lead. Wow. Love it Arizona Crew being held hitless with one HBP. Otherwise 7 K for the first 10 batters. Ouch.
  14. Ok. Dinges swing and metrics may be better, but remember Quero is only 22, and his hitting was very good in ‘23 in Biloxi when he was 20. He had on OPS of .780 with 16 HR as a 20 year old in the Southern league. That is good offensive performance there. Maybe not as pretty as Dinges, and Marco is better hitting prospect, and I have loved his defense and his growth this year. I will be so happy if both become legit catching prospects in the system. And I respect your views Joseph, and I agree that Dinges is vastly underrated outside of this forum. We will see as Quero has a lot of questions that he will need to answer this season as he comes back from injury.
  15. Definitely controversial, but I understand. Through no fault of his own, Quero sustained a serious injury last year, and his defense will be under scrutiny and his hit tool will need some work with the layoff. But his star was so bright in ‘22-‘23. But Dinges is the first real catching prospect the Brew have since Quero made his mark in those ‘22-‘23 seasons. And … checks notes … there is a good catcher in the bigs … good problem to have. It will be interesting to compare these notes at the end of the year and see where Quero and Dinges settle in for the ‘25 season.
  16. First four Zona Crew batters all out via K. In fact of the first 7 outs in this game for both sides, 6 are via K.
  17. What a start for him. Wonder how many innings he will go?? And in Chattanooga, it’s a bases loaded scenario and Spain hits into a 1-2-3 GIDP to end the threat. That just stings.
  18. Dinges bomb and TRats up 9–0 now. His 3rd HR in 17 A+ games. Yessir.
  19. Yes. Losing Alstre and then Dinges to promotions. Adamczewski injured. Missed time by Peña and Made. And big slumps by Bitonti and Payne along with a regression by DiTuri and that offense is so much less potent and dominant.
  20. Shuckers trying to get back into this after Spain double makes it a 8-6 deficit. C'mon boys, let's get going here.
  21. Mudcats can't rally back. After a single by Rodriguez, it is grounder, K, and fly out. Made and Payne both with 3K tonight. Not great
  22. Ugh. A 5-0 lead has evaporated and is now turning ugly as a WP makes it 8-5 Chattanooga. Wow what a promising first couple of innings that just turned south for Biloxi. T-Rats still in command for now. Carolina can't get the offense going and down 5-1 in the top of the ninth. Will need an early season, relentless Mudcats rally here.
  23. Not sure I've seen that before, but Petersen (who is in for Wich in the 5th against Chattanooga) has given up double, single, single and sac bunt on 4 pitches. Each batter swung (double, single) or bunted (single, sac) on the first pitch. Pretty unusual.
  24. That line up is so diluted now, and with the major slumps of Payne and Bitonti, it is asking too much to just have Made and Pena be the only offense. Will look better if/when Adamczewski returns and if some of the other younger players (Lameda, Anderson among others) can get going offensively. But that early season Payne-Pena-Made-Adamczewski-Dinges-Bitonti-DiTuri-Alastre line up was pretty fierce.
