  1. I'd want Marcum if he is healthy. For sure.
  2. I like what you did with the thread title. Nice work.
  3. I didn't see Buster Olney on any of the major awards ballot lists. I kind of figured he would get a NL MVP ballot and I was curious to see where he put Braun. Oh well, that kind of skepticism/contempt isn't healthy any way...
  4. To review the writers' ballots just go to the BBWAA website, they're all there. Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star Telegram voted for Rodney. Kurkjian voted for Kimbrel.
  5. AHH! Now I understand what all the hype is about. Thanks TLB!
  6. So in the past 2 weeks, Dan Uggla has been one of the top 5 most searched players on Rotoworld's MLB page. Why are so many people interested in Dan Uggla? There are no rumors surrounding his offseason that I'm aware of. So, again I pose the question that is too dumb to ask anywhere else: Why are so many people interested in Dan Uggla?
  7. I think we have our 1st nickname candidate for Olmsted courtesy of SoxProspects.com: "This town needed El Guapo Blanco." http://www.milb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_519092.jpg
  8. Maybe one shouldn't use games played as a negative for counting stats, but I believe games played should matter for the MVP. If Trout had only played in those 81 games, he was completely irrelevant for 1/2 the season, no matter what ridiculous line he put up when he did take the field. The MVP is supposed to reward the most relevant player for his team and the league during a 162 game season. No, it's not Trout's fault that he missed only 14% of the season, but he still didn't play in those games. I see that Cabrera's only real case is the counting stats, and Trout provides everything else, so the few games that Trout actually did miss shouldn't cost him the MVP, but it does count in my opinion. I think it's really close, and yes, I believe that Cabrera should win the MVP. The rest of my reasons are probably just "awful."
  9. I was slightly worried about Posey when I saw Prince round 3rd. Nice tag.
  10. You're probably right, but I was making more of an anti-Cardinals jest, rather than start a serious transactions proposal thread. Should have been half-blue.
  11. Would you play him ahead of Weeks, Segura, or Ramirez? How about as the new Counsell, and sub into the regular lineup vs. the Cards?
  12. So, if Ralphie is the Brewers (and their fans), and the bully is the Cardinals, then I assume all of the kids at the fence are the rest of the NL, and the bully's friend is TLR. Who is the lady who finally pulls Ralphie off of the bully? The Commish?... Hmmm.. I feel better. Also: Is Marco Scutaro the magic weapon the Brewers need next year?
  13. Fixed that for you. Thanks Hawing, I wasn't sure if I was pushing the forum etiquette by wishing illness on someone, but I figured, "come on, it's McCarver!"
  14. It was really nice to see Chris Carpenter get knocked around last night and to see him nice and quiet (not cursing at other players on the mound and excusing it for "yelling at himself") with that stupid look on his face. On the other hand, it is really hard to watch Giants fans celebrate. The Cards aren't dead yet... Get more runs!!! Also: Now would be a good time for Tim McCarver to come down with a simple case of Laryngitis.
  15. To Tim McCarver: We REALLY don't care what you think... I hate Cris Carpenter and I hate the Cardinals and I won't feel better until they lose or until McCarver and Buck give up calling baseball games. Breathe.... Phew!
  16. And to pile on, Cardinals fans chime in on how "classless" your fans are for throwing things onto the field. I hate the Cardinals.
  17. I have to listen to these TBS playoff games on the gameday audio. At least I have Jim Powell... Ahhh!!!
  18. I just saw that the Nationals will start Chien-Ming Wang against the Brewers on Sunday. Hopefully that'll help.
  19. There is a small article in the JSOnline today that talks about TLR's new autobiography "The Last Strike." Ugh.. Just go away Tony! I don't know why anyone would ever feel the need to sit down and make yourself feel angry by reading it? Maybe it would have a use in the bathroom? Anyway, here is a small bit of it quoted in the article by Bob Wolfley... "On Aug. 2, the Cardinals beat the Brewers, 8-7, in a game in which Pujols was hit in the seventh inning by a pitch that was high and tight. "We felt we had to send a message to the Brewers," La Russa says. "In the bottom half of the inning, we had Jason Motte hit Ryan Braun, the eventual MVP of the league. He did what we taught and hit Braun square in the back, thereby minimizing any chances of injury. Tempers flared, but I did what I had to do then, we went about it the right way, and I stand by that decision today."
  20. Who is this Travis? And what have you done with our backup 1st baseman? Ueck just called Aoki- Ishikawa. "Line single by Ishikawa, and here comes Ishikawa to score." Umm... Ueck... Nevermind.
  21. Thanks, that makes it much more clear. I didn't realize there was another labrum in the hip. I had assumed you were referring to a shoulder labrum. Nonetheless, the Dodgers need to beat the Cards! We can only hope Chris Carpenter will have to explain something to his son when he comes back to pitch.
  22. Source? All I've read is that he'll miss at least a start with hip inflammation. I haven't heard anything about a torn labrum. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/378207/kershaw-officially-will-miss-sundays-start
  23. FYI: According to Joe Block: The Timber Rattlers are tied 2-2 in the 10th in their 1st game of the Midwest League Championship.
  24. That might be, but from what I've heard, BAL isn't getting very good attendance, and aren't even close to selling out.
