  1. The OF shuffle makes some sense. Morgan may not be in MIL after this season, Aoki should be. CF is Aoki's natural position in Japan, and the coaches probably just want another look at him in Center. My guess is that it is as simple as that. The season isn't in the balance to need to worry about guys playing slightly out of position. Edit: Contrast that to playing Kotsay in CF in the NLCS. That still boggles my mind.
  2. Yes, I know. I guess I was referring to your comment on the AL. I thought you were saying that Marcum wouldn't survive in the AL (which is what I thought when the O's picked up Wolf). Now I'm guessing that you are thinking an NL team would claim Marcum before an AL team could get him. (I think the confusion was the Make it to the AL vs. Make it in the AL. That is all.
  3. 11 strikeouts for the pitching staff tonight! Keep it up boys.
  4. That's what I thought about Wolf.
  5. To clarify: I actually haven't seen Maldy on TV or live for awhile, I'm just relaying what I heard Ueck say. Probably just being Ueck. (Didn't mean to jump on Martin).
  6. Regarding Maldonado: Ueck just said to look for Maldy to lose a few pounds next spring.
  7. 'Stache, I tend to agree about your ESPN/Brewers/Braun bias (Conspiracy theory). Why does it seem that they always skip MIL in the scores on the radio in the morning. They read all the other scores. Curious.
  8. Congrats Jeff Bianchi! 1st ML HR, against the Cubs, that's the way to start a Brewers career!!!
  9. Would Martin Perez and Leonys Martin be too much for Greinke? Just curious.
  10. Wil Nieves hit a home run?!?!?!? Heard him interviewed on the Rockies pre-game show the other night. His excuse for sucking with the Brewers was only getting a few at-bats a week. Right Wil You go on and believe that. Good grief.
  11. The overuse of the word "amazing." That is all.
  12. I have only heard a handfull of games so far this year, because I'm working in the Arizona desert, but I'll give my 1st impression of Mr. Block. I think I like him. So far, I think he's better than Provus. I know he's young, but my 1st impression is that he kind of reminds me of a young Jon Miller. Despite his flair for the dramatic, I've always respected Jon Miller as a play-by-play guy. I'll second the opinion that his delivery seems smooth. I'll keep listening, and hope he develops a repoire with Ueck.
  13. Good for Scooter! I was at yesterday's game vs the White Sox, and Scooter was the last one on the field after the game, he must have spent at least a 1/2 hour signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans. Keep it coming kid!
  14. Alright, here's a teaser from AZ for winter Wisconsinites: I went to the game today... Gorgeous weather today! This morning was really windy, but it calmed down to nothing by game time. I watched Wolf and Lucroy warm up pre-game, and I asked Luc from the railing if he was going to catch Randy this year. All I got back was a single head nod. I don't know if it was a "what's up" nod or an affirmative answer. So, basically I didn't get a real answer, and so my attempt at being a sports reporter fails I was curious as to why Weeks and Hart weren't there, but now I have the answer Braun got a decent reception his 1st AB, with about 1/2 of the Brewer's fans standing. Conrad made a nice play up the middle, but Gamel couldn't dig it out of the dirt. (Sample size= 1.) Alex Gonzalez looked like Alex Gonzalez with the bat, and Wolf escaped some deep flies and fouls off the bat of Brandon Belt. I didn't see Aoki make any plays in the field, but he backed up Gomez on a deep fly to center. Morgan was trying to bunt with a runner on 1st and 2 outs, but struck out. Oh well, it's spring training. Kjelgaard is a huge human being! Pretty ho-hum game, with the Giants S.S., but getting to see Fiers pitch, Gamel play 1st, and Aoki bat was pretty nice. I did get to see Doug Melvin while I was waiting in line for the bathrooms. He was bundled up in a thicker jacket despite temps in the 80s.

  16. I guess I'm not so bothered by what Kurkjian said, because he is assuming what we already do, that Braun will be suspended. What really bugs me, (maybe this belongs in the appropriate off topic thread) is guys like Mike Golic and Buster Olney who make judgements about what Braun should do/have done with the MVP before the case is settled and before they actually know anything. It's the rush to judgement that ESPN has been facilitating ever since they published the leaked report that shouldn't have been leaked in the first place. That's just poor taste in my opinion, and dare I say "unclassy?"
  17. I guess that Bill Hall wrote on his twitter account that he has signed a deal with the Yankees. No confirmation from the organization yet. Sniff. http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/frown.gif
  18. I believe he was referring to this article on JSonline, Rotoworld-Marcum Sorry, that didn't work, I'm guessing because of JSonline's new pay-per views, but here is Rotoworld citing the JSonline blog about Marcum. Just go to "Marcum working on altering delivery" and click on the Milwaukee JS link at the bottom of Marcum's page. That should work.
  19. I was offered a temporary field biologist position based out of Phoenix today. On my list of pros and cons whether to accept the position, I'll admit that the chance to attend my first ever spring training leads the "pros" list. Hmmmm...
  20. Just.....Purely...Awesome! The entire thread should now be closed, with this being linked on the main page. I don't know where/who came up with this, but I am in awe. Thanks dude. you just made my offseason.
  21. Yuck. I'm sorry, but signing one of my most disliked former Cubs after the whole Braun mess feels like washing down green Nyquil with red Nyquil. Blech.
  22. C'MON Casey! How about dumping one the opposite way to right eh?
  23. Yo is doing a good job of minimizing the damage without good command tonight. It could have been worse than the 3 runs, maybe he can get through one more inning.
