  1. ...that's what I thought I implied...20/20 hingsight, but Teddy was a killer.
  2. Over the history of the team, I say that re-signing Teddy might have been worse (not that I opposed it at the time), Hammonds made much, much less sense at the time. The dollars are way different now, but Roy Howell wasn't worth and Ben McDonald was really illogical given where they were "competitive wise" at that time. I'll put those up as equal to worse then Soup.
  3. I'll admit that while I wished it was one year less, I was down with the deal. Again, it went back to the near desperation at that time for starting pitching...seems familiar.
  4. If he gets it, more power to him...but wow...
  5. What did the Senator pay for the team? I have to believe he has made some coin on the increase in value over the years.
  6. But are they really better markets then Milwaukee? They may be, just don't seem to stand out as much more viable. I didn't know the KC arena was an NBA-Level arena.
  7. Ok, how about Jeffery Hammonds or for you ond-school fans; Roy Howell?
  8. They could, but you have to have a viable place to end up if you leave Milwaukee. Not sure where that would be right now.
  9. Here might be the "one-year high-risk" guy others are interested in. Might be worth it if the contract can mostly be based upon performance.
  10. Isn't Garland a "better" sign then Wolf? Guess I'm wrong, but that is what I thought going into the off-season.
  11. I'd like a 2nd lefty, but regardless the 'pen should be pretty solid.
  12. Man, winter is stupid.
  13. Good role for Danny G in this game would be to play hockey "enforcer" V KG.
  14. Jeff could help out there...our hurt less.
  15. Wow...testing the testers... I live near Menards-Actual; the nerve center of the Empire.
  16. I just don't want the 'Crew to approach games where they just give up a roster spot on the bench and say "well we can't use our back-up catcher..."
  17. If the manager will do things such as use one of the catchers to PH, or PH or a cathcer as needed...as well as PR; et al...then count me in.
  18. I just wonder if over the life of Target Field; if some sort of roof makes an apperance.
  19. I'll go to it and then be more thankful for MP. I hate the Twins, so I'll just dislike the place on those grounds. Seriously, glad MP went up when it did. No other teams have put up the retractable roof since.
  20. Padilla might be worth a shot.
  21. Just my 2-cents, but I consider Bud a personal hero in him bringing baseball back to Wisconsin and doing what he could to keep it going here. Not a guy w/o flaws, but has my gratitude. As Comish, I think he did the best anyone could while trying to avoid (another) blow-out with the union.
  22. Guys I wonder if in a "normal" year Lopez would have been offered arby, but given the economic down-turn...I'm wondering if this is the wave of the next two years or so. DM, might be thinking that the market will be so depressed he can do as well or better much cheaper and the pick isn't worth it. Might not be a "given" that Lopez would have declined.
  23. Montreal beat Saskatchewan 28-27 last night in the Grey Cup. The Alouettes kicked the game winning FG from 33 yards out with no time left. Monteal had missed a 43-yd kick on the previous play, but Saskatchewan had to many men on the field, so Montreal got the second chance and won the game...I pull for the Roughriders, so I'm not amused.
  24. I'd think Pudge, just on his name, will sign for more then the 'Crew wants to spend. I'd suspect the catchers for 2010 are already in the stable, whomever they shake out to be.
  25. Redd looks like he can't move the way he would like. Not ready to play yet. They really miss a jump shooter. As far as Luke, I'm really glad they kept him. The guy fills a roll and seems to be pretty selfless.
