  1. Ryan Braun lifts and seperates the ball from MP.
  2. I hated Fan Tarkington as a kid. I think I still hate him. The Clowns that took 99.9 the CARP off-the-air in Eau Claire. Erica Kane; All My Children.
  3. Gary Sheffield.
  4. Ah, nothing like a USSR Style-purge.
  5. Maybe that person meant to give Jason "ice."
  6. 'The ESPN board goes in cycles. The "founding founders" of brewerfan were all initially ESPN refugees as well." ...I'm resisting a Final Five reference, here.
  7. I found BF in the early part of 2003. That was the end of ESPN for me. For some dark humor I'll wade into the black hole of the JS boards. About 10-minutes is all I can take.
  8. "I think part of it is Parra isn't allowed or is afraid to shake off Kendall. And Kendall believes that Parra has to throw all his pitches even when one might not be working so he can "have it later"..." I agree with this, greatly. I wonder if Manny is taking more care throwing what he is might like in certain situations more so? I've often wondered why catchers 'get' to tell the pitcher what to throw, anyway.
  9. Ah...the memories of 2003. Winning ten games in a row was seriously cool.
  10. Im guessing that Smith and Vargas are going to throw no matter what.
  11. Just my 2-cents, but I see the 2009-10 team shaping up as team that should be decent on defense and might struggle to score. Lots of "athletic" players the fit multiple positions. Would seem to be more of a team that Scott likes to coach. Redd and Bogut are going to have to provide consistent offense.
  12. Robin 19 in with some logic...that kills some good ranting! Unless it was a pitcher signed thru 2010, it would have made little sense to flip Gamel, et al. As Peavey points out...it would have taken more then our top 2 position players in AAA. Sometimes you can't chase the cards from a deck that simply are not there.
  13. I think my greater point here is if the white flag goes up, how many of these vets who are soon to be FA does DM unload? Could be none if sort-of-hanging-on is important, or could be lots of them and get back whatever you can (and save a few coins). Since most of those guys, like CC or Hoffman, are FA...they certainly could be signed up again for 2010. The player goes to a contender, 'Crew gets some A or AA-ball fringy player and a few bucks are saved. Just throwing this out there.
  14. Is it safe to assume (given the 'Crew's current state) DM will use August to unload his vets that are going to be free agents? Kendall, Hoffman and Looper for example?
  15. Indians did a pretty nice job the past few days.
  16. I sort of thought the same thing about the Reds, but figured I must be confused.
  17. Guess the Red Soxs wanted to really cover their 1st/DH/C/PH bases.
  18. Unless it is a pitcher under contract for 2010, I have very little interest.
  19. I wanted Arroyo the last time (Lyle trade).
  20. Would this be an equivalent trade to acquiring David Bell?
  21. I really have issue with him spending 18 years or so saying he didn't bet baseball...then just before Paulie has his moment, this tool has to push his new book and "admit" to betting on baseball. I use to be for reinstatement...that tipped me the other way.
