  1. The Violent Femmes were also a part of either decade surrounding the 90s but I could see the nice Milwaukee connection there.
  2. I agree with most posters here. I think Jeter is a HOFer for sure. I think the intangibles (ambassador/same team/etc) is the reason why he was almost unanimous. For all the issues of the HoF, it's well known that it's all not stat based. That being said, other than some talking heads, I dont think anybody 20 years from now will care that much how many votes Jeter got.
  3. Yep. Here is the link to the MLBTR page: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/01/marlins-rangers-reportedly-finalists-to-sign-pedro-strop.html I'm relieved. I wanted nothing to do with a big league deal for this guy. Not to mention that Strop probably wouldn't be a good deal if there is 3 other teams bidding on him.
  4. Ahh, this is peak schadenfreude. Gives me the warm fuzzies. Unfortunately, he's not playing anymore, so he can't be heckled incessantly. There's always next years golf event.
  5. How many people still call it County Stadium? Note to self. Please double check if all O's are in place
  6. Nice Course Correction for the 2nd half.
  7. All in all despite the poor performance tonight. The Packers had a helluva season. Not disappointed at all.
  8. This is what I feel Packers fans are thinking.
  9. Apparently my snark wasn't that snarky, as Cruickshank visited Rutgers this week. Which, of course, begs the question as to why he would make this move... You forgot the [sarcasm]blue[/sarcasm]
  10. I had to look it up because I wasnt sure if the Lions won at all while I was alive (I'm 35) Turns out their 1 win was in 91 against the Cowboys followed by 9 losses over the following 28 years. Oof. Really excited for Sunday. When they kickoff, they will be 1 of 3 teams left standing.

    Pizza

Ditto on the Cauliflower crusts and while good, I do not consider it pizza. Just like how I like turkey bacon but do not consider it all to be real bacon.

    Pizza

Reticent? I thought about mentioning Pizza hut as a joke... I'm thinking "remiss." So, I grew up in Monroe in the 1980s, when Pizza Hut was the bomb. Now it's only a gut bomb. *rimshot* Nowadays, the SO is diabetic and is reluctant to go overboard on pizza, and I'm not likely to order a full pie for myself. But - the original Ian's location on Frances in Madison is a 5 minute walk away from our libraries and we both enjoy a slice or two there. For SO to opt for frozen pizza at home, he pretty much needs a nutrition label to make sure it doesn't whack out his carb count, so we most often get Di Giorno. Not in bulk or anything. Earlier in our time in Madison, we lived near the first Pizza Extreme location, and used to regularly get their taco pizza. That was a good pie. There's no way SO would eat that much carbness in one meal anymore, and again, I'm not ordering a full pie for myself. But there are times I'd opt for that taco pizza again if it were practical. Another location is not far from our current house, so I experience no shortage of temptations. Rocky's...is a pie I got tired of after the fall semester 1985, when I ordered a sausage slice every Monday and Wednesday before I went to work at my college library gig. We more often go for the salad bar, which for that kind of establishment is more solid than you'd think. I do like Rocky's breadsticks, though. Remiss. That's the word I was looking for. Its been a long week.
  13. I seem to remember Gagne being booed mercilessly at Miller Park the last couple months he was a Brewer. Not to mention the "Gag Me" nickname
  14. I mentioned execution earlier. Obviously important for the players, but applies to coaches too. In a game like this, burning timeouts early, not using your challenges properly, decisions to go for it on 4th down...all those decisions will really matter. We'll need all o that to win, including Rodgers A game. You mean we shouldn't fake punt it on our own 30? I agree it comes down to just as much playcalling and game plan as is actually running the plays.

    Pizza

I'd be reminiscent as a Brewers fan who watches the game on TV to not acknowledge Pizza Ranch in a discussion about pizza places.
  16. Eesh. I agree, if that's true Penn State better be seeing Armageddon
  17. This year the Packers O/U was 6/10. With the caveat that I never really paid attention to the O/U all year but that seems off.
  18. If you include pick 6's Winston threw more TDs than anybody else this year.
  19. Vitale was out so that probably affected their packages at least.
  20. Those were pretty successful people. Especially the GM. You don't just replace people who build championship teams from scratch. I guess I'm thinking if the Astros got busted with lesser penalties, the coach and GM might still have been fired.
  21. I have heard that the Brewers are very wary of adding contracts beyond the current CBA (which runs through 2021). It doesn't mean we won't add someone beyond 2 years - but it's unlikely. This is very fringy information (know someone who knows someone type of stuff) - so don't take it as gospel. It does, however, gel with how this off season has been going with regards to roster construction. Coming from an ignorant perspective, what changes could be made to the CBA that would dictate not wanting contracts to leak out into the new contract?
  22. I'd be fine even calling him down by contact if it means at least acknowledging who picked up the ball.
  23. I'm beginning to see a trend in Wisconsin sports fandom of seemingly more and more lack of confidence in the teams.
  24. Given the firing of those two, it does seem like the penalty is alot lighter.
  25. If my math is right, our 2019 actual WAR total was 37.0, 4.8 lower than the posted 41.8 WAR
