  1. ^Yeah, but this is like batting Kendall leadoff and having him play shortstop.
  2. It's blacked out in Iowa as well. It's nice to see how Wolf magically turns into Cy Young when Nieves catches him. Good thing he doesn't have to deal with Lucroy, that young punk.
  3. Way to go MLB. Blacked out for me. Is anybody in the typical blackout zone able to watch the game?
  4. I need some good vibes after seeing Kotsay in CF. 1) Shaun Marcum has been great. Zach Greinke is Zach Greinke. Randy Wolf has been a very good #4 this season. Narveson has been a very good #5. 2) Lucroy is a very good young catcher, far more exciting to watch than any Brewers catcher in recent years. 3) Rickie Weeks has continued to strike the ball with authority. 4) Nyjer Morgan and Carlos Gomez are two of the best defensive CF'ers I've ever watched.
  5. Can we please start a Ron Roenicke rant thread? Why is Melvin okay with this Kotsay? And to those who will say this is just one game and we shouldn't worry, at what point should we worry about Roenicke's decisions? Every stupid move like this decreases the expected number of games the Brewers win this season, and where the Brewers are right now they can't be throwing away games to this Kotsay. Macha NEVER did anything near this stupid. He may have had the social skills of a fencepost, but the guy at least had some common sense.
  6. I have officially given up on Ron Roenicke. He has absolutely no understanding of how to field the best team given a roster. I'm fine with Lucroy getting the day off, but why Gomez? Roenicke has now made me believe he is an idiot. Edit: How many runs below average (rough guess) is this lineup defensively? Could this be a record? Weeks: -5, Braun: -10, Kotsay: -30, Hart: -5, Fielder: -5, McGehee: -5, Betancourt: -10, Nieves: 0, total: -70. Unfortunately, I think I'm being generous.
  7. Ouch. Just went for a ten minute walk with the dog to see the updated score. Why can't they just give us fans a night off?
  8. ^I love it. I should probably take my dog outside, I think he needs to grab a Kotsay.
  9. Is this Lucroy's 2nd or 3rd idiotic baserunning gaffe? Man this crap is frustrating. JUST STAY ON YOUR BASE!!!
  10. I still don't like Gomez in the two hole (or Betancourt in front of Hart, or Lucroy in the 8th spot), but for Runnin' Ron I'll consider this a step in the right direction.
  11. I imagine he still has a bit of motivation, as he will be a FA this offseason. Even if he rakes he still probably won't see much this offseason, but he might be delusional. No, I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, unless one of Prince, Braun, or Hart goes down for the season within the next couple weeks. Still, I probably wouldn't touch him. He has been horrible the past two seasons, and he was mediocre in his only season with the ScRubs.
  12. http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/50513_102648167742_1262_n.jpg SAVE ME GREINKE!!!!!!!!!!!! 2B Rickie Weeks CF Carlos Gomez LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee SS Yuniesky Betancourt RF Corey Hart C Jonathan Lucroy P Zack Greinke Well, I really don't understand moving Gomez out of the 8-hole, but it's nice to see Hart back in there.
  13. Another big day for Gamel, now .316/.386/.518/.903. Strikeouts are down, and it's really nice to see him on this little power surge. I wouldn't have any problem seeing the Brewers inquiring about Ka'aihue. His AAA numbers are downright comical, and if he could just find a way to get it together in the majors, he could be very good. Then again, there seem to be quite a few guys who fit that mold.
  14. No, because Hart is far more likely to clear the bases than Counsell. By sending Counsell up, the Brewers are far more likely to also need a hit from Weeks. The odds of Hart clearing the bases are far greater than the odds of Counsell Single + Weeks hit.
  15. Where is Corey Hart? This is horrible. Unless Roenicke was posturing when he said Hart is healthy, this makes me believe he is completely clueless. Here's to hoping Counsell makes me sound silly.
  16. Dreckman's corners are horrible today. Hopefully he misses a few in the Brewers' favor.
  17. Can we put a leash on Lucroy? That sounded pretty ugly.
  18. After Drew Stubbs lead off the Reds-Cubs game with a double, Dusty had Renteria bunt him over. At least Roenicke doesn't do that.
  19. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif I live in Iowa so of course it's blacked out. We get neither FSN-MO nor FSN-WI and both the Cardinals and Brewers are always blacked out. The same goes for the Royals, Twins, Cubs, and White Sox, although CSN-Sports is typically available here, so that's understandable. I may have to think about purchasing MLBTV once we move south. Of course, that would probably make me horribly unproductive.
  20. "It's not that Corey needs the day off. I just wanted to give 'Kots' another game." If this is true, is it too early to start a "fire Ron Roenicke" thread? Ridiculous.
  21. I seriously hope he's not serious. If Gomez isn't injured, he does not need a day off. He's 25 years old and an exceptional athlete. C'mon man. If Gomez tweaks something and needs a few days, both Hart and Boggs would be far better in CF than Kotsay. Hart is below average in RF but tolerable; Kotsay is horrendous. If he is serious about this, he is completely clueless. Kotsay in CF would trump just about any of Yost's dumbest moves.
  22. I don't know craigharmann, I'm only okay with that if they throw in Mejia.
  23. No, it's not. That's Rebecca Black before Rebecca Black.
  24. 70 degrees and sunny, Brewers win, windows open, Verlander no-no. Great Saturday for baseball!
  25. 1 BB, 4 K's I'm not one to worship the no-no, but man is it fun to hear the 9th inning of a no-no on the radio. Threw a 100 MPH fastball in the last at-bat.
