  1. Love the show. Just got to Patrick's proposal. Their relationship just doesn't click for me but I suppose I kind of feel the same way about Alexis and Ted too. They seem like way too different of people to be together and I feel David's character was much more interesting with him single.
  2. I've felt that for about half the series. The only character that has really evolved has been Hailey and to a lesser extent Jay. But really that was just him accepting Mitch and only took about a season.
  3. I thought the episode last week where they went through everyone's birthdays for the year was one of the best episodes in years. Ya, I thought the last episode was pretty good. And would have been perfect to end the series on. However, the show really has no direction. Haley and Dillon getting married and having kids is pretty much the only thing that happened this season. Every other character is doing nothing and going no where.
  4. Modern Family gets one more season. The last two season's finales were great episodes to end the series on. The show has really been spinning its wheels for a while, I can't imagine next year will be much better.
  5. It's more pop or hip hop. When I'm in my wife's car and forced to listen to county music I can never really be sure if I'm listening to a country station or Top 40. Lyrically, it's all just really bad parody of what people make fun of country music for being.
  6. Ya, the last few episodes have been pretty good. I still hate the "after school special" moment they seem to have in every episode now. It's totally pointless and adds nothing.
  7. I agree with this statement. When the show was on FOX, I would routinely have at least one or two loud belly-laughs per episode. This year, I've yet to really laugh much at all. A few giggles and that's been it. It almost seems like season 4 of Arrested Development where the actors were all busy and they couldn't ever get them together at the same time to shoot so each episode is like it's own side story about a character or two. I'm a couple behind but the last episode I watched had a lot of golden lines from Captain Holt trying to act undercover.
  8. This season of Brooklyn 99 has been rather meh. There's been way too many episodes which almost entirely focus on one character and whatever their "personal struggle" is at the moment. It's a comedy, make me laugh. If I wanted the feels I'd watch This Is Us or some crap like that.
  9. Thought about watching Boom in the Valley and then reading this prompted me to do so. Ya, the format is weird. I think I like it but the skits/re-enactment parts make me feel like they're just making stuff up sometimes. Maybe that's their intent though, that some of this stuff is so crazy you can't make it up. As a huge fan of The Who I knew some of the Michael Fenne/David Kim Stanley story as they (along with KISS and some other major musicians) were unwittingly part of his largest scam. So I'm kind of looking forward to how much of that they cover.
  10. While I don't think it will be, the season finale of South Park felt a lot like a series finale. I think they may have even referenced my theory that they used this season to try and get cancelled when the boys said something like "everything gets cancelled because people get offended but no matter what we do we can't get people mad enough to get cancelled" and then lamenting about "how much longer can we do this?"
  11. Yup. Last year will probably be the best offensive year of his career. His rate stats from the first half of last year were only slightly better than his career line, but still well above average. It's not a knock of Christian at all, he was simply hitting at a level that can't be maintained by anyone. All the bandwagon fans that jumped on around September are going to be disappointed that he's not prime Barry Bonds for all 162 games every year.
  12. This 100%. It will be interesting to see how Yelich will be perceived next year when he's OPS'ing .825-.850 instead of 1.000. Still a very, very good player but not the HOF'er he was for half of 2018.
  13. And it's been a running gag in every episode this season. I thought their mocking of it was another thing they were doing to try and get cancelled. People get offended over every thing they do but I thought making light of school shootings was an attempt to push it so far that CC would just pull the plug on them.
  14. Dina having Garrett's baby only occurred to me at the end of last season for some reason. The timing between their relationship and her pregnancy don't quite add up, but it's TV and that hasn't stopped them before. It would be quite fitting for Glenn and his hard luck character and he and his wife would probably raise the kid as their own anyway. The whole pregnancy storyline doesn't seem to have much of a payoff unless there's a twist at the end and that would certainly be a twist with having a little bit of logic to it. To me, the commercials and the little bit of the pilot I watched when they released it for I Feel Bad look horrible. No interest in watching that show. I barely have enough to time to keep up with the shows I watch, I can't keep adding new ones. The first three episodes of South Park this season were so bad I thought the whole #CancelSouthPark marketing campaign was Matt and Trey literally sabotaging their own show because they didn't want to do it anymore. Tergrity Farms changed that. Great episode. Well, any Randy episode is great.
  15. New TV season a couple weeks in. Started watching Single Parents, as I'm a fan of Taran Killem. Ok show, I'll stick with it. Superstore has really upped their Office feel this season. Even down to the Amy/Jonah relationship mirroring Jim/Pam in lots of ways. Am I the only one thinking it will turn out to be Garrett's baby that Dina has?
  16. I posted this in today's in-game thread but it looks like he swings down on the ball. But he squares it up and hits the holes and gaps. Reminds me of prime Ichiro. I doubt he's ever a consistent 20+ HR guy with that swing. But there's nothing wrong with batting .300 with a mid .800's OPS.
  17. Disappointing. Better than most of the crap on TV. Although I had no interest in the Ronnie/British guy love story that it was clearly leading to from the first episode.
  18. No way would the Brewers have simply switched Hiura out for Diaz. Their value is no where close to the same.
  19. Finally got around to the Brooklyn 99 season finale. I guess it's going to NBC so there will be more episodes but the finale would have been a perfect way to end the series aside from the Captain Holt storyline. I get why they brought Fred Arminsen in, since I'm pretty sure his character was in the first scene of the series but I was expecting Jack Black to be the musician they found since Kyle Glass was in the episode too.
  20. How can you possibly know this? Seriously? Forte had said during the season they were only doing one more season and they already had the ending planned out. This group of masked people was obviously leading to however it is going to end. Ya, I suppose they could have stretched the storyline out for a full 20 or so episodes but unless they filled it with flashbacks and/or side story episodes I just don't see how they could make a watchable season. But I guess that has basically been the MO of the show. So many episodes are just filler and wheel spinning that don't go anywhere. I really want to find out what's going to happen to the gang and I'd rather get 10 solid episodes that push the story forward than 20 mediocre episodes with irrelevant crap.
  21. Mad as hell about Brooklyn 99 being cancelled. I'm a few episodes behind but with Jake and Amy's wedding ending the season (I assume) I guess the series will have reached a logical conclusion. Last Man on Earth was reaching it's end and there's no way they could put together a full season's worth of episodes to end it. It needs like 6-8 more to get a proper finish.
  22. How many times have you watched season 4? Everyone that I've spoken to who's seen it (myself included) didn't really like it the first time they watched it. After second and more viewings it gets much better. It's tough to put everything together the first time through. Once you've seen the whole thing through and watch it again the jokes and story make more sense. Yes, the season has been recut into a serial format and I think is already on Netflix.
  23. Interesting. I did watch the 1st season, not sure how much of season 2 but then I gave up. Sounds like it's worth circling back. I can totally understand how people gave up on it. I'll just say it looks like they're leading to some sort of actual completion to the overall story, instead of just spinning their wheels in random places like most of the series.
  24. Just finished watching the latest Last Man on Earth. Overall fantastic episode and the ending left me with chills. If you're one of the many people who enjoyed it at the beginning and dropped out after a couple seasons (I don't blame you), you may want to give the end of this season and next a shot. I've read that next season is the last and it seems like they've got something to build on for a change.
  25. Agreed. While it wasn’t like their first, it stands alone. Very, very funny. Happy for those guys to follow up what they did the first time around as they seem like quality guys. A friend saw it today and said it was terrible. I'll see when I get around to watching it in 4 or 5 years.
