  1. More TV show related but the whole or most of the "Dark Side of the Ring" documentary series is on Youtube. I've watched the first two episodes and it's pretty good.
  2. Better Call Saul is GREAT tv, and I am inclined to agree with you, or at least say they are equal in quality... I have yet to start Ozark, but it is on my list. I must be the only person left in the USA who hasn't seen any Tiger King yet. Honestly, I have no intention of doing so. The overexposure in memes and media hype is enough for me to veto the idea of watching. Haven't seen Tiger King. No interest and don't have Netflix either.
  3. Watched the Schitt's Creek finale last night. Went into it fully expecting to be filled with sadness and emotions. What an underwhelming series finale that was. Not bad, just meh. Outside of Moira's outfit, nothing memorable.
  4. This final season of Modern Family has been borderline terrible. The characters have become boring stereotypes and there are zero interesting storylines. Manny and Alex are probably the worst characters on television right now. Both have been playing the same insufferable schmucks for years and killing one or both off would be more interesting than whatever they're trying to do with them now. Hailey was one of the few characters that was actually interesting and going somewhere and now she's stuck playing the "being a mom is hard" role every episode. Mitch and Cam have the same fight and drama every week. Such lazy writing everywhere. I'll watch it till the end but I hope they put some effort in to send it off.
  5. That 70's Show is one of the most underrated shows ever. It doesn't get the love it should.
  6. Looks like you can buy the whole series on DVD for $20-$30, the cost of a couple months of Netflix. I don't understand why people are losing their minds over this.
  7. Brewers and Marlins have won the same amount of Championships since the trade. Push.
  8. Excited for The Detour to come back. The season premier was rather hum-ho and it will be interesting to see what they do now that they've completed the storyline from the first three seasons.
  9. If you are trying to win a championship, go for the All-Star. One superstar doesn't win you a championship in baseball. The Brewers only made the playoffs twice with 2 superstars with Braun and Fielder.
  10. Starting caliber players are imminently replaceable. MVP-caliber ones typically are not. Yeah, the Brewers seemingly gave up good value. They got back incredible value. Still, it appears that all 4 of these guys stand a chance of being at least MLB regulars. That is pretty rare in a quantity for quality deal like this. Kudos to the Marlins for identifying four possible/likely future contributors for a guy they needed to deal. Kudos, too, to the Brewers for having a solid and deep enough system to be able to make this deal. Makes both teams look good. Im not taking one side or the other on the trade but to say starting caliber players are replaceable is not true. Just look at some of the well below replacement level crap we've run out there over the years. And superstars mean next to nothing in baseball if there aren't quality players and depth to surround them with.
  11. Yelich is amazing and it was a great trade for the Brewers. But if all 4 of those guys become above average players, what is better, one cheapish All Star or 4 super cheap MLB starting caliber players?
  12. This isn't a dig at anyone but how do you people have the time to watch so many shows? I have like 4 or 5 that I try to keep up with but I'm generally weeks behind all of them. I'll read about some show that sounds like I would like it but ultimately decide I don't even have time for the stuff I'm already watching so I can't add any more.
  13. Love the show. Just got to Patrick's proposal. Their relationship just doesn't click for me but I suppose I kind of feel the same way about Alexis and Ted too. They seem like way too different of people to be together and I feel David's character was much more interesting with him single.
  14. I've felt that for about half the series. The only character that has really evolved has been Hailey and to a lesser extent Jay. But really that was just him accepting Mitch and only took about a season.
  15. I thought the episode last week where they went through everyone's birthdays for the year was one of the best episodes in years. Ya, I thought the last episode was pretty good. And would have been perfect to end the series on. However, the show really has no direction. Haley and Dillon getting married and having kids is pretty much the only thing that happened this season. Every other character is doing nothing and going no where.
  16. Modern Family gets one more season. The last two season's finales were great episodes to end the series on. The show has really been spinning its wheels for a while, I can't imagine next year will be much better.
  17. It's more pop or hip hop. When I'm in my wife's car and forced to listen to county music I can never really be sure if I'm listening to a country station or Top 40. Lyrically, it's all just really bad parody of what people make fun of country music for being.
  18. Ya, the last few episodes have been pretty good. I still hate the "after school special" moment they seem to have in every episode now. It's totally pointless and adds nothing.
  19. I agree with this statement. When the show was on FOX, I would routinely have at least one or two loud belly-laughs per episode. This year, I've yet to really laugh much at all. A few giggles and that's been it. It almost seems like season 4 of Arrested Development where the actors were all busy and they couldn't ever get them together at the same time to shoot so each episode is like it's own side story about a character or two. I'm a couple behind but the last episode I watched had a lot of golden lines from Captain Holt trying to act undercover.
  20. This season of Brooklyn 99 has been rather meh. There's been way too many episodes which almost entirely focus on one character and whatever their "personal struggle" is at the moment. It's a comedy, make me laugh. If I wanted the feels I'd watch This Is Us or some crap like that.
  21. Thought about watching Boom in the Valley and then reading this prompted me to do so. Ya, the format is weird. I think I like it but the skits/re-enactment parts make me feel like they're just making stuff up sometimes. Maybe that's their intent though, that some of this stuff is so crazy you can't make it up. As a huge fan of The Who I knew some of the Michael Fenne/David Kim Stanley story as they (along with KISS and some other major musicians) were unwittingly part of his largest scam. So I'm kind of looking forward to how much of that they cover.
  22. While I don't think it will be, the season finale of South Park felt a lot like a series finale. I think they may have even referenced my theory that they used this season to try and get cancelled when the boys said something like "everything gets cancelled because people get offended but no matter what we do we can't get people mad enough to get cancelled" and then lamenting about "how much longer can we do this?"
  23. Yup. Last year will probably be the best offensive year of his career. His rate stats from the first half of last year were only slightly better than his career line, but still well above average. It's not a knock of Christian at all, he was simply hitting at a level that can't be maintained by anyone. All the bandwagon fans that jumped on around September are going to be disappointed that he's not prime Barry Bonds for all 162 games every year.
  24. This 100%. It will be interesting to see how Yelich will be perceived next year when he's OPS'ing .825-.850 instead of 1.000. Still a very, very good player but not the HOF'er he was for half of 2018.
  25. And it's been a running gag in every episode this season. I thought their mocking of it was another thing they were doing to try and get cancelled. People get offended over every thing they do but I thought making light of school shootings was an attempt to push it so far that CC would just pull the plug on them.
