  1. https://www.vice.com/en/article/dypnwx/tiktokers-accused-of-starting-forest-fires-for-views-pakistan People are stupid.
  2. That's the sort of thing the ESPN-watching crowd eats up.
  3. Barely topped 60 degrees outside on the Lakeshore. Thanks Lake Michigan?
  4. He's a one pitch pitcher and if he can't throw strikes with that one pitch he's doomed. As to the reason why he can't throw strikes with it, I don't know. Last year he had spells where he couldn't find it too and the results weren't good.
  5. Hiura is almost certainly going to be a throw-in in some trade, whether before the deadline or this offseason. And if I'm running a rebuilding team, why not? Maybe he goes back to what he did his rookie year and you get a steal. Maybe he continues to suck and in that case you dump him. As a struggling former high draft pick and top prospect he's the exact kind of guy that gets traded to some team willing to plug him in everyday and see if it works.
  6. Maybe he ends up there eventually but more than likely this is typical New York "we deserve to have the best players/executives/coaches from non-coastal teams" crap that gets written all the time. I highly doubt Heyman has any more information about this than he did months ago.
  7. I don't think I could disagree with this more.
  8. That's because the media doesn't care about steroids in any sport other than baseball. NFL PED suspensions basically get shoved at the end of the new and notes section of the sports pages while most MLB players who get PED suspensions are publicly tarred and feathered.
  9. Urena was brought in because they could drop him when needed and not worry about options or messing with minor league players. Lindblom would fill that same role. I'm sure he'll get called up at some point, pitch a couple garbage time innings and be DFA'd as soon as the game is over.
  10. Wouldn't the dead ball hurt Urias pretty much the same as it has every other hitter?
  11. Coming up on 2 months of non-stop sickness. I feel halfway decent. My wife was stuffed up over Easter and got better but now she's back to being stuffed up again. On Saturday our 2 year old woke up crying with an ear infection and last night our oldest was throwing up and is now laying on the couch with a 101 fever.
  12. Do umps get 2 inches either way on safe/out or fair/foul calls too? A buffer is fine but 2 inches off the plate is ridiculous.
  13. I can't see the whole article but the opening two paragraphs don't give me a whole lot of hope the rest of the article is worth reading. The issue wasn't the call Schwarber was ejected for it was the 7 or 8 in total for both teams earlier in the game.
  14. They're hitting crappy pitching. That's an improvement over past years so it's a start.
  15. If this is what they deemed an appropriate punishment they should have banned him for life. I don't know what sort of evidence the league has that makes them think that a 2 year ban fits the crime but not kicking him out for good. This seems like a "we don't have any real proof of anything but we need good PR" suspension. I suppose it doesn't really matter since unless something drastically changes with his accusers no MLB team is ever going to sign him again anyway.
  16. I knew before applying that more than likely both jobs would have interactions with each other at some point. I had orientation for the job I accepted this morning. My first day is Monday and we will be meeting with Job B. I still haven't heard anything from Job B but I guess they're going to find out I accepeted a job elsewhere on Monday.
  17. After avoiding people for almost 2 years, I'm sure a lot of our immune systems aren't in top form right now. That probably has something to do with it.
  18. I have them all the time but these symptoms are different.
  19. I watched the AAF and XFL before they folded and enjoyed them. I haven't watched any of this and it's because I've moved past football season. The other ones started right after the NFL ended so I was still in football mode. At this point in the year I'm more interested in baseball and just not being trapped inside my house. I bet a lot of people are the same.
  20. Probably not allergies. Everyone in the house has gotten this at some point over these last 5 weeks.
  21. Fine, I'm glad he did what he did. Maybe that will teach those turds a lesson.
  22. I don't think you could allow trading draft picks with the QO in it's current form because you're going to have some team unload their first few draft picks and then sign a bunch of QO free agents with essentially no penalty.
  23. Going on five weeks of being sick now. Last week I thought I had reached the end of it but yesterday my throat started getting scratchy and my nose started running.
  24. Whatever happened to not being a dbag to your opponent? Once again, not condoning what the pitcher did but this is going to happen when you have 18-22 year olds chirping at each other and pretending to be a tough guy and no "adult" does anything to stop it.
  25. This isn't MLB news but there's that video going around of a college pitcher spearing a runner after he hit a homerun which is apparently the worse thing in the history of sports ever. While I don't condone the action I don't see how it's any different than a batter charging the mound. I'm also surprised it's taken this long for something like that to happen with the amount of trash talk and general disrespect I've seen creeping in to college baseball. Showing excitement and enthusiasm is one thing and no one should have a problem with that but staring down opponents, pointing at them, yelling obscenities, etc. has no place.
