  1. DeShaun Watson reportedly wanted to be traded to Miami to play for Flores. Watson has said he will never play for the Texans. The Texans owner has also said Watson will never play for the Texans again. Flores reportedly supported keeping Tua over trading for Watson. Lots of soap opera drama in Houston if Flores is hired.
  2. Shane McMahon was released today because of how he took control of the Rumble and messed it up.
  3. Jackson made a throwaway tweet in a joking manner. Not saying there's not truth there but that alone has zero credibility to me.
  4. If the HOF was to institute some character guidelines now that opens up the argument for players being taken out. Neither will ever happen.
  5. Lawsuit seems pretty baseless. Yes, teams bring in candidates only to fulfill the Rooney Rule. But what else are teams supposed to do when they know who they want to hire from the beginning but are still required to bring in people only to satisfy a quota? As for Flores and what he claims happened with the Dolphins, it only proves their owner is a crappy owner.
  6. Ya, whatever. Spend all the money they want. Maybe they sneak in as a wild card.
  7. Macho and Eddie. I don't think Benoit ever won it but that's my guess for the third.
  8. The Rumble could be the best PPV of the year by far, but they ruined it years ago by guaranteeing the winner a shot at a championship title at Wrestlemania which eliminates all but about 4-5 entrants. There's an old saying in marketing that "predictability is the enemy of engagement", and when you know that 25 of the 30 entrants have no chance that increases the predictability. Can't really do anything about the leaks, that's the media doing their job. If you want to make money, bet on the favorite the morning of the event. I think one of the best ones was in the late 90's when the tide was starting to turn from WCW to WWE and they grabbed a couple of guys who were just released from WCW the week leading up to the Rumble. They didn't even have entrance music for the WCW guys. Other than the times the winner wins a vacated championship hasn't it always been that way?
  9. It all depends on who they get to play QB. If they can't afford Rodgers or Wilson who else is there? Teddy Bridgewater? Nick Foles?
  10. What effect does a Tom Brady retirement have on the rest of the NFL? If he does, Tampa Bay and the whole NFC South fall into a black hole of suck. All four teams are either mediocre or terrible. The Falcons and Panthers probably should be selling off players but with the division wide open do they go the other way? Does a Brady-less Bucs force the Saints to acquire an actual QB? More importantly, does Sean Payton stick around now? I'm sure there are plenty of teams hoping he takes a year off so they can go after him for their coach after 2022. Do any of these teams make a run at Rodgers or Russell Wilson?
  11. When they blow two games in April, I'll definitely be told this is the reason. Heck, Karsay was probably the reason Hader gave up that homer to Freeman in the playoffs.
  12. Those Progressive commercials about new home owners turning into their parents hits way too close to home for me.
  13. Went with Google after we were getting spotty wifi everywhere but the room with the router. It's been about 3 years and haven't had a single issue since.
  14. The only way the majority of players would do it would be if they would be getting paid the same. There's no way a new league could raise the capital to pay the current stars or even second tier stars of MLB their current salary. You would basically have a league made up of the bottom half of every 40 man and AAA roster. That's not gonna be a great draw.
  15. I doubt losing Karsay is going to make any difference in the performance of the bullpen.
  16. Hypothetically, say I’m organizing a really nice Christmas gift for my parents and I ask my siblings to each send me $1,000 through PayPal to cover their share. Would that get reported to the IRS as income now? If it's through PayPal I would say probably. I doubt the IRS would do anything about it though. They would have to go after a few million people in that case.
  17. Technically you have to report any money you receive regardless of amount or if you get a 1099.
  18. Packers fan have been spoiled with nearly 3 decades of elite to near-elite level QB play. I chuckle when I read posters here knocking Stafford or Cousins for their good but not great play. Newsflash - this is what 28 or so other teams have had while Favre and Rodgers wore green and gold and almost certainly what Packers fans are going to have to deal with from whoever it is that replaces Arod.
  19. eBay has always reported your sales to the IRS. They only send you a 1099 if you meet certain thresholds. I do about $15,000 in sales a year and have never gotten one. I still file though.
  20. Only one guy and a Chicago writer so take it for what it's worth. But votes are most likely going to split between Rodgers and Brady so even losing just a couple is quite likely to cost Aaron the award.
  21. The Jags need to hire Jim Caldwell. He's the only coach in decades who kept the Lions from being a joke and only lost his job with the Colts because Manning got hurt and left. They can't get fancy and hire the new hot coordinator or retread with baggage like Harbaugh or O'Brien. Caldwell is safe and solid and, at the worst, won't leave the organization in a worse spot than when he was hired.
  22. Wild card weekend you have teams that finished second in their division hosted by teams with worse records who just happened to win their division. "Upsets" are expected in round 1 of the NFL playoffs. After that the better seed generally win. I doubt that has much of anything to do with the location and more to do with the better seeded team just being the better team.
  23. Take away the neck injury and add another 5 or 6 years to his career he probably gets close to 500 homeruns and certainly becomes borderline Hall of Famer. Probably my favorite Brewer hitter of all time. Big time slugger who still hit for a decent average and wasn't a K machine.
  24. Then the voters who vote for someone else for that reason should be stripped of being a voter. You can't take off the field circumstances into consideration. Isn't the whole narrative around Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz that they're bad leaders and teammates because of similar reasons? I don't see how that won't be taken into consideration by some voters.
