  1. I wish they would just skip it all together. Nothing like wasting 5 minutes before a sporting event on some stupid song.
  2. Not really MLB or 2013 but I thought this was kind of interesting. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yke0eFEdPPw/TnOO4A2Y5EI/AAAAAAAAFjM/cXY18HdWiXE/s1600/1944_BrewersSchedule_front.jpg Just a little post about the 1944 American Association Brewers' pocket schedule. http://www.borchertfield.com/2011/09/1944-schedule.html
  3. The only thing the guy has is "stuff". I.e. he throws hard but can't put it near the strike zone. He's not a pitcher. The only reason he has a major league contract is because he's left handed.
  4. They could just bench him when he comes back. I can't imagine he would want to stay if he wasn't playing and may negotiate a buyout.
  5. Overbay signed with Boston so he won't be on the bench.
  6. I'm not owed enough money to make it worth it to get a lawyer. So I don't know why he doesn't just pay me and avoid all the hassle of court and potential negative PR. I have a feeling he thinks he can just ignore me and I'll go away. If I would have found a job since he let me go that probably would be the case but now I'm very angry and very unemployed.
  7. I know of myself and at least one other employee. The other employee is owed thousands of dollars.
  8. Hate to go back to this but my case worker called me today to tell me that my case is being turned over to the county DA because my employer never responded to any of their letters. She didn't really say what exactly was going to happen and I didn't think to ask. Anyone know what will happen? Also, since I really want to make sure this guy gets everything that's coming to him do you think there would be any harm in leaking some information to the newspaper about an employer that isn't paying his employees?
  9. I think both A-Rod and the Yankees want insurance to cover his contract. The Yankees can dump him and Alex can go somewhere else. I can't imagine he actually enjoys being in New York anymore.
  10. East Coast Sports Writer Template: [big market team] is targeting [small market team] and is looking to acquire [super star player from small market team] after [small market team] only won [wins for small market team in previous season (note: number is irrelevant)] and is looking to rebuild.
  11. It's funny I was just thinking over the weekend that they should bring Lesnar back to beat the crap out of Vince to help out Paul E and they did. Get out of my head McMahon!!!
  12. This guy was on top of the world a little over 10 years ago and is now the most vilified baseball player of the 21st century after Barry Bonds. I'd have to say that A-Rod has played his last game with the Yankees. If he was smart he would just walk away completely. He doesn't need to deal with the scrutiny and criticism anymore. His legacy has been cemented and no amount of records broken will change it.
  13. If any suspensions come of this, lawsuits will be flying left and right from the MLB PA as they rightly should. Can't we just end the witch hunts and let testing sort out the "cheaters"?
  14. Corey was drafted as a first baseman and prior to 2012 he had played 2 major league games at first and 179 minor league games at first. He's only an outfielder because of Prince Fielder and Brad Nelson.
  15. Maybe this is the RH 1B. Play Ramirez at first and Gonzo at 3rd?
  16. Signing Lohse to any contract would be a terrible deal. He is not worth giving up a pick.
  17. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/01/mets-like-michael-bourn-working-to-keep-top-pick.html The Mets want to sign Micheal Bourn but want to keep their first round draft pick so they might ask for an exemption which the MLBPA would support. My response? You don't want to lose your pick, don't sign him. If MLB were to make an exception in this case this would set a terrible precedent and 29 other teams will be, and should, pretty ticked off.
  18. I'm not going to disagree that free agency is a rip off but when you can afford to buy major talent like other big market clubs it isn't so much of a rip off. Teams like the Brewers can only afford to sign middle of the road free agents who are most likely not worth the cost compared to the team's own in house and cheap options.
  19. What else can he say? "I guess I never expected to be this good. I should have never signed that deal. It cost me hundreds of millions of dollars."
  20. You mean a good half season before getting hurt?
  21. Love it. The more uniforms the better.
  22. I can't see him getting anything more than a minor league deal so why not.
  23. There's Doug and Ron's terrible/old/gritty/battler vet who will make the team out of camp and get way too many undeserved at bats. Bobby will be starting at first base after about 6 games, guaranteed.
  24. I think most people's problem with concussions and football is that the NFL is doing its best to deny any connection and shirk any responsibility. At least it is with me.
  25. I used the book that came with my guitar which only had a few open position and some barre chords and then just found tabs of the songs I liked.
