  1. What Gonzalez and Betancourt do on the field is irrelevant to them having a job when the injured players come back. They will stay on the roster because they are veterans.
  2. Could the Packers and Brewers pair up on some sort of sports network? Not like the Packers need anymore money but it would nice to piggyback on them. What about a Milwaukee sports network with the Bucks?
  3. Three good outings is not enough but it probably has convinced Ron to put him back in the 9th. Let the BS'es commence!!!
  4. Why? I'm not saying it "helps" anyone, but but continuing to pile on hit after hit and run after run does not help anyone either. Like I said, at the very least you are allowing your pitchers a chance to throw and their hitters a chance to get some ABs. There is way too much macho bs in the whole "well I'm not going to have my guys purposely make outs" crap. Use some common sense. If either side was actually having fun during that debacle they need to have their heads examined. There's no machismo involved. I'm a high school coach and last year I had a really good team with great pitching and a great offense. There were games last year that did get pretty boring as we were up by 6 or so after 2 innings and 10 runned the other team easily. Yes, it was boring and eventually wasn't fun anymore but I would never have told my players to stop trying. As a player I've been on the other end of that a few times. Games I lost by 20 or more and the most embarrassing part isn't the score it's when the other team stops trying. When a batter hits a ball in the gap and the runners just walk to the next base I felt that was a slap in the face more than them playing it out.
  5. He may slowly be converting me but I still don't like the signing. The money and first round pick would better serve the franchise than 3 seasons of Lohse.
  6. As long as the winning coach emptied his bench I have no problem with it. I would have a problem with the winning coach if he told his players to purposely try and make outs though. That helps no one
  7. I wish they would renovate their fans first.
  8. If that is your take from my post I don't think it is going to be worth discussing this with you. An AL pitcher gets under 10 PA a year, do you really think they should be up there hitting? Do you honestly feel they are prepared to the point that is actually safe? Your counterpoint has nothing at all to do with anything I said. A pitcher at the plate has the same chance of getting hurt as a position player. Your point is based on nothing but opinion.
  9. MLB Network keeps showing a replay from the Padres dugout where everyone rushes onto the field except for one guy who waits until everyone is on the field and then promptly runs into the clubhouse.
  10. I believe it was after his second or third major league game. Segura is no where near the level of players you mention and probably never will be. I think he'll be good but not good enough that a team like the Brewers should lock him up long term.
  11. So because pitchers aren't good hitters they shouldn't have to hit? A good number of starting middle infielders and bench players shouldn't have to hit either then using that logic. Heck, the Brewers bullpen shouldn't have to pitch then too.
  12. Adding the DH to the NL will only further hurt small market teams. That's another position to fill. Another 5+ million to a payroll that can't be spent elsewhere. I've seen the argument that there aren't many "pure" DH's anymore in baseball but there will be if there are 15 more DH positions created and they will get expensive.
  13. If that call is made at any point other than the last out of the game it barely gets noticed.
  14. Even if WWE intends for him to be a heel he's not going to get booed because he's going against Cena. Same thing happened with Punk.
  15. Someone has to be going on the 60 day DL. There is no way Gennet gets called up and Gindl makes less than no sense to get called. I'll say Bianchi gets the 60 day and Halton gets called up...to sit on the bench.
  16. A pitching machine hopefully. It would probably give us less homeruns and walk a couple less batters than Axford.
  17. I'd give some credence to the stretching theory if stretching could have prevented Gamel from tearing ligaments after running into a wall, Ramirez from twice sliding awkwardly into second base, Weeks getting hit by a pitch, or Segura getting taken out on a double play. Maybe Braun could stretch more. He seems to have random muscle strains pop up, but stretching wouldn't have prevented anything for almost every major injury the Brewers have had the last few years.
  18. This commercial. http://youtu.be/xDkV_2ausVY
  19. Oh ya, and after wasting that hour filling out all your employment and education information only to get to the end and then upload a resume. Just read the freaking resume!
  20. When I apply for a job I shouldn't have to waste an hour creating an account for your company.
  21. I've made my feelings about Axford quite clear in the past and he's toast now. Take him out of the 9th inning and then trade him at the deadline or non-tender him after the season if there are no takers. Ron just needs to go with matchups at the end of the game. Enough of this needing a "proven" closer crap. Just use whoever can get outs.
  22. Do the Brewers even own the lots? I seem to remember in previous threads complaining about the price of parking it was found that they don't.
  23. Seems like kind of an overpay but Andrus won't be 25 till August. He still has time to develop some more power. If he does, when you factor in the size of the Rangers payroll and inflation by the end of the contract it is probably about right. Also, Elvis can opt out after 4 years. If he's healthy he probably does.
  24. No, we got a 3 or 4, or possibly even a 5. As for Boras, I agree with however said Gomez signed because of Ellsbury. This past offseason he had quite a few high profile free agents and all of them being out there at the same time drove down the price and made his job harder.
  25. I can add this to my list of reasons why I never want to go to opening day.
