  1. Burnes is costing us nearly every time out. He needs to go to AAA and start in order to have innings to adjust. He has a bright future. Remember that until recently, Roy Halladay had a record for highest ERA in a season. He was sent to A ball and came back dominant
  2. To me, it's all about Gio right now. When he returns to the rotation, Houser moves to a solid 6th to 8th inning role. It stabilizes the entire pen. Woodruff Davies Chacin Gonzalez Anderson, Miller, or Smyly Albers Houser Claudio Jeffress Hader etc etc
  3. Yes, Stearns obsessive compulsive disorder with regards to Depth, has hurt the organization this year. The stupid bullpen shuttle(Barnes Williams Wilson Petricka etc.) Is a good example. That same strategy worked very, very well for them last year. Peavey, I think its obvious some folks would rather we use Claudio, Hader, and Jeffress in games that we're trailing by 2+ runs, thus making them unavailable in some games where we could REALLY use them. Seriously, the same bullpen train worked really well last year. Unfortunately when Knebel went down, we also lost our 6-7 inning guy (Hader) and we haven't sufficiently replaced him. Albers, Williams, and many others have struggled at times getting us to the 8th inning, and it doesn't help that when Hader allows a hit, it's likely to be a homer
  4. It's weird seeing the pitchers with the green screen advertisement behind them. Tanaka looks like he's been superimposed on the screen like a weather man
  5. Braun is valuable. His production isn't over a 1/2 season. It's over far fewer games. Given than Gamel has been productive, it means we've been doing well in LF.
  6. He could be a huge part of our pen in the 2nd half.
  7. Rock is fine. He's personable and a homer. He has some good insight, but gets overlooked for not knowing modern stats. BA is among the top play-by-play broadcasters in the game. Plesac was a true joy. He's so fun and entertaining...sounds like he bleeds blue and gold. On the radio side, when Ueck isn't doing a game, I feel like the other two sound EXACTLY the same. I generally can't tell the difference.
  8. Walters with nice outing. Anyone remember why he missed 2 years?
  9. I’ll wait until they reach A+ before I get too excited. Too many draft picks I liked didn’t make it past A ball Doug you've been here as long as I have. The whole board was giddy about Lou Palmisano. Yep, Captain Lou, Angel Salome, Kade Johnson. I even liked following Fry before he was traded. I fell for some C/OF named Belcher, Bill Scott, Drew Anderson, Grant Richardson, Tony Festa, Ryan Poe, Jose Mieses, Mike Jones, JM Gold, Ben Hendrickson, Paul Stewart, etc. I enjoy following the kids now, but I'm much more cautious. I can't go declaring this a special draft like brew crew 92...we won't know for 4-6 years. oops, forgot future hall of fame Christian Guerrero
  10. All I know is that I will be Smylying if he can return to his good numbers. Maybe he could rebound and take Anderson's spot. Anderson just allowed another HR, his 10th in only 58 IPs and the 9th time in 11 starts that he has been taken deep. After allowing 30 dingers last year, Anderson could easily be replaced. you make it sound like Anderson had a bad 2018 and it having a bad 2019. simply not true. He's allowed homers, but luckily not much else
  11. In terms of top prospect, is there any question that it's Turang? Ray's a top 5-10 kind of guy. Is Brown a top-10 guy? He's performed, but I've never seen anything to scream "top prospect." It's too bad Ray has been hurt. This would have been the year for him to be dealt at the deadline.
  12. Do we know this is the case here? To me, no foul play implies no signs of outside influence. It also wouldn't be suicide, or that would have been reported. It could be a fluke heart condition, aneurism, sleep apnea, food poisoning, or other undetected issue. It could also be drug-related. Regardless, it's a terrible tragedy.
  13. I've probably ranted about this before, but I get annoyed with all the cyclists that blatantly run stop signs and disregard the rules of the road. Also, I recently I saw this and it raised a question. a pack of about 10 cyclists approach a 4-way stop sign. the first one or two slightly beat me to it (I'm on the right in my car). The back of the pack hadn't finished approaching the sign yet. As the first two bikes proceeded through, I lifted my foot off the pedal to proceed, only to have the remaining 8 bicycles continue through the stop sign as well, one or two giving me a dirty look. I've also seen this with motorcycles. Is there any rule that allows a pack to all proceed as one vehicle?
  14. I’ll wait until they reach A+ before I get too excited. Too many draft picks I liked didn’t make it past A ball
  15. The newspaper that provided several online Mudcat features last season seems to have dried up in that regard in 2019. Too bad... I’m not saying he’s a star or anything, but it’s fun to see the Brewers letting him dabble with hitting. Some teams wanted to draft him as an OF. I’ve found no quotes on his official role or any plans
  16. no articles about Andrews closing games, striking out the world, and playing CF???? kind of surprising.
  17. Can you name a guy in this situation who's come back, pitched and not had a TJ surgery in the very near future? Didn’t knebel get about 4 years out of his PRP?
  18. Vegas has always been a decent baseball town. Let’s face it, the Raiders won’t draw locals. They’ll draw road fans for every game. What’s great wi5 the Knights is that it’s generally local crowds.
  19. I really like where we stand so far. Gamel is similar to Santana in stats like WAR, he has an option, and Zavolas has looked good
  20. so many of Woodruff's innings have been low-stress, that I don't think it's an issue.
  21. just remember that we're mere years away from wiping out some some seafood favorites. Farmed fish--done ethically--is the best solution to allow the oceans to have a chance to repopulate themselves
  22. 3 more hits for the pitcher moonlighting as a CF!
  23. I definitely consume more shrimp than in 1980....since I wasn’t born yet
  24. We can always play Braun or Grandal at 1st occasionally. Hopefully Aguilar gets it going.
  25. How long was the Nelson rehab?? I do not recall the number of days it was for Nelson, but pitchers only get a 30 day rehab assignment (in order to prevent teams from stashing otherwise healthy players in the minors all season).. Pitchers recovering from TJ May get a 60 day rehab. One would think Nelson’s surgery would qualify him.
