  1. These are really what external hard drives are made for You could also transfer from itunes to Google Play if you wanted. I’m pretty sure Apple’s Music app covers this.
  2. I occasionally checked his Twitter feed when Brewerfan linked to it. But Instagram? Sorry, I’m not a teenage girl seeking a false sense of self-esteem
  3. I think you are both full of it! lol Every team has good fans, and bad fans... No matter where you go, you see more people on their phones than are watching the game... Watched a Indians Yankees game in Cleveland in somewhere around 2008 in July and you would have swore it was game 7 of the World Series the way the fans behaved. Granted the Yankees were a rival of the Indians at that time but none the less I was impressed. I think you mean 1998
  4. They could draft Al Leiter's son, and give their whole bonus pool $ to sign him. doesn't work that way. If they failed to sign picks in the top 10 rounds, that money both disappears from our bonus pool and limits the amount we can go over the pool without penalty
  5. my only beef is the 3 catchers. It’s a small beef as you can never have enough and I would be surprised if all 3 stay there. Really excited about the pitching we are adding and the possibility of getting through the system quickly. remember when we had two studs? Kade Johnson and Jason Belcher? Jonathon Lucroy and Angel Salome? we've had poor success with catchers, so I'd guess we need 10-20 catchers drafted to create 1 big leaguer. Besides Lucroy, we hit on Eric Fryer, but that's it. I guess Tim Dillard in a weird sense
  6. If he were coming out of college, he might not be in AA yet. Takes a while for many HS kids to develop. Is he a better prospect than Ray?
  7. I doubt it. The bonus pool stuff is majorly overblown. This draft isn’t likely to have anyone exciting that will drop to the 60s to go overslot on. I just don’t see that. They went with their top guy in my opinion. This kid isn’t that much of a reach and unlikely to save much in bonus pool money. pretty sure that's incorrect. The draft pool is important for many reasons: -gives budget that a team can spend on top 10 round picks. -determines the % overage that a team can spend on players....not a fixed amount, but a %. So the Dbacks can go FAR over their pool allotment, but the Brewers can go slightly above it The Brewers should get Small for a decent amount under slot. The benefit is that instead of taking 4th year seniors deserving of 10-20th round picks frequently in rounds 3-10, we can take some players that ACTUALLY deserve to get picked there.
  8. Remember, the smaller bonus pool also affects how much %-wise we can go over our pool. This pick is interesting. I'd send him to our facility in Arizona to work with trainers like Lawrie has been to make sure his big frame is utilizing all muscles well. Small's strikeout rate is insane for a big conference pitcher.
  9. I'm especially glad to see him breaking in against a AAA team
  10. You get 3 option years and they usually start after your 3rd year in the organization. Occasionally some players will get a 4th option year. Anytime a player is optioned to the minors they use one of their 3 options. Keep in mind once a player is optioned during a year they can bounce back and forth without using an additional options. Hiura should have 2 options left, the same as Shaw, as he was on a rehab assignment and wasn't optioned. It’s irrelevant as to what year in the system you start using options. It’s all related to years on the 40-man roster. You use no option years while a young player. Once added to the 40-man roster—whether in year 1 or 6–that’s when you start using option years. It’s why Devin Williams can return to starting—if he gets added to the 40-man in the off-season, we’ll control him for 3 more years in the minors.
  11. I feel like the Brewers felt as though Hiura had things to work on however the Shaw injury necessitated bringing him up to the majors before they felt he was fully ready to be handed the reins. He did very well offensively but he also showed things to work on especially with throwing accuracy and poor foot work. Hopefully the Brewers clearly communicated when he was promoted that this was an opportunity to experience the big leagues and use it as a learning experience for when he returns to the minors.
  12. Not sure why Anderson doesn't get the love he's due. He's never posted an ERA north of 4.39 and has a 3.86 career ERA and has been a 3.68 ERA in MKE. There's zero reason to remove him from this years rotation. 3 are locked in. I also would pitch Gio every start he's healthy for. Chacin, Nelson are totally up in the air. There are two reasons I'd consider Anderson to the pen: -his velocity goes up in relief -he's struggled with pitch efficiency.
  13. Hopefully better than the last time they did this. Depends on potential impact, but I’d like 2 hitters here, maybe one HS and 1 college. A corner OF or 1b/3b with strong hit tools.
  14. https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/mlb/diamondbacks/2019/06/02/arizona-diamondbacks-2019-draft-d-backs-hope-capitalize-picks/1317230001/ It’s kind of shocking that a move like this is considered outside the box. Good read
  15. Just looked at his numbers and he’d be a great candidate to acquire. He’s young, always been very young for his levels, has a track-record of producing, and left-handed. What’s fair value?
  16. I can see Jimmy getting a start next weekend, with Chacin and Anderson pitching to see who comes out when Geo is back
  17. When I worked in baseball, Ben’s Zobrist was one of the best guys I met. Not that it matters in this case, but I wish him the best
  18. They don’t need them. Oakley makes terrific golf prizm, baseball infield prizm, and outfield prizm lenses. I wear the golf ones on cloudy days
  19. He’s been outstanding in the minors his entire career. Saying he’s figuring it out this year is an insult to his body of work
  20. What a brutal mistake by Hiura. Should’ve gotten out of the inning with zero runs and 20 fewer pitches. He didn’t square himself up at all on that throw.
  21. There’s something hilarious about a team from Illinois seeking to avoid economic activity for tax purposes, Besides that, I don’t want to bid for Kimbrel, but I’d offer him $10 million for this year and $18 for next year to see it is agreeable.
  22. If only it were that simple. Hopefully Wilkerson is on the upswing in terms of talent growth but he hasn't shown anything in the majors to suggest he'd be more effective than Peralta. He could be the AAAA player he's shown himself to be so far. Wilkerson has performed fine in MLB in limited opportunities. He just needs opportunities.
  23. He's probably a better long man for the pen than Peralta, given that he has multiple pitches. Still, great position to be in depth wise, even with Chacin floundering.
