  1. I'm thinking we might be waiting a little bit for input from the new hitting coach. If he sees something he thinks he can fix, we keep him, otherwise we probably let him go. Why hire a hitting coach and then not listen to him right off the bat.
  2. http://milwaukee.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2018/10/10/chase-andersons-fatal-flaw/ I saw this article and thought it made a lot of sense. I'm sure someone smarter than myself can figure out some players that might fit this criteria for next year, whether "initial outgetter" or RP. If we have enough bats that can play multiple positions, you could even carry an extra pitcher. I really like what they have done with moving Shaw to 1st base and Arcia to SS as defensive moves at the end of the game.
  3. "Bad ball" -2018 Pulitzer Prize in Baseball Journalism I'm telling you guys, we NEED a "Like", "thumbs up" emoji, or hell even a heart for comments like this that come up everyday. That tweet was horrid.
  4. I'm hoping the Brewers overtake the Cubs and Chicago and St. Louis in the WC game.....and that game goes 30 innings with a soul crushing loss for either team really...I'm not too picky.
  5. I agree. I think with Nelson coming back (hopefully good Nelson), 2019 is a good year to expect a solid playoff showing. Hader, Peralta, Burns are another year older. The only huge downside is that Braun may not contribute much. Schoop should be much better next year as well.
  6. Nice to see Grisham on a little hot streak. Hopefully he can keep it going.
  7. I guess I'd be ok with this as a depth move if we give up a Rule V type that we would lose anyway. Otherwise, I think DS can do a little better.
  8. Guerra has a much better ERA, therefore he is better. 'nuff said
  9. I would do that trade and even throw in a sweetner on the 40 man or about to be on the 40 man. Perrin?
  10. Santana and Broxton are on the 40 man as well. I'd much rather trade one of them and a 20 ish range prospect on the 40 man. I just don't think we need to trade anyone in the top 10 unless its for controllable talent. I understand that Santana and Broxton don't move the needle much, but I've seen people dropping Ortiz and Lutz's name for players who would not be clear upgrades. I think we could do better with the talent we are suggesting moving.
  11. Don't forget we have a lot of "depth pieces" in the minors. I'm not saying they will get us one of the Mets SP, but we might be able to get Hamels or JA Happ for 3 or 4 depth pieces. We are probably going to lose some to the Rule 5 draft next year anyway. Might as well get something for them. Something like Phillips, Supak, Derby, etc.
  12. Heyman with a couple trade ideas for the Brewers. I would do the Realmuto one now.
  13. Did Stearns take the day off?
  14. Swihart for Broxton?
  15. http://milwaukee.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2018/04/19/everybody-loves-the-drake/ Did anyone see this? I know Drake catches a lot of flack here, but here is a positive spin. On the negative side, it sounds like he will be here forever....
  16. Are they maybe trying to keep his innings down so he can pitch in Game 7 of the WS?
  17. Does this mean we get to keep Jesus longer?
  18. Herrera had a nice line for his first game of the year in Wisconsin. Lutz, not so much.
  19. What mental issues? Is there a story here I missed? Too tired to link up some stories but he’s talked about being mentally drained during the season a year ago and how he needs to learn how not to freak out and such. There’s probably a really good connection to his slumping mid year. He’s also talked about turning to English literature to try to help him relax his mind. English Lit always stressed me out more. I could barely even read Shakespeare and don't get me started on Chaucer. Could he be speaking of English poetry possibly? I'm much more of a Sophocles and Dostoyevsky fan, although they are not very relaxing in their own right I suppose. In order to stay on topic, I will say that no one is going to give us what we want for Thames and teams will just wait for us to drop Choi or Aguilar or both if they have interest.
  20. I think the folks that are angry the Brewers didn't commit $60 million over 4 years to Alex "the Messiah" Cobb should be much, much angrier that the Brewers didn't sign Lance Lynn for 1 year at his $12 million price tag, even if they would have had to pay him up to $15 million to pry him from the Twins. I very much agree with this statement. Lynn would have been on a one year deal and would have helped absorb the loss of Nelson and would have been nice insurance if Guerra, Suter, Woodruff all have a down year. He wouldn't have been a difference maker, but he would have allowed everyone to breathe a little easier and if he was Suppan/Garza 2.0, it was one year and not the end of the world.
  21. Can we put a tombstone next to the Cobb thread instead of lock?
  22. I still think Woodruff will start in AAA to give him a little more service time. Just guessing, but I'm thinking Suter and Guerra would get called on first when we need that 5th starter on April 6th.
  23. Probably a Russian "bot" account anyway.
