  1. I wouldn't go quite as far as you did but I think Stearns/Arnold knew these rules were likely coming and prepared for the day they would.
  2. It's one thing to disagree with a lineup, but to say Counsell is a "trash manager" because of it just seems hyperbolic. I'd venture to guess that it has more to do with Miller, Voit, & Brosseau then with Turang & Mitchell. We know Counsell likes to have all 13 position players get starts and get somewhat consistent at bats and this is probably his way of doing that. I remember you also stating he would platoon Wiemer which hasn't happened yet
  3. Ah yes cause we still use Fielding % as the defining stat for defense lol. But anyways I wasn't saying he's a bad 3b, just that in his career he's graded out better in RF than at 3b
  4. Absolutely, I don't mind people being critical or having substantive debates but at this point nothing new is being added and it's actively bringing the quality of the board down imo. When it's the same person doing this it should be an easy fix Edit: the poster above me suggesting an ignore feature would also suffice
  5. Wiemer made his 1st start in CF which was against a lefty. In that game Anderson was in RF, Brosseau at 3b, and Voit at DH. Rowdy played 1st still
  6. Against the lefty today I'm expecting Brosseau, Miller, & Voit all get a start. Would be really nice to sweep a good team and head into the St. Louis series with the momentum to their backs
  7. Makes sense to start Caritini today so Bill can start vs the lefty tomorrow..
  8. The bullpen is well rested going into this one and they have a day off Thursday. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Miley have a pretty short leash tonight
  9. It's very likely one of the Outfield prospects "busts" just from a pure numbers standpoint. If all 4 "hit" that is a great problem to have for next year and as stated if you factor in the DH you'll have 5 guys for 4 spots which really isn't a problem at all. And if they happened to find a deal they like where they can flip 1 for something else then that works too
  10. As someone who is going, the day game is nice, allows me to get home at a decent time(I live in Green Bay). Makes attending the game alot easier
  11. Fun lineup today with all 3 rookies in it, hopefully this is the lineup we see most days, with Contreras in for Caritini
  12. This past I don't get, Anderson grades better in RF than at 3b so I'm not sure why people say "he belongs" at 3b, I've seen that narrative alot
  13. Yea I'd guess Contreras just gets the day off entirely. Hoping all 3 rookies get into the lineup today
  14. Loving the updates! Any idea why Singleton isn't playing?
  15. Agreed, in depth and hits all the key areas One note though, Cousins isn't in the MLB Bullpen, that said I love the bullpen usage chart
  16. Bullpen 6 scoreless so far this season. Glad to get the W but I am looking forward to playing games not in 40 degree weather
  17. Was hoping to see Wiemer, Mitchell, and Turang all in there, oh well maybe tomorrow. Interesting they are giving a start to Rowdy vs a lefty, something they rarely did last season. Expected to be very cold today so guessing runs will be at a premium again, hopefully Woodruff handles it ok considering his medicals
  18. To clarify Wiemer was never eligible for the draft pick reward so the opening day stuff doesn't matter. You have to be on 2 of the 3 top 100 lists(fangraphs, BA, ESPN) and Wiemer was only on one of the 3
  19. Right, this is the opposite of service time manipulation, I'm hoping they find time to send him back down at some point for another 12 days to gain that extra year of control.
  20. I agree that service time manipulation sucks, but it's the system we have and I'd rather the Brewers take advantage of the rules in place rather ignore them. Hopefully in the next CBA the MLBPA fights harder to get rid of Service time stuff but until they do the Brewers willingly giving up a full year of control on good players is dumb
  21. I'm assuming they aren't calling him up not to play him
  22. Service time stuff aside, I'm very excited to see Wiemer in the bigs. His ceiling is massive, a potential 30/30 guy with elite defense in RF. I do think he'll need a bit of an adjustment period but hopefully by the end of the year is what we hope.
  23. Or they keep that extra year of control, then extend him and buy out 2 years of FA
