  1. I've never understood why people get so annoyed by lineup construction. I understand Frelick isn't a "traditional #4 hitter", but having Yelich and Contreras 1 & 2 in the lineup at least gets your best two hitters maximum potential AB's. Also, the top 4 in tonight's lineup appear to be currently the best four bats in the lineup so I don't get the angst...
  2. I would think Megill would go before Mejia
  3. The Brewers are still solid favorites to win the NLC in the major projection systems, despite their offensive struggles...
  4. Miller is a well below average at 1st base defensively. 150 innings isn't a large enough sample size to say he is "among the best fielding first basemen in baseball". In fact, the eye test tells you he is much closer to the opposite IMO
  5. Don't agree with that assessment at all... I agree that Brice Turang can't hit a lick at this point, but he's an excellent defender...certainly not below average and Dubon is nothing but a below average journeyman IMO
  6. Agree with endaround completely, this team (as flawed as it is) is a solid favorite to win the division in every projection system I've seen as of today. I don't see anyway the team is dismantled at the trade deadline
  7. I really don't want anything to do with Doc Rivers as the next coach. He has a long history of playoff failure and underachievement.
  8. Solid month upcoming....15-12
  9. This thread is extremely predictable...as soon as Yelich goes into a slump the majority of the board wants to bench him. He is going to be the starting LF and bat lead off for the foreseeable future. His defense has been fine this year, despite his noodle arm. I expect he'll end up with a BA in the 250-270 range an an OBP of 350+. I'm sure I'll get ripped by the CY haters on this board, but he is by far the best option on the roster to play everyday right now.
  10. Draft day prediction for me JSN @ #13 Trade one of the #2's plus a 6th to get back into the end of R1 and take Branch Use the other R2 pick on the best TE available
  11. MVP: Yelich CY Young: Burnes Rookie of the Year: Turang BA Leader: Yelich .305 HR Leader: Tellez ERA Leader: Burnes 2.45 SO Leader: Burnes WAR Leader: Burnes Breakout(s): Turang Disappointment(s): Mitchell, and Adames Bold Prediction (s): Yelich finishes in top 10 for NL MVP, Burnes wins 2nd Cy Young Record: 92-70 (1st in NLC by 4G over STL) Playoffs? Yes. - Lose in NLCS to SD
  12. The Maryland collapse against PSU hurts the Badgers IMO. Now, they need to beat Minn tonight, followed by either Minn again/or OSU on Wednesday, and likely win their game on Thursday as well. The best they can do now for the B10 tourney is the 11 seed and they will be playing on Day 1. This team has not shown the ability to string wins together since Nov/Dec so that could be a tall order...
  13. I strongly disagree that they need to get to B10 final to make the tourney...Beat Minn Sun and win one game in the BTT (two games if they have to play on Thursday) and they should be in. The bubble is incredibly soft and most of the projections still have them in today after the loss to Purdue last night. The only major guy who has them out right now is Jerry Palm and they are literally his 1st team out right now. UW has a really weird resume with a lot of Quad 1 & 2 wins and no really bad losses. There worst loss is probably Wake Forest which I think is a high Quad 3 loss
  14. I just don't see it with TT as an everyday player. The guys a solid 4th OFer but not an above average player IMO I know some of the defensive metrics like his defense, but to me is average, at best
  15. The Yelich deal says hello...On paper this is a great deal but I would not downgrade what Stearns did in his tenure as GM
  16. The amount of grief Yelich takes on this board continues to amaze me. Obviously he isn't MVP Yelich, but is still an above average MLB starter. Everyone understands he has a significant contract, but he is far from the biggest problem on this team
  17. Defensive would be anyone that isn't overly negative about the team has "Brewer goggles" on. You think your viewpoint is realistic, versus overly negative. I guess the next six weeks will provide that answer...

  19. Your defensive response speaks volumes about your "fandom". Good luck at the sportsbook

  21. Completely agree w/Brock, the game threads this year are twitteresque as they tend to be dominated by a few overly negative posters and they become very difficult to navigate. I get that there are many different ways to be a fan, but when it's 1-0 in the top of the first and you see a number of posters saying "game over" it's difficult for myself or many others to engage with that...
  22. Sixto, I know you are one of the more negative posters on this board, but to expect them to be under .500 ROS with 29 of their remaining 39 against non-playoff teams seems to be really over the top...

  24. I've seen multiple posters suggesting to DFA Tyrone Taylor. That would really surprise me. I am far from his biggest fan, but he is an above average 4/5 OF and certainly not a DFA candidate IMO..
  25. I'm a little surprised the projection systems like SD as much as they do. They still have 9 games left with the Dodgers who have basically owned them for the last couple of years. The Crew just completed a difficult 15 game stretch (TB/STL/LAD/CHC/LAD) at 7-8. I was hoping for 9-6 or 8-7, but while they lost ground to the Cardinals, the WC is still there for the taking. Nevertheless, the Brewers need to play better as their next 18 games are against non-playoff contenders (CHC/PIT/ARZ/COL/SF/CIN). Hopefully at least 12-6 over this stretch would put them ahead of SD before the eight game stretch versus STL/NYY/NYM.
