  1. How? Looks like he ran, jumped, and caught it. How? Well he jogged the last 25 feet, did a stutter step, then did a couple of quicker strides and jumped. Go back and watch it in real-time again, it’s fairly obvious it was never in doubt.
  2. Coming into tonight’s game here is the wRC+ for each Brewers hitter with 30+ plate appearances (100 is league average): Omar Narvaez 158 wRC+ Christian Yelich 139 wRC+ Billy McKinney 120 wRC+ Avisail Garcia 110 wRC+ Luis Urias 108 wRC+ Travis Shaw 100 wRC+ Jackie Bradley Jr. 71 wRC+ Keston Hiura 51 wRC+ Daniel Robertson -27 wRC+
  3. Last night wasn’t great, but it was actually one of Cory Blaser’s better performances of the season (but still below average across all umpires in both accuracy and consistency).
  4. Baseball Reference tracks player nicknames, but doesn’t have one listed for Woodruff... Baseball Player Nicknames Looking through the list I’m a little skeptical about some of the nicknames. Some current and former Brewers I saw on the list include: Uncle Phil (Prince Fielder), Bat Boy (Zach Davies), Ocho & Hebrew Hammer (Ryan Braun), CrunchWrap & LoCain (Lorenzo Cain), Narvy (Omar Narvaez), Big Sweat (Jimmy Nelson), Petey (Jace Peterson), D-Rob (Daniel Robertson), Vogey (Daniel Vogelbach), Wonger (Kolten Wong), Yeli (Christian Yelich)

  6. Anyone else think that Cronenworth ball was hit much better than where it ended up? Also, really weird camera work from the production crew.
  7. Not a great start for Suter. As much as I appreciate him, I am worried about Suter versus the top half of this lineup. EDIT: Well I guess we won’t need to find out (for tonight at least).
  8. Now that he just batted I think you have to consider leaving Taylor in the game bringing the pitcher into Garcia’s spot, right?
  9. That was a good throw (albeit off the mark) and great tag, wow. EDIT: Throw looked much worse in slow motion, not a good throw but I’ll take the result.
  10. From Mike Vassallo... That is pretty incredible considering this is just the 16th game of the year.
  11. With Hosmer starting the 7th I'd guess they'll turn to Suter right away. I like the idea of Suter starting a clean inning much better than bringing him into the middle of an inning with runners on (as we’ve seen recently).
  12. The start wasn’t pretty, but not much you can complain about with the effort from Woodruff tonight. For the most part he shutdown one of the best teams in the baseball.
  13. As frustrating as so many of his at bats were last year, he’s really looked great offensively through the first few weeks this year.
  14. That would be such an incredible experiment that I’m not even sure I’d be upset if it went wrong.
  15. Good question. Hope that those heavy hitters frustratingly flail away at Suter's junk for a couple innings I guess? Just piggyback Woodruff and Burnes in a series opener against a team like this so you can win at least one game (yes, I’m joking).
  16. Luis Urias now has his wRC+ up to 107 this season (7% above league average). That’s with a BABIP that’s currently just .200, which is likely to improve quite a bit moving forward.
