  1. Aaron Brooks who pitched for the Brewers in Colorado Springs last year (99.1 IP with a 3.35 ERA) has shut down the Red Sox so far through 5 innings for the A’s (5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 Runs, 1 BB, 5 Ks).
  2. Just five games into the season and the Brewers are already out to a 2.0+ game lead on the entire division!
  3. 1st inning included four hits, one walk, and four earned runs against the recently extended Kyle Hendricks. Two errors in the inning. Looks like all of the runs were unearned according to the box score. Baez with one error. I have him in our Mendoza league at work. Yeah, my fault... misread the box score.
  4. Arcia has some of the worst at bats I’ve ever seen from someone paid to play baseball.
  5. 1st inning included four hits, one walk, and four earned runs against the recently extended Kyle Hendricks.
  6. Shaw going opposite field to beat the shift is a thing of beauty.
  7. This would be a great time for the Brewers to turn their first double play of the season.
  8. Braun seems to be having trouble picking up Roark’s slider. Really chased the first one hard. Edit: The four seam fastball not so much. That might be the last fastball he sees from Roark.
  9. Would never bet on a player hitting a home run in a given game, but you have to like his chances to have a shot at it. Saw this on Twitter so maybe someone can fact check it, but I believe Yelich’s line against the Reds last season was .482/.532/1.018 with 7 HR, 2 cycles, and 17 RBI in 14 games.

  11. Another Statcast era record...
  12. A sentence from the article: The Mets and Brewers are among the other clubs that have checked in on Keuchel, though the Brewers remain more interested in the other top remaining free agent, reliever Craig Kimbrel, sources say. It does go on to say that Brewers club officials seem pessimistic about getting a deal done with Kimbrel.
  13. The Cubs lost to the Rangers on a walk-off wild pitch, 11-10. The Cubs scored 28 runs in 3 games in Texas and lost two of them.
  14. With that finish this was one of those moments that will be a strong candidate to be among the most memorable of the year when we recap the 2019 season.
