2024 Magic Number Thread

Tom Gorzellany was a Brewer? Haven't heard that name in forever. I remember him with the Pirates maybe? -
i'm actually surprised by that; feels like Chourio has had his fair share of blunders defensively this season.
-
But what did Jesus make though?
-
Bryan Hudson placed on 15 day IL. Tyler Jay recalled.

I believe it was you that was pounding the drum for this move for a while too right? because of a velocity drop-off. Good call. -
what would that look like in terms of our prospects?

Is there a way to watch the full game replay for free? (I don't have a mlb tv account) -
where did you find out Turang changed his diet from milk to oat milk? As a fellow vegan, I approve that change.
-
Weird that Kopech's numbers are so lousy this season, I remember when we were playing the white sox earlier this season, Kopech had a filthy fastball/breaking ball combo going.
-
Mason Miller was looking pretty filthy in the all-star game, how can we get him?
-
which player is this?
-
I thought I seen Arraez won't be participating, so I expected/hoped to see Turang be his replacement, but I haven't heard anything about any replacement for Arraez?
-
All this Keston Hiura talk got me thinking of right after he was drafted, and he was in the booth with BA and Rock, and he was in the middle of saying something and just casually said "hitting is the easy part" Man if only.
-
from what i heard, his velocity was down a couple MPH yesterday too
-
So with us clearly needing more starting pitching, one name I'm wondering about is Christian Scott. He was pitching pretty well with the Mets in his handful of starts this season, is a talented young starter, but recently got demoted to AAA, only because they already have a full starting rotation as it is. Is there a match to be made here? Do they have a need for any of our surplus of young OFs?

Reds (Abbott) vs Brewers (Wilson): 6/15/24, 3:10pm

I'm surprised everyone was so smitten with snoop dogg, it felt so awkward and forced with him in the booth the whole time. Every time a half-inning would end, I would hope he would leave and end the cringiness but they kept bringing him back for a couple innings or so. -
Anyone else concerned about the usage of William Contreras this season? It's pretty unprecedented in this sort of load management era that we're in, in sports these days, for a catcher to play literally EVERY game. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when him and Adames were originally supposed to have the day off, just to find out they were yet again, going to get another start. Not many players these days start every day, ESPECIALLY not catchers. Even him playing DH the games he doesn't catch, shouldn't be an every-time thing either. I"m really concerned he's going to break down at some point, and honestly he already has to some extent. I am too lazy to look up recent stats/game logs, but he's definitely been slipping at least a little bit offensively lately. Just wanted to hear others' thoughts on this also.
-
they made it that far in spite of Roenicke. Roenicke was an awful manager.
-
Brice Turang isn't a finalist? He was freakin' elite at 2B.
-
Counsell isn't a 'proven leader of postseason choke jobs'. Each season is it's own entity and Counsell has had little to nothing to do with the postseason defeats. MLB playoffs is random. It's hard to win championships, in any sport!
-
Am I missing something with this Salvatore thing? I thought it was just RobertCrawley always oddly referring to him as that, but now I've seen multiple posters referencing him to that name.
-
Neither of them are overrated lol. Counsell is one of the best managers in the game.
-
hope you're not a betting man.
-
Defense and base-running matter.
-
thanasis is much much lower than a winker.
-
why shouldn't he be on a playoff roster?? he's an elite baserunner and defender. Theres more to the game than hitting!
