  1. Why is everyone so high on Arnett? I dont know much about him so any opinions would be much appreciated.
  2. X, why shouldnt we hope Scheppers falls to us?
  3. If the Brewers are willing to go over slot they may very well have a shot at a top ten talent.
  4. Its nice not to be a Pirates fan.
  5. If the Brewers can somehow get a top ten talent at 26 they need to take the chance. Crow or Scheppers would both be excellent choices. Scheppers had shoulder issues last year but I read that he was throwing in the high nineties a few days ago. Sounds like a great possible pick to me.
  6. Keith Law says the Brewers made an overture to pay above slot to a high school player who is likely to drop due to signability but were turned down. Law didnt say who the player was.
  7. Keith Law has AJ Pollock. All I have to say about that is yuk. He also doesnt have Crow or Scheppers in the first round. If Crow or Scheppers are available the Brewers would be wise to pick one of them.
  8. All I ask is that we dont pick a bunch of low ceiling Kyle Peterson types. I would also like to avoid a guy like Paxton who cant even get it done at a high level in college. I would love to take a shot at Scheppers if he is available. I prefer the high risk picks. Hopefully we will pick a bunch of guys with high upsides and a few will pan out. Without Jack Z running the draft I am definitely a bit nervous.
  9. I realize the condescending comments from rluzinski were probably directed at me. I never said "I hate Bill Hall". All I said is that Hall has stopped trying to go the other way like he did when he was successful. Watching as many Brewers games as I do it is very easy to see that Hall is trying to pull everything and I clearly remember Hall going the other way when he was successful. I dont think I was off base with my comments at all and I completely stand by them. Bill Hall will not be successful again unless he stops being stubborn and listens to those like Dale Sveum who are trying to help him. If he insists on trying to hit HRs with every swing he will be relegated to late defensive replacement and pinch hitting at bats vs lefties.
  10. Hall has caused his own problems with his stubbornness. When Hall was at his best he would go to the opposite field and do it with tremendous power. Now he insists on trying to pull everything and all he does is flail away with every swing. I am at the point where I just dont think Hall cares about his performance.
  11. I think Votto is an incredible young hitter. I think he is better than Fielder already.
  12. I would be shocked if Manny doesnt get sent down after this game. He really could use a few weeks in Nashville to get himself straightened out.
  13. Looks like another one of those games where we squander a chance to score early and shut it down for the rest of the night.
  14. So Parra comes out looking awesome and strikes out the side. Of course he has to fall apart soon afterwards. Maybe I was wrong about not wanting to trade for Peavy.
  15. Luckily we have the most awesome defensive catcher in baseball to get the most out of the pitching staff. I cant imagine how Parra would pitch if he didnt have Kendall behind the plate.
  16. Kendall will be back unless he bats below .200 and even then I would expect him back. I dont think people realize how much Melvin loves the guy. I personally think he might be the weakest everyday offensive player in baseball today and a complete albatross in our lineup but I think he will be back. I dont think we can really afford to keep him but I think it will happen.
  17. The Brewers cant continue to ignore that Kendall may very well be the worst starting offensively player in baseball and Rivera at least has a chance with a bat in his hand.
  18. Can we really afford to trade Corey right now for a starting pitcher? If he is traded we are forced to play Gerut or Catallanato in his place. I dont think we can afford that drop in production. As for obtaining a starter pitcher who would they replace in our rotation right now? Whether we like it or not Suppan will be in the rotation all season and next so I just dont see where a new starter would slot in right now. Trading Hart made sense last offseason when we could have replaced his production with a guy like Adam Dunn but now we would be unable to adequately replace what Corey could potentially give us.
  19. I want this Hardy trade talk to end. I dont understand why we dont resign him. He loves being a Brewer and is a great player as well. Hardy and Braun should be the faces of the team for years to come. This franchise has come a long way in a few short years. The team can afford some payroll with the great attendance and a fantastic owner and Hardy should be signed long term. We should be talking about trading Escobar who may not ever be a good offensive player vs trading Hardy who is fan favorite and great player. I understand that we need to have some young controllable players on our roster but our payroll supports keeping a few of our established stars.
  20. The guy is an automatic out. There is nothing he does defensively to offset that fact.
  21. 804 Sox, the Brewers are trying to contend for a playoff spot. They cant possibly trade Hardy and accomplish that. As far as Penny for an Odorizzi or Peralta thats not a trade that interests me at all. Penny is just not that good. Why would the Brewers give up a potential high impact guy for an average at best starter who we would control for just the rest of the season.
  22. 804 Sox, no disrespect intended by why would we trade one of the best shortstops in baseball for an average at best starter and a reliever? I definitely agree that Delcarmen is good and have advocated trying to acquire him in the past but you dont trade a guy like Hardy for any reliever. On a side note I can definitely see Hardy in Boston if we dont resign him before he reaches free agency. Since the Sox need a shortstop so badly how about a deal involving Escobar and Clay Buchholtz. That sounds like a win/win trade for both teams.
  23. I definitely think there is bad blood between Sheets and the Brewers and for good reason in my opinion. I dont think Ben ever got the respect he deserved from fans or the front office. I wish him the best and hope he signs with Texas so I can still root for him.
