  1. How in the heck can people pencil Brinson and Phillips into the outfiled next year? The two of them arent doing that well in AA and are both very young. At the earliest they may get called up in May of 2018.
  2. I dont understand how this is a PR move. This regime does not seem to operate in that fashion. If the kid was scheduled to be our opening day starter next year, then super 2 and extra years of control are completely moot. Think of it this way. If he comes up for two months and lights the world on fire, then great, its a great springboard into next spring at no extra cost. If he comes up for two months and is overmatched and hits a .196, then he starts in AAA next year and maybe doesnt come up until July 1, thereby getting back that extra year anyway. Im pretty sure Stearns is aware of service time, arby clocks, free agency, etc. and I highly doubt he is sacrificing any of that to appease Joe Lunchbucket who has most likely never heard of Orlanda Arcia before the starting lineups are announced. Chill out everyone.
  3. A lot of Brewer hitting prospects batting in the .220s. Not exactly tearing it up are Ray, Phillips, Clark, Lara, Nottingham and Harrison.
  4. Rumor: Dillon Tate to Yankees for Beltran on twitter
  5. I don't see the problem with trading him over winter or next deadline. This isn't on Luc at all. Cleveland foolish.
  6. That's a no brainer veto then. Good for Lucroy, dumb by Cleveland.
  7. In relation to what Cleveland got for Sabathis this is about on par for value. In relation to what teams are giving up for relievers today it's not. Perhaps fastest way to rebuild a farm system is to go cheap everywhere on the field but splurge on RP then trade for other teams #1 prospects.
  8. Explains why they wouldn't give up much for Lucroy.
  9. Generally speaking let's cut HighHeat some slack and get back to talking baseball.
  10. This kind of attitude contributed to the reception you got in the other thread. Want more behind the door info, then keep your mouth shut. I agree, HighHeat19. Nice scoop on this trade, your insider-ish info was spot on.
  11. Makes zero sense to settle now. Just keep him, two more chances to trade Lucroy over winter and next year at deadline. Sterns could get TDA and Nimmo (or similar caliber offer) next year. Why now? Earn some respect from these other GMs and just hang on to him for now, don't cave.
  12. I'm on my phone only so harder to cut/paste tweets. A lot of local beat writers mentioning teams were out on Luc.
  13. Twitter this morning saying Rangers Mets Indians out on Lucroy. Maybe Sterns should focus on trading those relievers.
  14. I'm worried my Boyer prediction may be off. No chatter on him at all.
  15. Heyman on Twitter said price for Guerra higher than Cashner, and should be.
  16. Why did the Reds trade him when they did?
  17. After Sale cut up the jerseys the White Sox were still going let him play beut the caveat was he would have to wear a diaper as well. Sale declined and was sent home.
  18. As the deadline nears, my prediction on who gets traded: 1. Boyer 2. That's it.
  19. is anyone aware of any real rumors surrounding Lucroy? For as strong a season he has had, I have not heard anything at all.
  20. I agree with this sentiment. Braun didnt make the All-Star team because most of the roster is picked by player vote now, and then the manager fills in with teams that are missing players, etc. Due to Braun's reaction AFTER being exonerated I think he really alienated a lot of people. If he had just kept his head down, said nothing, he wouldnt be any different than any other PED guy. But he is disliked by a lot of players (I believe) due to the way he acted AFTER he won.
  21. The problem with all star voting is plain and simple. electronic balloting. If they want to restore the balance and potentially the "magic" they need to go back to paper balloting at the game only. Those were the days! Too easy now to put in 100 ballots a day from your computer.
  22. I dont like Ray simply because he reminds me a lot of former Brewers #1 draft pick, Chad Green. I don't know why but he just does, then I go look up Chad Green on wikipedia and holy smokes, he went to Louisville (although my memory was Kentucky). I think that's a sign.
