  1. I agree with this take. I just won’t watch.
  2. That isn't surprising in this market. If I were more brave, I would sell all of my properties right now and then look to buy later after the adjustment. We bought ours for $130K and at one time could have gotten $170K just before the crash, where it dropped to $120K. Now, I could get $200K, if not more. A couple of months ago I mentioned to the wife that if the market starts to drop again, we're selling and cashing in on the profit. I won't make the same mistake twice. She wasn't too happy with the suggestion. Why sell? I never understood that, but i hear people say it. Unless your plan is to sell now, rent or live with a relative, then wait to buy when the next market dip happens. If not, then you’re just selling your 200k house (that was 130) and buying another 200k house (that used to be 130) or buying a 130k house that used to be 100k. Which presumably is less house than you have currently. If the entire market is going up, unless your plan is to NOT buy a new home, your not really gaining anything besides the headache of moving.
  3. Hooray! They signed a deal with a company that wont sign deals with streaming services! I am so relieved!
  4. I am going to stubbornly NOT watch, just like I have NOT watched the Bucks or any Badger basketball or hockey games that have not been on BTN. I will never ever subscribe to Charter Spectrum again. So either Sinclair comes to an agreement with my streaming service (YTTV) or it’s the radio for me.
  5. You realize that this FO has signed more free agents in 3 years than the previous FO did in like 15, right? Sorry for not being more specific. When said FA like Watt, I meant All-Pro types who are in their 30s. Charles Woodsoon being the exception I suppose. Adrian Amos was 25, Smith Brothers were 26. Mack was about 26 or so. JJ Watt is 31. Now. I do not care about that, I want Packers to sign him. But I just do not see it happening given their history with FAs.
  6. Lol at the Packers signing Watt. I would love love love it. I’d probably buy my first ever Packers player jersey, but the FO will not be signing free agents like Watt. If any FA ever. If not GB, I hope he goes to Pittsburgh and plays with his bros.
  7. They do need to free up another spot to add Turner.
  8. It is simple. It’s valuable because it’s an alternate currency. It’s value is being something that you can use to buy things with. The flip side is that nobody would ever spend it on anything, so I doubt it will ever be used for it’s intended purpose. Which, in my mind tells me it’s only valuable because someone else will pay you more than you paid for it to hold it in a digital wallet until they sell it to someone else for more. There. That is Bitcoin.
  9. I’m not in any position to say they Overpaid or didn’t. But when we ask teams to value players beyond their batting average like they did 40 years ago, and to perhaps use a metric like WAR or something slightly more advanced, we can’t say two players are comparable and then in the same breath say one has a much higher WAR. Again, who am I to say what anyone’s value is. But if we are using war, then Wong seems to have a distinguishable higher value which might explain the difference in salary.
  10. Well do I have bad news for you. Sinclair has explicitly said that the purpose of rebranding as Bally’s Sports Network is for the sole purpose of allowing fans to bet on the game in real time right through the channel (somehow).
  11. Cue the “he makes too much to risk getting hurt, Move him to 1b” talk. Maybe not this year, but that’s always my worry with paying a good athletic hitting catcher.
  12. Forgive me, for I am sure this has been asked and answered already. My parents recently moved to Arizona. If they buy the MLB package with their address and billing zip, will I be able to watch (Brewers games) with their account in Wisconsin?
  13. Watching this game makes me not care much if Wisconsin ever makes into the BCS playoff. Alabama is just always going to be a borderline professional team.
  14. What gives Bitcoin value. I understand that is is a “currency” but it is a currency that absolutely nobody will ever spend. You buying groceries with your Bitcoin? If it is never used for the one thing that it is - then what is it? That’s why I have never invested in it. People “want it” because it’s going up in value. It’s just a giant Ponzi scheme. Nobody buying today is buying it to spend with, they are buying to sell to the next guy at a higher price.
  15. I find this to be true, as my 14 year old sports fan “watches” most games while doing something else and having the highlights immediately sent to his phone as notifications when anything exciting happens. This is especially true for MLB and NFL.
  16. Before streaming services were a thing, presumably a company like Sinclair could sell their package to the local cable company, collect one fee, and that’s it. Now they could sell to charter, direct tv, DISH, YTTV, Hulu, sling, FUBO, Prime, etc etc. You might think with all of those contracts they could sell it cheaper to each company and still make more than they did 20 years ago
  17. If the pandemic has showed me anything, it’s that a life without watching live sports is quite fine with me. I switched to YTTV from Charter and I will never go back. I frankly do not want YTTV to cave to Sinclair. I’m dug in.
  18. That it is a brutal list of very high, failed draft picks.
  19. I do not want Dan Vogelbach on the team. He was fine to grab mid pandemic season after letting Smoak go, but to actually start a season thinking this guy is going to get any sort of meaningful playing time is inexcusable.
  20. I do not believe Josh Hader will be traded. He is controlled for a few more years and the returns offered by other teams will not be worth losing a key piece of the bullpen.
  21. If this guy is getting meaningful at bats this year, even as DH, then I think the off season is a massive fail. He isn't good.
  22. I like YTTV so much that I probably just wouldnt watch Bucks or Brewers games on TV anymore. The game watching experience is changing. My sons (the oldest is in High school) and they dont really watch the games, they get pop ups on their phones when something happens, they click on the link, watch the highlight and check score and move on with whatever they are or were doing. I cant really get them to sit through a game, even football. Too much down time in football especially. I hope Sinclair gets burned hard, TBH. I used to think the only reason for a cable subscription was live sports, but now that I have been without it due to COVID and now these RSN disputes. I dont care any more.
  23. I could not agree more. Well said.
  24. BLM, Kneeling for the anthem, just to name a couple... Huh. That’s weird. Never in a million years would I have thought those things were political. Im usually taking a leak or buying a beer when the anthem comes on, and unless the guy pouring me the beer stops, I don’t either. People today would have been irate about Jackie Robinson I suppose.
