  1. Other than Chacin, who do we have that isn't a 5 inning pitcher on his best days? Anderson?
  2. He's finally starting to hit. Hard to sit him now. There might also be the realization that he is no longer anything special. There is no reason to save him for the stretch run.
  3. If he can provide even a 4.5 ERA, that represents an improvement for our staff (!) My hopes are that Gonzales, Chase Anderson, & Jimmy Nelson can be solid if unspectacular starters for the Brewers, which would then put Woodruff & Peralta back in the bullpen where (in my opinion) they belong. I never understood why Woodruff & Peralta were considered starters in the first place. Neither has a 3rd pitch and they were great out of the bullpen down the stretch last year. Our present bullpen consists of an overrated Hader, Junior Guerra, Jeffress and a bunch of question marks. Adding some depth and putting pitchers into spots where their skillsets can shine would go a long ways towards righting this sinking ship! Now can we please sign Kimbrel next?!?!?!
  4. Haven't gotten a response to this so I'll ask here: if Braun is still hitting below .200 by June, does he get benched?
  5. I really hope Nelson can make it back. It'd be awesome for him and Lord knows the Brewers really need him. I'd put Woodruff back in the bullpen where he thrived last year. A pitcher like Woodruff, with 2 pitches and "working on a changeup" screams bullpen to me anyways. Let him play to his strengths instead of trying to force a square peg into a round hole.
  6. You are making too much sense. Knock it off! The Emporer wears no clothes.
  7. Unless you are a fan of 4-hour 12-10 games. Helps the beer sales at Miller Park. "Ooooh, look! Bernie is sliding again!!!"
  8. At least Shaw going deep might get his bat hot again (silver linings). Won't really matter without more pitching though
  9. I think the GM has his hands tied by ownership, but you certainly could be right. Either way it is incredibly disappointing. This team reminds me so much of the 2012 Brewers right now, at least the MLB team. There is at least more talent in the farm system than in 2012.
  10. I know its easy to take the "Well, it's not my money" philosophy, but the money this team has available to make outside acquisitions is still limited. They need to develop their own talent. I'd love to see them win a World Series in the next 2-3 years, but I'd also like to see a team that is a contender for the next decade, too. The question is limited by what? Not wanting to spend profits? Going into the red? It's all about how much do they have to spend and still be healthy. You cannot tell me one more piece and they are in financial strain. I don't buy it. On the other try being 8 or 9 out come August. That's money you will never get back due to empty seats. Your eyes aren't lying. This staff is brutal. 100% agree. I guess the plan is "if we're still in it in late July we'll trade for Bumgarner." That'd be too little too late.

Mark's ability to make money is a higher priority than winning it all. As long as the drunks keep filling the stands, they don't really care. I mean, a World Series win would be nice, but not at the risk of the bottom line
  12. The failure to add quality arms to this pitching staff could be seen as a failure if we miss the postseason, yes
  13. If Braun is still hitting below .200 by June, does he get benched?
  14. Jeffress is due back in a few weeks. Wilson & Claudio have looked pretty good at times. I would expect they'll add to the bullpen at the trade deadline.
  15. I'm very optimistic about Hiura, Ray & Turang.
  16. That Tom article does read like a message straight from the Brewers to Kimbrel's agent. I take the whole thing with a grain of salt. Also, the Braves are in the same situation with their bullpen.
  17. We are the 2012 Brewers. Lots of offense, not enough pitching. Mark is playing us fans like a bunch of suckers. PT Barnum would be proud
  18. There is no way I trade Corey Ray for a relief pitcher. The likelihood of Braun declining and/or becoming even less durable in the next few years (and even as soon as this year) is very high. Ray might be better than Braun right now. He certainly might be by 2020. Just sign Kimbrel. One less yacht for Mark ain't gonna kill him. We have a window open right now, but are teetering way too close to 2012 Brewers-land
  19. Oh for sure, acting like this was special will doom us to baseball hell for eternity. Thou must not have fun on a Baseball field. Never, ever, ever.
  20. 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 85-77 Playoffs (Yes, No): No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: None All-Star Game Representative(s): Hader, Yelich Offensive Player of the Year: Travis Shaw Starting Pitcher of the Year: Burnes Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Chace Anderson
  21. HA! I've been thinking that for days, and usually, the mods catch and correct this kind of stuff in the thread titles... Glad I'm not the only one this has bothered... +1 here too I'm really surprised Kimbrel isn't signed. There must be a huge divide between what he thinks he is worth & what teams are willing to pay, both in terms of AAV & years.
  22. At some point the "manager" will be a computer in the dugout with a Baseball hat sitting on top of it's monitor.
  23. Doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. I prefer the Forum without a "Like" button but is not exactly a make or break type issue, to me.
