  1. I would guess the number of MLB players that are truly outraged about what the Astros did is extremely small. We want to believe all these guys really care about winning but the vast majority of them only care that the check clears. In my opinion, you are on the right path, but go a little further. The pitchers that faced cheating Astros had their stats negatively effected, which in turn hurts their earning power. The Astros are gonna get beaned. A lot.
  2. OK, it’s official, Holt will never sit vs RHP. Unless “Holty” needs a rest.

  4. Depends on if he reminds Counsell of himself.
  5. Anybody get some fun tickets? Any games selling out quickly? Any problems getting in? Just picked up 3 tickets in Row 6 of the 200 level for one of the Yankees games. Looking forward to it
  6. It was fun to see! Yelich can take that next step into being a Superstar with another MVP type season and being more “high profile”. Anything positive he does in that regard just helps add to the Brewers’ profile and status
  7. The Wild Card game is a Game 7. The team that invested in better pitching won. The Brewers go as cheap as they can get away with, every year, and lost. The Brewers have also never drafted & developed a pitcher like Strasburg.
  8. This is when you hope the Player’s Union can be strong in standing up to Manfred’s wacky ideas. It seems like Manfred wants MLB to be more like the NBA.
  9. Wow. Pretty awful.
  10. The Braun deal really wasn’t bad at all, in a vacuum. The only reason it could be thought of as a “bad deal” is in the context of not allowing the Brewers the flexibility to spend that money on a player or players who might’ve ended up being more valuable than Braun
  11. Trout Rendon Ohtani Pederson Not a bad heart of the order. I’d like to see Trout in the playoffs too
  12. Extending Yelich helps guarantee the Brewers will not be title contenders unless the Brewers suddenly become zen wizards at drafting a developing multiple Cy Young & MVP candidates.
  13. It’s depressing to even think about. However, yes, if they are out of it at the trade deadline in July 2021 and get blown away by an offer, then yes. I don’t think they’ll be out of it in either 2021 or 2022. I could see, and would actually prefer, that they keep him through the 2022 season and really go for it.
  14. On paper at least the Brewers have created a very good amount of depth among their position players. I’m a little concerned about their starting pitching depth
  15. I’m hoping some of you wise folks can tell me your methodology for comparing the value of starting pitchers vs relief pitchers, especially if there is specific statistical data that you use. The elite relief pitchers have lower WHIP & FIP numbers, but obviously pitch less innings. In regards to the Brewers: how many of the Brewers starting pitchers are more valuable than Josh Hader? What about Corey Knebel (if he returns to 2018 numbers/production)? How do you go about comparing the value of Josh Hader Vs Woodruff? (For instance).
  16. I’d be all for the Brewers taking on Arenado’s contract, absolutely. Chances are, Mark won’t want to do that though...
  17. I still love his comment that 3TO guys without speed are “just base cloggers”!
  18. Yes. I think they’ve done enough to be a playoff contender. They have also “saved some bullets” in terms of payroll flexibility in order to make significant moves at the deadline. Do I think the Brewers have done enough to be considered a World Series front runner? No. I’ve come to terms that they may never do that, unless they start to draft & develop multiple Cy Young candidates and/or MLB adopts a hard salary cap ala the NFL.
  19. He’s not close to Top 10 All Time overall players, but he’s clearly one of the Top 5 Shortstops of All Time and has the World Series rings and iconic status and performance in the clutch that makes him a slam dunk unanimous Hall of Famer.
  20. I’ll probably still call it Miller Park because I’m getting older and more “stubborner”
  21. Dusty Baker interviewing with the Astros for their vacant Manager position
  22. Hader not being traded yet seems like a clear indication of how much the Brewers value him as a true weapon out of the bullpen. They aren’t going to just give him away. I would expect that they will keep him unless blown away by a blockbuster deal. Such a stance has risk (relievers are volatile year to year) but understandable. If the Brewers are out of it at the trade deadline I could see trade talks re Hader heating up substantially.
  23. HGH is very valuable for recovery from anything whether that be simple workout soreness or injury. It can also aid in increasing lean muscle mass, as well as providing more energy & endurance for workouts
  24. I wonder if Roenicke is a safe hire, considering that MLB is still investigating the 2018 Red Sox
