  1. Nice rehab outing for Davies with Timber Rattlers: 2.1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 4K, 30 pitches/21 strikes
  2. Not super optimistic that Schoop would be a significant offensive upgrade. And even though we're looking for offense, Schoop is a better defender than any of our current options and Shaw at 2B scares the crap out of me.
  3. And for a position player, several (including myself) were also wondering why bringing back Neil Walker wasn't considered and he went cheap a couple weeks into spring training.
  4. Not sure I'd give them much of anything considering the Reds got Harvey for Mesoraco, a 30 year old with an expiring contract (that they're paying half on), and we seem to be the only team involved. A starter who might get you through 5 innings is just another body. Yes, we could use another one of those, but the value is low.
  5. Damn, poor Lopez managed to pitch three perfect innings and keep his pitch count astoundingly low just to avoid this. Good call to get Arcia back up. He was damn good in AAA. Soria, Albers likely back tomorrow. Villar can't be far behind. Trade deadline in 5 days. Going to be some major roster shakeup.
  6. May be reading into it a bit, but that could also could indicate that the Brewers are high on the progress Diplan has made this year (or that the ChiSox weren't). He's only 21, but keeping him on the 40 man for what's likely to be two full years before he has any MLB value can be complicated.
  7. Schedule a layover on the way out west to pick him up. It's time.
  8. Don't tell me this is another one of those 9th innings where we'll score 5 and come up just short after being pathetic for 8 innings.
  9. Got to feel for Lopez, trying hard to both pitch perfectly and not throw pitches, since failing at either will get him 10 more days in the minors.
  10. Arcia with 3 more hits tonight, up to a .350 average in AAA. Can't see how a post-deadline roster shakeup doesn't involve him back up by the next home stand, if they don't just pull the trigger and bring him back for the road trip.
  11. It will be interesting what this injury will do to his career. I hope he is still in the dugout for the remainder of the season. I was thinking the same thing. If TJ costs him any velocity, that's probably it for him. I'm not sure he ever makes it back to a major league mound. At that point, does he try to go full Rick Ankiel? He may be a serviceable hitter with full focus, and he's plenty athletic to play a corner outfield.
  12. Suter and Perez should totally just swap positions.
  13. Taking that 47 mph ball in the middle of the back probably felt like a massage.
  14. Supposed to be throwing a live bullpen in the next day or two. Not sure if they would do another if that goes well or send him right out to a rehab assignment.
  15. Not exactly a confidence-inspiring rotation, but it's lining up to be Chacin, Guerra, Peralta, Miley, Anderson going forward. So no need for Suter or Woodruff, at least for a few times through.
  16. Suter should minimally be the odd man out now that Peralta is coming back. I've had more than my fill of the 85 mph fastballs. I'd rather see him pinch-hitting than starting. Perez as the odd man out when Arcia and Villar return would be welcome as well. Braun finally making good contact, but can't buy a hit.
  17. Thought for sure we were in for an episode of Send 'em Home Sedar there.
  18. Whatever number equates to "put Jeffress in instead".
  19. Sometimes hard to believe he finished .277/.324/.407, or that in spite of the perceived streakiness only had one month below a .700 OPS. I'll take that again.
  20. Our equivalent would probably have been too costly. The Dodgers can just pay Machado in the off-season and buy someone else, so good with sitting this one out.
  21. And now his Twitter is deleted. It was in slang fashion and not on the level of Hader's, but just more reason they need to be doing a scrub of everyone in the organization (including minors).
  22. Assigning an intern to review history of all players in the organization and prospective trade targets wouldn't be the worst of ideas.
