  1. Nice hustling Lohse! About time we make Bruce the Brewer Killing Bum look a little bad.
  2. I love the Reds' announcers trying to explain our first base situation, finding that balance between harsh realism and the requisite tact.
  3. Sidenote - we need more time for Telly on the field like tonight. Charismatic, brings the right amount of content into the discussion, and has a clear presentation.
  4. Yep, not on Ron. As Bill said, Braun simply isn't comfortable hacking 3-0. And not going to do anything to go out arguing balls and strikes unless it's screwing us consistently. Hasn't been a good zone, but hasn't been against us all night.
  5. I was expecting another Atlanta Meltdown, with choosing a warmed Kintzler about the same as a cold Smith. Two runs in is a huge break.
  6. Unbelievable. They review plays that can't be determined even by video, then miss blatant calls that replay was supposed to correct.
  7. I fully expected an out on an out of zone first pitch after watching three guys get on without a hit. Moral victory to see five pitches.
  8. Ask Augie: What kind of pitch is a curveball? If a pitch is off-speed, how would you classify it?
  9. No-brainer over Bianchi and Falu. Comparing just with Weeks' role over the next 3 months? Tougher call. Can see how the flexibility potentially saves a roster spot, just think we're so far away from having the requisite depth to use the roster spot in another way that nets a positive.
  10. Hey, a Gomez 2-out steal of third was actually beneficial.
  11. Where'd Scooter go? Is the Twitter word a joke or for real?
  12. The MLB.TV app for Fire TV also came out last week, finally. Gets the job done in that you can watch games, but somewhat disappointing that it has none of the features that the browser version has, nor the At Bat app. Wooten, then Duke. Everything ok with Will Smith? Had a couple bad outings, but I thought the dominant last outing plus time off would have had him in.
  13. And his "fluke" power last year resulted in a .479 slugging percentage. This year: .495.
  14. Wish we could hammer Strasburg like we did in Milwaukee. That was with the split squad lineup, so the regulars have something to prove.
  15. Brewers: 4-7, 1 Run, 2 RBIs. 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER. The Keepers of Baseball Etiquette: 1.1 IP, 6 H, 5 ER. The rest of the NL pitchers have allowed 1 hit and no runs in 4.2 IP...though that was a pretty play by Gordon/Freeman to get K-Rod through hitless.
  16. He just suggested the Rockies would think about trading Tulowitzki...really? Absurd, and even if it wasn't it's certainly not the time or place. Probably where they belonged, but if they want to get a chip on their shoulder in the second half over imagined slights that's perfectly fine by me.
  17. Thought that was weird too. Had to do some Rookie ball research due to the curiosity. Looks like it was slightly off, as they play three other teams. Probably missed that the GCL Cardinals and GCL Marlins are both "Jupiter" and share a park. It's a 16 team league with four divisions. It looks like two of the divisions are close to Tampa and play each other, but the "East" or "South" divisions don't, so their ~64 game schedule is against three other teams. The Northeast and Northwest divisions both have Yankees affiliates who play each other...got to love getting drafted and assigned to the "GCL Yankees 1" or "GCL Yankees 2". Can certainly see how getting sent to the GCL can be rough. By contrast, our Arizona League Brewers are in a 13-team league and four team division, but play inter-division against the rest of the league, so the schedule at least has some variation to it. Helena (Pioneer League) plays in an eight team, two division league that plays all other teams.
  18. Elian Herrera is now hitting .276 for the season and .328 as a left-handed hitter. What? Smart move switching Braun into his three spot and Lucroy to fifth. Braun is most consistent hitter at the moment, and Lucroy is in a mini-slump.
  19. No doubt he's a true Brewer. He pees his pants against the Cardinals like the rest of them.
