  1. -Ryan Braun has moved into the top 300 players (299th) of all time with two hits last night which were his 1,909 and 1,910. -Ryan Braun now has 340 home runs and that puts him in the top 100 of all time as well. Here are Braun's crazy splits this year but it shows that he's doing some good things offensively for us: Ryan Braun as Starter: .295/.350/.523/.873 with a 127 OPS+ (89 Games started - 387 PA's) Ryan Braun as a Sub: .154/.214/.192/.407 with a 17 OPS+ (27 Games entered - 28 PA's) Ryan Braun Overall: .286/.341/.500/.841 with a 113 OPS+
  2. Crap. At this point, stick him in the rotation and let him get 3 innings every 5 days. Couldn't hurt right now.
  3. I hope they don't go into any offseason thinking they have to spend "X" amount of dollars to be competitive. Continue to make smart deals when they can be had and find bargains as well. Build as much depth on the 40-man roster as they can. On top of this, keep trying to improve on draft and develop because even if some of those players never wear Brewers uniforms, they can be used as currency to find pieces to keep us competitive or to push us over the top in a year in which it looks like we can win the whole thing. While going out and trying to track down an "ace" for $30+ million a year, I just don't believe that is a good financial plan for the Brewers.
  4. I’m not sure what the hold up is. Wilkerson/Jackson stink and Suter looks ready. Let’s go.
  5. Destined to be a massive failure? Oh, the dramatics. Yeah the staff crashed and burned and we can all have 20/20 now and try to nail Stearns for it. Or realize that sometimes baseball is an odd game and things happen. Unfortunately this season too many of them regressed or flat out lost their way. It was risky going in with three young pitchers but it’s a risk I hope he continues to take. It will be the only way we find young controllable pitchers for our rotation and when we do that, we will find that sustained success everyone is looking for.
  6. Hopefully Stearns doesn’t overreact and make dumb moves to try to have quick fixes. Continue surrounding the core players with as much depth as he can. If Moose/Grandal can be had for their options, great. But don’t be tossing them multiple years. Continue searching for younger-controllable players.
  7. Hopefully JJ will take his pitching and food truck to a different state next season. Awful.
  8. thoughts on him moving to LF or 1B? LF could open up after Braun if Grisham can play CF ok. For 1B, we'll he's taller than Prince and of course it's just way easier and with very little throwing. As someone who is fairly athletic you'd kind of hate to use DH on him instead of a slower/bigger,/older etc type person His arm looks worse than Khrush so I’d pass on LF. His glove skills don’t look much better than his little league arm so not sure how he’d look at 1B. I am shocked he’s taller than Prince because he looks tiny. Just not sure he’s ever going to be that useful in the field.
  9. After thinking about it more, I don’t think they should lock him up. If they knew 100% that the DH was coming I’d say yes. But his defense is trash and I doubt it gets much better.
  10. You should compare the Reds “success” to the Brewers and see what ya come up with.
  11. As much as a "scorched earth rebuild" would probably be a good thing for 2022 and beyond, I just cannot see it occurring with MA. He wants to win and he wants his money. Selling off Yelich and Co. would alienate the fan base too much. On top of that, they have a couple of young guys (Hiura/Grisham/Woody) that look ready to take on major roles going forward. They are in a solid spot financially as Braun will be in his last season ( ) and really the only crap contract may end up being Cain going forward. If Stearns can't work with that and build a winner than he probably isn't worth much as a GM anyways. I hope people to really understand that each season is different. We saw that last year and this year. We had guys we thought were going to be major contributors in both seasons crap out and do nothing for us. This year we have been hit a bit harder than last and we were able to get hot at the right time. A little perspective goes a long way when looking at things.
  12. Agree 100%. Doing that only gets you in trouble financially and skins your depth/minor system. And most times it doesn’t give you the bump worthy of the negative.
  13. I’m not to the point that I don’t watch but I’m close. I watch Packers games and that’s about it. I don’t do as much fantasy either. Just doesn’t hold my attention like it once did. Heck, even when I watch now I record and start watching later so I can fast forward commercials and sometimes in between the plays.
  14. CC is an idiot. Why wouldn’t you leave Braun in the game here? He would be due up 5th which is just about where you need to get to next inning to make this one interesting.
  15. Really excited for Braun’s at bat in the 9th with no one on and down at least 3. Solid managing.
  16. Great post. It feels like he's had some missed opportunities with risp but who on this team hasn't? That said the guy makes a huge difference when he's in the lineup. RISP: .280/.368/.549/.917 RISP w/2 outs: .263/.349/.632/.980 Those are some damn good numbers. If more in our lineup were “clutch” or whatever we wanna call it, we would be in the drivers seat of this division right now.
  17. I’m good with us going different routes. Would love more youth on this team.
  18. How he has a 40-man spot has always been something I’ve wondered.
