  1. Woof. Briggs has every right to complain now. $2.4 for this guy? At least Scooter could hit. Good for Sogard though. Talk about making bank off one hot month your entire career.
  2. What a great deal and so awesome to hear a guy that wants to commit to what is happening in Milwaukee. Hopefully, this past calendar year is what we are getting and we have one of the better pitchers in the NL on our hands for a really reasonable contract.
  3. We have went down this road too many times to expect different results. No, no, and no. Stop trying to find a rotation past 30, especially when we have options on the way. Unless Lynn is coming on a 1 year deal, no thanks.
  4. Congrats to CC! Hopefully, he will add another World Series to that resume in his tenure as the Brewers manager. All managers make questionable decisions over the course of a 162 game schedule. Counsell is no different. He did very well with the roster that was given to him. 86 wins (only been topped 9 times in our 40+ year history ) are incredible considering what all those "experts" and computers projected us at.
  5. I'm always amazed at people not willing to give McCarthy credit. Rodgers probably isn't the QB he is today without him. Favre doesn't change at the end of his career without him.
  6. Such a poor job by McCarthy today. Never have I really questioned his ability as a coach, as I’ve though he is one of the best, but today I did. I’m not even going to judge Hundley based on today’s performance because he has a HC with his head up his butt and did not put him in any position to succeed. And that was with a great running game. Pathetic.
  7. These lists are always tough but they seem to be getting even tougher. That's a great problem to have. I also love that we do this because it forces me to look up guys I forget about during the season. Fun stuff! 1. Corbin Burnes 2. Freddy Peralta 3. Lewis Brinson 4. Brandon Woodruff 5. Brett Phillips 6. Keston Huira 7. Luis Ortiz 8. Lucas Erceg 9. Tristen Lutz 10. Monte Harrison 11. Taylor Williams 12. Isan Diaz 13. Trent Clark 14. Jake Gatewood 15. Corey Ray 16. Troy Stokes Jr. 17. Mauricio Dubon 18. Bubba Derby 19. Kodi Medeiros 20. Trey Supak 21. Josh Pennington 22. Jacob Nottingham 23. Mario Feliciano 24. KJ Harrison 25. Larry Ernesto Missing Notables: Marcos Diplan, Cody Ponce, Adrian Houser, Phil Bickford, Jordan Yamamoto, Jorge Lopez
  8. Just because you have success doesn't mean you won't have flaws in the process. That is exactly what our GM is there to target. Is it so out of this world to think that the Cubs don't have flaws just because they've had some great success the past three seasons?
  9. Hader will be a 20 game winner in a couple of years so probably a good decision to hold onto him.
  10. Yeah I should’ve put the part about his wife in blue. Lol
  11. The man is filthy. It’s too bad his wife hates Milwaukee.
  12. Well the Bucks got put in their place early in the season.
  13. I just don't see Thames getting that much of his playing time cut. He will be the starter at 1B against RHP. I don't have any doubt in that. If Braun can fill the role of a 1B against LHP and then start other games in LF against RHP. We may have a great solution to the OF "jam". I'm not even sure there is one because Brinson needs to prove he is a player that can make it 100+ games and he didn't exactly look too comfortable in that first stint. Couple that with Broxton's inability to stay out of cold streaks and we might not have the "perfect" solution with the players that we have.
  14. Adam is correct. I meant Harper. Just got mixed up on his FA date. I like Harper. I think he's a great player. But he will get an insane amount of money and I want it to be from the Cubs. I want them to hamstring themselves.
  15. ??? Did you mean Kris Bryant or did mean NEXT offseason for Harper? Harper is a free agent after the 2018 season so the Cubs can't pony up a contract for him this offseason... Oh yeah, jumped the gun there. Next offseason works too.
  16. I hope the Cubs get silly and give Bryce Harper the money this offseason. Let another big contract take money away from a possible pitcher.
  17. Bullpen rules all again: "Dodgers bullpen in NLCS vs Cubs- 58 batters faced, 4 H, 1 BB, 22 K's, 0.00 ERA, 0.294 WHIP" Those numbers are insane.
  18. My only beef with keeping Keon is will his K rate ever improve enough where he's not a black hole if he's not in one of his crazy hot streaks? The Keon's of our team really do make it hard on our lineup. It would be great to move away from this type of player if we could. If we believe he can, I'm all for moving Brinson. I have said in other posts that I'm just not a believer that this guy will stay healthy so if we can get a huge return for him, let's do it.
  19. This list just shows that nothing is guaranteed. It is kind of sad to read some of these because they had such high hopes as a Brewer.
  20. Ironically, I did this for consistency before I even saw your post. Well thank you either way.
  21. I know we are joking around but these threads make me sad because it shows how little success this organization has had.
  22. Don't we already do something similar with this in Toronto and Canada's exchange rate?
  23. Well even before the season starts, we don't get great news. Herro de-commits as the rumors for Duke moving on it.
  24. No divisions. AL and NL and take the top 5 teams. Play a balanced schedule so all are equal. Enough of teams catching breaks based on their schedules. Put the DH in the NL and start making some common sense decisions.
  25. His dumb off/screen passes last game was brutal. He needs to connect on these short passes to make it easier for him. Even the catch - no catch for Montgomery. He threw it so hard. No need for that crap. He missed many screens as well. Just needs to flat out be better in this department if he wants to move the ball.
