  1. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it. At least for me. Vogt was fine a year ago as a bandaid but to me he’s done. He was so bad defensively. I’ll gladly pay $12 mil to Luc to secure that position for the upcoming season and it has zero to do with him being an ex Brewer.
  2. I wouldn't mind bringing Lucroy back either if he is relatively inexpensive. I love Pina, but I am not sold on any of Vogt, Bandy, Susac as backups moving forward. If Lucroy could be had for say a two year $20 million contract, I would gladly bring him back and let him catch 2/3 of the time. As long as we give him a no trade clause, I'm good with it. Heck, maybe we can try to trade him for Mejia again.
  3. I think it is easier for people to want to go after a name brand like Archer rather than wait out the Brewers wave of players that are on their way. We have guys lighting it up in the minor leagues right now that is not too far off from being at the major league level and it is very easy to get impatient for that wave to come.
  4. Just coming back to this thought. If Lucroy is really only 1 year and $12 million, the Brewers should jump on that. He would be another great bounce-back candidate for them to possibly flip again or if the Brewers are competing, another solid bat in the lineup. Even if he wanted a 2nd-year club option involved, I think it would be a good decision to do. He would provide a good bat in the later parts of our lineup. Something like: 1-Villar (hopefully back to 2016) or Sogard 2-Braun 3-Shaw 4-Santana 5-Thames 6-Lucroy 7-Phillips 8-Arcia Pina is a very nice catcher but just not sure he's a 120 game catcher and Lucroy isn't anymore either. These two would make a nice backstop next season if the price is right.
  5. Blows my mind, but there ya go. I thought the people saying zero votes were crazy. They were right. I was wrong. He needed to finish stronger than he did. He wasn't good the last three months (low .600 OPS during that time) of the season. When you put that with his age and only playing about 100 games, he just wasn't a real good candidate.
  6. Not saying it will or would happen but it would be some kind of awesome if the Pats had to surrender a draft choice to the Packers because of this.
  7. Thames and Aguilar straight up. Man, I should be GM.
  8. NO- Neil Walker - 3 years/$33M HELL NO- Arietta - 4/$96M MAYBE, if 3rd year is a team option- Chatwood - 3/$30M MAYBE, if 3rd year is a team option- Lance Lynn - 3/$48M NO- Sabathia - 2/$30M NO- Cobb - 4/$60M LOL NO- Hosmer - 6/$126M UGH, YES, if this is all he costs- Lucroy - 1/$12M (thinks he'll try and build back up his stock) YES- Swarzak - 3/$15M YES- Neshak - 2/$14M NO- Cashner - 2/$20M
  9. Bullpen arms can be found on a yearly basis. Can great starting pitching? Hader possibly could be that ACE this franchise has so desperately needed.
  10. He just got done saying he was retiring and then a possible shoulder injury that required surgery. Yeah I’m sure tons of teams were lining up for his services.
  11. Yes, this is exactly it. Anyone who makes a claim that these D1 kids should have time off should take the time to inform themselves that they are the only ones who do not have a playoff system.
  12. Surprised he didn't chase 3,000 hits but what a heck of a career he had.
  13. I really don't want to see Harbaugh coached team wreck our season.
  14. Well to his credit, that would be about 10 walks over that six years.
  15. Seems to always roll right and rarely attacks the line of scrimmage when doing so. Rodgers needs to teach him the reverse pivot roll left play. I guess he did have a hammy issue today.
  16. I just hope that we don’t spend money on a player just because. The free agent class doesn’t really do it for me. Would rather go internal for another year and see how some of the player shake out.
  17. Football IQ isn’t there yet. Called a timeout today when the first quarter was going to expire anyways. Never sees the blitz. Had opportunities to run today and didn’t. Just not too impressed with this guy. Annnnnd then he put together a great drive to put them back up by 10. Maybe it is the play calling holding him back, I don’t know. He looked great there.
  18. I don’t buy that it dilutes the regular season. At least not as many make it out to be. Those conference championship games would be amazing as well as the many conference game at the end of the season to even get into those games. Plus with 3 at large bids, teams with really strong conferences would still have an opportunity not to be left out.
  19. An 8 team playoff eliminates leaving out a power 5. It also brings in a possible team like UCF that wouldn’t have a chance in any other scenario. In no other sport is there so many meaningless games with teams that have zero opportunity to be crowned champions. It’s quite a sham they have going on.
  20. When I was watching Bama tonight, I kept thinking about how much the Badgers would run the ball on them and that on the defensive side of the ball, they have plenty of talent to stop them.
  21. 1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Oklahoma 4. Miami 5. Wisconsin 6. Auburn 7. Ohio State 8-11. A bunch of 1-2 loss teams. (Penn St, TCU, USC, Georgia) 12. UCF Bama and Auburn will play each other. Auburn losing helps. Miami and Clemson play each other. One of them blowing out the other helps. I could still see the Badgers getting smoked by OSU in the B10 game and somehow they get in after all these other teams beat each other.
  22. The good thing about tonight is they are scoring at will. 46 points in the first half? Nicely done. I hope this team surprises a lot of people this season.
  23. Badgers on BTN Plus. Such crap. My excitement for the opener didnt last long.
  24. Just because he's a successful businessman does not mean it could be a poor decision or one that quite a few fans may not care for.
  25. Why? Because in my opinion, the area is a dump. There are so many nice places in the Phoenix area and the Brewers will now be stuck in it the for the next 25 years.
