  1. Low numbers for samples but Narvaez is 0 for 11 against Hendricks and Pina is 2 for 13. Pina hasn't played a lot so might make sense to get him his at bats today.
  2. I think Tom's argument is dumb but I think the number switch is dumber.
  3. Don't feel too nervous. It's April. The Brewers are playing good ball and seem to have a nice roster. It's going to be a solid summer of baseball no matter the outcome of this series.
  4. This can’t be helping things: Keston’s mother has cancer.
  5. I think the problem with seeking that competitive environment for a lot of families is that it is parent-driven and not driven because their kid is excelling in the sport or wants that more competitive environment.
  6. No, I want to see Hiura get his act together and keep guys like McKinney and Big Mac Daddy Vogelbach churning out W's for the crew. We don't need no stinking Cubs help.
  7. I'd prefer the Cubs stay just relevant enough (while staying firmly behind the Brewers in the standings) that they feel forced to hang on to all their impending free agents, and not have the opportunity to sell them at the deadline to restock their system. I don't know. Game 163 was the start of the unraveling. I think it would be poetic for the Brewers to put the final nail in the coffin of that group. But yes, this also would work for me with dealing with the Cubs.
  8. Man, I hate off-days when your team is winning. I want to watch Brewers baseball tonight! It would be great to keep piling on the Cubs and bury them early in the season. Sell. Sell. Sell!
  9. I don't mind travel teams at a certain age. I think travel teams have helped kill youth sports at a young age and that has a ripple effect of having low numbers in just about any sport. If you're 8, you don't need a travel team. Develop your skills. Most travel teams I've seen are game-based and not really designed to develop skills. Not all but most.
  10. Narvaez has been moved up. He's been in the 2-hole and 5-hole pretty consistently lately. Shaw has run into some bad luck lately but is still finding ways to knock in runs.
  11. He's been flat-out awesome. I loved the transaction and thought he would do just fine for us. Well, he has been way more than fine. We have the best catching duo in the league. When Pina is rested, he is pretty darn good as well.
  12. WE WIN AGAIN!!!! SWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPP!!!!!!!
  13. And you all second guess Counsell!! The Wisconsin native does it again!
  14. Picking at the phrasing I used is fine. The Brewers don't normally send guys down that quickly. Think Shaw two seasons ago. So many wanted to send him down after about two weeks and they rolled with him for over half of the season. I just don't believe they operate like many of our posters want them to. And I am good with that. Give him the at bats and continue to work with him. If it doesn't work in by the all-star break, then find a better option. Plenty of at bats to be had for the big mama jama Vogelbach and our new Yelich, McKinney.
  15. I love this damn thread! Brewers on pace to win 99 games and we haven't really hit a weaker portion of our schedule yet!
  16. If it is one thing that the Brewers don't do is give up on players quickly as fans do. They will give him time to right the ship and get out of it and rightfully so. They're winning games, beating good teams, and having success as not only not allowing runs but also scoring runs.
  17. A 4-strikeout night for Javier Báez. He's now struck out in 48.4% of his plate appearances this season. Tough start offensively for him. #Cubs Hiura has been bad. But not this bad.
  18. How will he be the next Grisham? Grisham forced his way into the roster as 22. Taylor is now 27. I don’t think other than playing OF for the Brewers that they could be any different in their paths or experience with the organization.
  19. JBJ is here for his offense. If not, we just paid $12 this year for a backup OF with a glove. He hits or he’ll be just that, a late game OF defensive replacement. I think you took that a bit too literal. The theme is defense up and down our roster. They wanted to help save runs this season. JBJ will have his streaks and will be just fine for the Brewers.
