That was just bad basketball tonight. Not only that but they were out worked, out hustled, all game long. Deserved to get their butts kicked and they did. So a still photo allowed you to draw the conclusion that this kid stares at his phone for 3hrs straight and also has zero knowledge of the game? If today's technology was available in 1980 people would be doing the exact same thing. I'm sure this kid wouldn't have exponentially increased his knowledge of the game if he was watching this pitch then bat flying at his face. He probably would have sat there like a deer in headlights - and if that happened what would your response be then? Fans who pay attention get drilled all the time by balls and bats. HE'S A KID. They don't have the attention span adults do. He just as easily could have been watching his favorite player in the field to see how he's moving defensively and setting up in position, which means he's not watching the pitch nor the bat flying at his face. But because he happened to be looking at his phone instead EVERYTHING changes even though the outcome wouldn't have. And I have no problem sitting directly behind a net because it's never an issue unless you actively focus on the net, which some people can't help but do. Lol, touched a nerve did I? It's today's society but my point was if the kid got whacked with the bat, he'd pay more attention at the ball game. I remember being the catcher for my dad while he was hitting infield practice to my older brothers team. I stepped behind him once and he warned me to watch what I was doing so I wouldn't get hit. Two practices later, I wasn't so luck and took a good smack on the back of the head. Never again did I make that mistake. But to the original point, technology sucks in this instance. It's going to movies and having a trillion ads tell you to turn your phone off but someone still sitting on their phones. Or going out to dinner and seeing everyone at the table face deep in their phones instead of interacting with one another. OR at a stinking baseball game, where I see kids just like that watch about 25% of the actual game because they are playing computer games on their phones. You make a claim based on a photo, but then scold me for making one? Get a clue buddy. Or better yet, get lost. I'm sorry about this last statement. It was unneeded and not appropriate.

The kid with a smartphone is the epitome of today's society. Pay that money to sit there and look at the screen on your phone rather than actually learn the game of baseball. A negative about the man saving his is that the kid won't learn his lesson because the bat didn't hit him. He probably thinks it's "cool."

And he'll be overpaid shortly... this is a non-story to me.

Montero can also be one of those guys that hits well at AAA but the light switch goes off at the next level. Carter will give you 35HR (if healthy) even being contact-challenged. Neither is the future 1b so I don't see the point in adding Montero Yeah, we could sign Montero who has hit 28 home runs in 5 season of pro ball and a career mid .600's OPS..... or we could just let Carter and his 109 HR's in 6 seasons with an OPS of in the mid .700's. It is not all about striking out.

Braun just a couple days ago: "I've never been more athletic than I am right now," said Braun. "I can say that objectively because I do a lot of the same things as far as running, jumping, speed-wise, all that stuff. I'm easily as athletic as I've ever been. Overall I don't feel like I've lost anything." Sounds confident as ever and they are talking about him playing 150+: Braun has played 61, 135 and 140 games in the past three years. Assuming his back holds up, the goal will be to get back into the 150s this year. "I don't think you ever plan on anybody (playing) 162," Counsell said. "I always shoot for 150."

If this is an assessment of the Maryvale area, then I can get on board with the statement. However, if this is an assessment of the stadium and the practice fields themselves, then it is a very large overstatement. Take the stadium site and practice fields and place them into Glendale, Scottsdale, Surprise or Peoria and it becomes one of the best venues in Arizona. Yeah, I can agree with this statement. The field facility itself is very nice. I just like to indulge in nice restaurants/bars before or after the game. Or for my wife, shopping venues is nice as well.

Stallone not winning is a joke. Another instance of the Oscars being the Oscars and going away from mainstream just to do it.

The Brewers need to get out of Maryville. Plays is a dump. All the other teams have nice locations with great amenities around them and the Brewers need to get in one of those locations. I much rather go to games where they are the visitor because of this.

The bolded section alone makes me feel better about this years Brewers team in terms of being competitive in games this season. I almost forgot how truly awful those two were for us. All it takes is for one team to believe he will help their club down the stretch. Garza was pitiful last season but to write him off because of it might be a little near sighted. If he pitches well through June/July, there will be teams looking for veteran rotation help. He's been traded in the past and there's no reason to believe he couldn't be again.

These are probably the exact goals that could realistically be done. I like it.

If they have to interview at least three people, I wonder if I should apply to see if I can be one of them. How awesome would that be?
