  1. Ole Sugar Bear drafting a punter in the third round in 2004 was incredible. Although he hit on Walker and Kampman in 2003 and Barnett in 04. The rest was pretty dismal.
  2. Bucs, Packers, 49ers, Saints, Seahawks all could. Heck, I'd give Chicago a punchers chance also.
  3. Per TH: Brett Phillips said he had some 500 text messages from well wishers after winning Game 4 of World Series, including one from former #Brewers teammate Ryan Braun. "I didn't go to bed until 4 a.m. after replaying to every single one of those messages." Pay the man.
  4. With the Mets having Cano, not sure they’d want Hiura with no guarantee of a DH on the horizon.
  5. You’re saying you expected Yelich, Hiura, Narvaez, Holt, Sogard, Smoak, and Garcia to post far below their career norms for production? I'm saying for what I witnessed this summer, 89 seems like 120. It felt more like a 50 for most of the summer.
  6. It'll be interesting to see how Jerry handles it. He stuck with Jason Garrett for longer than a lot of people thought he would. Now, his roster has gone to hell, he's just hired MM, and might want to take a long look in the mirror as to why this team isn't good.
  7. Keep scoring. All gas today.
  8. Second drive was all over the place. Ish.
  9. Borat the sequel was great. I can not believe some of the things he pulled off in this one. I used to watch that character, among others, on the Ali G show on HBO. Can’t believe it’s come this far. Good stuff.
  10. Hell, 89 is looking pretty good considering that roster we saw this summer. Give the man a raise. And that’s with Hiura and Yelich being duds.
  11. One would argue that Taylor helped him. Teams loaded the box and allowed Coan to have more success. Couple that with a lot of safer type throws and you get yourself a Badger QB. I think he’s on the higher end of the Badger QB spectrum. Just not nearly as high as you are with him nationally. Never happy about an injury but this one comes close. It was a shame that Coan was just going to be handed the job for a second season in a row.
  12. The conservative offense hurt him as much as it helped him because yards and TDs are a big component of passer rating. I watch enough college football to see that for all but about 15 or so teams he would start. You only see the big-time schools on national TV, and other than those top 15 schools he's as good or better than anybody else. Please name who he wouldn't start for, at least in the Big Ten. Ohio State Penn State Minnesota He’s probably right around the QB from Michigan. I think the homerism is showing true here.
  13. He was tied for 19th in the nation (with Sam Ehlinger) last year in passer rating, and at least four of the guys ahead of him are in the NFL. Only Fields and Morgan in the Big Ten were ahead of him and if Coan was on Minnesota I'd bet he would start over Morgan. Put Coan in Minnesota's offense and he'd have better numbers than Morgan. Sorry. Just don’t buy it. His passer rating was boosted by a very conservative passing attack that allowed for a higher completion percentage than if he would’ve been asked to throw the ball. I don’t think Coan is/was terrible. He just isn’t in the upper echelon of college QBs. This guy playing tonight will be. And it was a farce that he would’ve been held back by this coaching staff.
  14. Coan would start for all but about 15 DI schools. He's a very good QB... but Mertz is just a whole 'nother level. Sorry but this isn’t true. Top 15? No way. Either way, this Mertz guy wouldnt be playing even though anyone with eyeballs can see that he’s clearly the superior player.
  15. It still ticks me off that Coan (who is a normally fine Badger QB) played over him last year but even more so that the Badgers were going to start him over this kid this season. Absolute madness.
  16. Like I said. Hogwash. Air the friggin ball all over the field with this kid.
  17. Don't have the WR's to do that unfortunately. Hogwash. Let er rip.
  18. Time to turn the page on the conservative playbook and realize you have a stud back there. Cut er loose already! Edit: Now that’s more like it. Let the kid do his thing. This is so refreshing.
  19. We finally have a QB and it’s about damn time.
  20. Now list the players he's working with.
  21. Should that be in blue? Otherwise, it's such hyperbole. Hell, he had over 140 PA's this past season in a weird one, let alone having over 500 in 2019.
  22. Who will be the first to assume MA has $1.2 billion to spend on the payroll? Any takers?
  23. Found this interesting per Kyle Lesniewski: “Braun just finished his 14th consecutive season with an OPS+ over 100 and posted his best ISO since 2012, despite a career-low .232 BABIP.“ Pay the man!
  24. Except that Yelich is still very "movable" with his new contract. I don't see it that way. He lost the value he had once the pen hit the paper. On top of that, he was garbage this past season coming off a season-ending injury. It will take him proving he is fine next spring before he regains any sort of value to trade away.
