  1. No. Kinsler is no upgrade over what the Brewers currently have assuming Sogard is healthy again.
  2. It's the ball. And I'm certain the change is on purpose to spur more scoring. Anyone who plays competitive softball knows how easily changes in ball COR and compression can alter how far the ball travels.
  3. I think streak records are asinine. Production is what matters. Edit - Case in point: During Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak, Ted Williams outhit him .412 to .408 in batting average and Williams' OPS was 43 points higher during that span.
  4. I remember this incident vividly. I still chuckle when I think about it today.
  5. LF Andrew Toles left tonight's Dodgers game with a leg injury. For what it's worth...
  6. Good. I might watch this show now.
  7. I totally get why players might take a deal like this. $20 million is life changing money. Guaranteed. You never know when a career ending injury could occur. Or regress to a point where you only get 1 year minimum deals offered.
  8. TWiB The Baseball Bunch NBC's "game of the week" (I think it was Vin Scully and/or Joe G. calling the games) That was my Saturday routine circa 1981-83
  9. What evidence have you that Gabe Kapler used PED's? Honest question. None. Much was made of Braun working out with Kapler in the offseason before his MVP year & 2012. Not even saying guilt by association. Just saying that now that Braun isn't training with A-Rod & Kapler anymore he won't be in the "best shape of his life" Got it. I thought it was a PED reference. I know Kapler has been on the "suspicion list" due to his physique, but he's never been overtly implicated (that I know of anyway), and has strenuously denied use.
  10. What evidence have you that Gabe Kapler used PED's? Honest question.
  11. What does his father have to do with it? Is his father part of the potential ownership group?
  12. I think every time a team talks about a logjam at starting pitcher, someone gets hurt when the regular season begins (or before). Like clockwork. It could be a GEICO commercial. Pitchers get hurt. It's what they do.
  13. I made a correction. I'm not saying a convicted felon can't tell the truth, but the source is extremely suspect. Is there any independent corroboration for these allegations?
  14. Hopefully this change includes him never being within 500 feet of a televised golf tournament. Either as an announcer or as a player (Pebble Beach).
  15. After being a 10 year subscriber to DirecTV I dropped it after the NLCS/ALCS. My bill had bloated to over $120 a month (and that's without any premium channels). I'm also tired of funding ESPN. I'd love for the ESPN family of networks to implode. And based on their current trajectory that might happen. So now I'm going with OTA. I'll see how I feel when the Brewers season rolls around, but for now I don't miss a thing. When a company starts offering only the channels I want I'll get back in. I literally was watching only 5 channels on DirecTV (that I can't get OTA) so the rest was a waste. (The 5 being MLB, NFL, Golf Channel, History, Brewers games on FoxSports Wisconsin).
  16. Call the PC Police! Someone's being offensive! Is defensive hazing still allowed?
  17. I don't get people complaining about the dollars. At $5m AAV, Thames is now the 3rd highest paid Brewer--behind Garza in his final year and Braun soon to be traded. The Brewers aren't hurting for money right now (or at any time in the next 3 years).
  18. This one's for you, classless Brewer fans.
  19. This thread is weak. Win or lose, the Cubs are playing in the World Series and the Brewers are not. But if this is how you get your jollies, carry on.
  20. With the Cubs being in the same division, it means 19 regular season games. You should worry/ plan on a way of dealing with them. Otherwise very poor head to head results might prevent the Brewers from being in a race. See 2016 Tribe vs Tigers. It can be argued the lopsidedness of that outcome won the Tribe the AL Central and seriously impaired the Tigers chances at the Wild Card. I believe Tribe went 14-4 vs Tigers. The Brewers need to focus on building a winning team, regardless of opponent. Period.
  21. None of the 10 issues listed will hinder the Cubs from winning. Their management has the skill and resources to work around all of them. The good thing is that the Brewers don't need to overtake the Cubs during the regular season. There will still be plenty of opportunities to make the playoffs via the wild card. Once in, anything can happen. It worked well for the Red Sox vs. the Yankees during Theo's time in Boston. The Brewers just need to focus on their business and not worry about the Cubs. Edit - I checked the Rex Sox performance during Theo's time in Boston. They won the division only 1 time out of 9 seasons. Clearly you can build a winning team without winning divisions.
  22. Joe Blanton has not sucked in 2016. 80 IP 2.48 ERA 158 ERA+ 3.33 FIP 1.013 WHIP 9.0 K/9 2.9 BB/9
  23. The QO isn't the problem and should be kept. The problem is the signing team losing a pick. Just award a sandwich pick to the losing team and call it a day.
