  1. The “Mafia: Definitive Edition” comes out this week, I believe. I am pretty excited. I used to play the heck out of that game, modded it up, and everything. Recently, I re-installed it with some modern mods and it looks great, but I’m excited to get my hands on this update. Please don’t suck.
  2. YEAH!!! Someday, I'm hoping to see a launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket with astronauts aboard. That thing just takes off from the launch pad! I'd be curious to hear the astronaut's thoughts on a lift off and flight like that!
  3. For the most part, no. You could definitely watch Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad. However, there will also be characters and other things that you could understand MUCH better if you saw Breaking Bad first. That's just my opinion, though.
  4. Boardwalk Empire is an excellent show. I really liked it as well when it was on. Thumbs up for trying something different.
  5. Growing up, we went to Pizza Ville in Fond du Lac all the time. It was the best I ever had as a kid. I've went to Cranky Pat's a couple of times. It was also very good. I have to put a shout out to probably my all-time favorite: Mabe's Pizza in Decorah, IA (I believe there is one in Prairie du Chien, too, but it may have closed.) OMG, the BEST, Jerry. The BEST!
  6. Season 1 of Westworld was very good, I thought. Season 2 made me wonder what I was watching, because it seemed like it was all over the place.
  7. I'm trying to get my brother's game of Saints Row 4 to work properly. Running FRAPS we see he has frame rate of 5-6 FPS during the intro movies and the main menu, as well as the game itself. We put all the video settings at low, even though his computer easily exceeds the recommended specs. We've also deactivated the steam overlay, have it running as an administrator, etc. etc. In other words, we've done our due diligence of google searches for recommended fixes and tried them all. Interestingly, we put the game into windowed mode, and then alt-tabbed out of the game to check stuff and, suddenly, the FPS shot up into the 100s FPS! But as soon as he alt-tabs back into the game, it plummets back to 5-6 FPS. Frustrating to say the least! Any other ideas out there? Could there be something that is NOT video card related that could be "interfering" with the game running properly? I know this is a shot in the dark, asking here, but haven't received many hits in the forums for a 5+ year old game.
  8. For the record, I thoroughly laughed and enjoyed last week's episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". Probably because it was filled with sophomoric jokes and one-liners. A lot more than in recent episodes. I guess that tells you a lot about myself!
  9. I agree with this statement. When the show was on FOX, I would routinely have at least one or two loud belly-laughs per episode. This year, I've yet to really laugh much at all. A few giggles and that's been it.
  10. I wasn't sure which thread to put this in. But in case you missed it, Yelich appeared as himself (and as the NL MVP) in tonight's episode of "Magnum P.I." It was an okay appearance but he sported the Brewers cap and made my wife giggle like a school girl. Plus, he totally flirted with Higgins.
  11. Yeah, my wife and I saw Aquaman yesterday and were very impressed. It didn't have that normal DC "feel" to it (although I sensed it a couple of times.)
  12. Key word here is should. I do think it was the deciding factor between Braun and Kemp in 2011. To take it to the extreme example, do you think the World Series MVP can come from the losing team? I think this question is a good test to explain why many people prefer the MVP to come from a playoff team. I don't believe that has happened. BUT, if I remember correctly, Fred Lynn of the Angels won the ALCS MVP in '82 for the losing Angels team.
  13. "Turn: Washington's Spies" (which was the name of the show starting with season 2 or 3) actually ended up being very good. My wife and I almost quit after season one because, yeah, it was slow-developing and didn't seem to be going anywhere. The rest of the seasons got pretty good and led to a (in my opinion) great climax and conclusion to the series. If anybody gave up on it, I recommend giving it another shot.
  14. "This is Chuck, here to remind Bill to SHUT UP!" Cracks me up every time.
  15. I'm looking into trying that Playstation streaming service. As a PC gamer (don't own any consoles, unless you count my old Sega Saturn), I've always wanted to have Rockstar Games put Red Dead Redemption on PC. Since I don't think that's ever going to happen, I guess I could stream the game to my PC and play it that way. Anybody have any experience with their service? (Can't think of what it's called. . . Playstation Now? is that it?)
  16. I have asked in the past about flights since I live in Arizona . They do not give you any special sort of deal. In fact I asked if they would pay for my flight back to Milwaukee in the summer instead ( for the reunion) and they said no.
