  1. We’ve noticed this, too. And, yes, it seems to be only on our Roku. Very annoying—especially since it has never done this in the past.
  2. Have fun, everyone. I’ll be going on media blackout mode here in a bit and will watch the game when I get home after work. hopefully, nobody spoils things for me. (Doubtful here in Arizona, but it has happened before.)
  3. Nice win. Some thoughts: 1) I can't believe how poor our three starters threw the ball in this series. But sometimes it happens because . . . baseball. Our #4 and #5 starters may just throw 8 innings of great ball because, you know . . . baseball. 2) Bullpen looked much better today, with the exception of Cousins having trouble gripping the baseball, it seemed. 3) I'm not thrilled with depending on the long ball to score our runs. 4) A win is much better than two losses. I know @Brock Beauchamp asked for at least 94 more of these, but I'd rather we get about 105 more, which would be just about right for a World Series berth. Let's win some in Baltimore!
  4. Here's my guesses: Brewers 90 wins Cardinals 83 wins Cubs 75 wins Reds 70 wins Pirates 64 wins I don't know if I can really make guesses about individual player information.
  5. Personally, I cheer for 2:35 pm. Just kidding ? Good article!

  8. This is exactly right. Twins, Brewers, Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals, and Royals ALL claim good chunks of Iowa as "their" territory. SO glad that I don't live there anymore! It really sucked!
  9. I just saw this, too, and was coming to post it. And then I sat here thinking, “Is this real? Or are they planking us today?” _-edit- Planking is the new wave way of saying pranking, apparently. (or my phone did the auto-correct thing without me noticing)
  10. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/03/michael-conforto-suffered-shoulder-injury-in-january.html
  11. I really couldn't stand Roy Howell. I can look back and appreciate what he did bring to the team (and the expectations placed upon him when he signed) but, as a youngster, I was constantly brought down by his rally killing outs when he would play in a game that I would attend. He was the epitome of a Brewer player that I didn't mind missing his at-bat to go use the bathroom. Maybe that's mean. But it's the memory I have of him.

  13. Maybe I missed this elsewhere in the thread, but tonight I heard on mlb radio that Conforto is having trouble signing because he hurt his shoulder diving for a ball while doing some drills in January. Scott Boras told him not to sign until he’s healthy so he can get the best deal that he can at that time.
  14. It did not help that St. Peter's just couldn't hit a bucket early in the game, despite some very good looks. The ball just didn't go in the hole, and UNC ran with it. By the time the Peacocks were able to finally start scoring more regularly, it was far too late. Their defense is still very good, but North Carolina has hit its stride and has been red-hot.
  15. @Outlander stated the same thing that I was going to say. With a 28-man roster for (at least) the month of April, I think it is now a given that Huira will make the opening day roster. How long he stays will be in his hands, while also accounting for any player(s) who start the season in a major slump. I am hopeful he has fixed things. Outside of that first home run game, in which I was skeptical and was still seeing the leg kick, I have seen less and less of any leg kick from him, which I think may be the key. The question remains how fast his bat will be when he faces big league pitchers in games that actually matter, rather than the 12th-string relievers he has faced so far. (Okay, not all of them were scrubs/minor leaguers.)
  16. I commented on this article yesterday (before it must have been pulled?) so I'll repeat my comment: My wife and I have already made a pact to listen to more Uecker this season: every home game in which Brian Anderson is not on the call will be a "Uecker" game for us. Thankfully, we can change the audio on the MLB.TV app on our Roku to make this seamless.

  18. I couldn’t tell you for sure, but I’d have to imagine it was close to 1000-to-1. (Well, I was wrong, since I found an article saying someone will win $800k if they win the national title on a BetMGM wager at 200-to-1 odds.)
  19. The MLB offseason was certainly an interesting one. I’m sure many of us had the same thoughts, “Will there be a season?” “If there is a season, how many games will be played?” As a Brewers fan, one of my big concerns was if the lockout would rob me of listening to a true National Treasure, Bob Uecker. Luckily, all was resolved and Brewer fans will have another season of Mr. Baseball on the radio. Image courtesy of Benny Sieu/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel The MLB offseason was certainly an interesting one. My first Brewers memories are from the early 80s. Living in Green Bay, in a time before Regional Sports Networks, there weren’t many Brewers games on TV so I relied on the radio for my Brewers fix. Bob Uecker was the voice of my childhood. From Harvey’s Wallbangers to Jaime Cocanower starts, from a 13-0 start to a season (Including a Juan Nieves no-hitter, caught by Bill Schroeder) to Paul Molitor’s 39-game hit streak, "Ueck" was there to narrate it all. As I grew older, Ueck was always there, every summer, like clockwork. He was there for Robin’s 3000th, the John Jaha home runs, through the lean years of the late 90s and early 2000’s. He’s been there through the Crew’s resurgence and multiple playoff appearances. As a child, then as a teen, and now as an adult, Bob Uecker has been there every summer. Here’s the thing though, nothing lasts forever. The reality is, we don’t know how much longer Uecker will be calling baseball games. That’s why last season, I made an effort to listen to more Brewers games via radio. This year I’ll be doing the same. Baseball, more than any other sport, is conducive to the radio. There are few things better than relaxing outside on a summer evening, burgers on the grill, a cold beverage in hand, and listening to baseball on the radio. We’re able to picture the action as it's narrated to us. There is is no question that the Brewers TV crew is a talented bunch. Brian Anderson is a National broadcasting star. Rock and Sophia are great, but Mr. Baseball won’t be around forever. As Brewers fans, let’s soak up every second. Turn on the radio instead of the TV. I can hear it now... "it’s the bottom of the 9th at Am Fam Field. There’s a man on and the Crew is down by one run. Christian Yelich gets a hold of one…then that familiar call, “Get up, get up, get outta here, GONE!” Do you have any Bob Uecker stories to share? Have you ever had the opportunity to meet him? What are your favorite lines from "Ueck"? Please share in the COMMENTS below. View full article
  20. And a homer later in the game. He’s starting to look good again. But it IS spring training, so I’m still a bit skeptical. It IS a nice start, though, and gives me some hope (springs attorney)
  21. Eh, at least they're inquiring. I mean, at least they're not saying, "Nah, we're good."
  22. It's an interesting idea. When they got their exemption a hundred years ago, it kind of made sense. Now? Probably not. I would be curious to see what comes of this, if anything. I think that I would be in favor of it, even though it really wouldn't affect me or any other typical or hardcore fan very much.
  23. This is absolute trash!!!! (boy, if the blue font didn't work, I might be banned for the next couple of days . . . )
  24. Hmm, things are looking a little dicey. Some pressing to score, some refs being whistle-happy (both ways, thankfully), and just some poor shooting. They’ve got a half of a half to get it figured out, or it’s curtains.
  25. As expected, a pretty ugly first half. Looked to me like Davis was trying the ol’ “put the team on my shoulders and try to win this game all by myself” for a little while. Chucky’s injury looked bad. Guys need to step up.
