  1. I've got the dual tuner directivo going with Packers on one channel and Brewers on the other. Oh, and audio will be Uecker and Powell. television will be muted (except during Brewers commercials, or it becomes a blowout [HOPEFULLY IN THE BREWERS FAVOR, BASEBALL GODS!])
  2. wasn't there a thread about this just the other day? anyways, I'd rather play the D-backs, due to our success this season and they match up well with us, in my opinion.
  3. I know that this is football talk and likely to get locked, but I'll give a big "YAY!" before this gets locked.
  4. that's very interesting. Funny, too. At least it didn't cost us a game. But I'm sure somebody out there in Wisconsin (not neccessarily BF.net) thinks that this blunder by Ned is the reason we lost and he should be fired.
  5. and the Cards have the tying run on 3rd with one out in the 8th. Dbacks pen has been "Brewer Bad" lately.
  6. quick question: I thought you could only "revise" your post-season roster in-between rounds if there was an injury. Is this not true anymore? I'm almost positive that that used to be the rule.
  7. they also traded away Chris Young because their Brian Anderson was going to be the second coming of centerfielders. Oops.
  8. I read the title and thought you meant the "College World Series" . As for the Sox, this is kind of what I was talking about in another thread regarding the Brewers in the future. Nobody knows how we are "really" going be for the next 5 years. There are hopes that we will win alot of games. But it's just not a guarantee in baseball. The White Sox are legit proof of that. Personally, I think they'll be fine and will be contenders again next season.
  9. well, I guess if you're going to do it, do it now when you're young. Us guys in their 30s have no shot to do something like that because our lives are, for the most part, established. Until our inevitable mid-life crisis, at least. Good luck, if that's what you choose to do.
  10. wow, that's kinda cruel. Zambrano and ARam probably "deserve" to be hit the most, just because of the way they express themselves in big moments. Derek Jeter probably could use it, too. Never liked him. Don't understand the Cabrera (Miguel?) punk thing.
  11. I don't know about that. We're 5-1 in our last six and really starting to play solid baseball again, like we did at the beginning of the year. It's almost like that series in SF woke us up again. I know we lost 2 or 3 in Chicago, but darn if they didn't play really well all three games and nearly won 2 (or almost all 3!). I'll predict we win 2 in CIN, 2 in PIT (shocker there!), 2 vs CIN, 1 in HOU, 2 in ATL, 2 vs STL, and 2 vs SD. That puts us at 84-78, I think. No prediction on Cubs or Cards. I don't care what they do. Okay, that's not true. I just don't feel like making predictions about them. But I do think 84 wins can seriously win this division.
  12. darn it, Kent ripped that one but right at Soriano (okay, a few steps to his left, but still) C'mon Dodger's pen 1-2-3
  13. Dodgers threatening in the 5th. 1st & 3rd, one out.
  14. jeez a base hit on the first pitch. Well, this season was fun to watch but now it's officially OVER! :-)
  15. I'm really torn about Sheets pitching the final game on Sept. 30th. Obviously, he'd sit if we've got a playoff spot clinched. But if we're still trying to win or tie for the division title, obviously he's the man on the mound. But then, he wouldn't pitch until game 3 or maybe even 4 of the Division Series (I don't know exactly where those LDS games fall after that final Sunday, so I could be way off).
  16. game over only a 1/2 game back, boys!
  17. double play. 1-3 (almost 1 unassisted!) Cubs have hit into 5 double plays tonight!
  18. leadoff walk to Derosa. Come Saito!
  19. nice edit: and Soriano just throws out Russell Martin at the plate trying to tag up on a medium depth fly out to left. 6-2 Dodgers, though.
  20. Dodgers with the bases drunk and nobody out in the 8th
  21. ugh, 3-2 Dodgers in the 6th. Tying run on 2nd base.
  22. "what is with all the criticism of the fans?" is the question and here is my answer (not neccessarily the correct answer): The Brewers haven't been to the playoffs in 25 years and haven't really come close to making it in 15 years. You could argue about a few years in the late 90s but, really, they weren't close. Now, the team is poised to make a move and the team chalks up some unbelievable losses despite having them theoretically won. That would frustrate any fan, to be sure. But with the Brewers having their chance (maybe their only chance--we know the future looks good but ANYTHING can happen) to make a run it just becomes more and more critical as we move into September to be winning games and giving the team the best chance to win. We all know about yesterday's questionable moves. I hope that with Mark A. in the stands to see what developed and to hear how frustrated the fans are with the team taking another loss when they should have won, he will understand a bit more. Fifteen years without coming close to the playoffs=frustration. A team that looks like it will make it sixteen years= double secret frustration I hope to goodness graciousness that we'll stay in it all the way to the end of the month (and I really think they will). But the fans have the right to grumble when the team flushes away another win that gets us closer to that goal. Players are human and I know they're going to make mistakes, but still . . . .
  23. but wasn't it save situation for Aquino anyways (assuming he'd then pitch the ninth, of course)? So why wouldn't he bring in Cordero there?
  24. Yost: "Pence hits 70 points higher vs. lefties this year" as his reasoning for bringing in Aquino. This from the same man who just a few days ago let Mench hit against Dempster when Jenkins hits considerably better against him
  25. not to mention, I would think Rickie and Bill would be swinging at those sliders in the dirt low and away from Oswalt.
