  1. Nermal from the Garfield series? or some other Nermal that I've never heard of?
  2. Congrats, by the way! I liked the old site but this will simplify things alot! Thanks for all the work you do for these wonderful sites.
  3. fantasy football. that's what bugs me. I haven't added things up yet--it's early--but this is the third year in a row that I've been the #1 seed in a very competitive 14-team league and I am in jeopardy of losing my first round playoff game for the third year in a row. Why on earth do my players just disappear when we hit week 14?????
  4. and. . . . . everybody loses (no Quentin trade mentioned)! sorry, had to do it!
  5. I, too, totally forgot about the game and missed it completely. Wow, down at halftime and then looks like they completely dominated the 2nd half. Nice! Is Duke on Monday or Tuesday?
  6. yup, and if I remember correctly, Boston was very reluctant to take him. Or at least the fans were.
  7. Jamesian people were correct--until Lowell was traded to Boston. His final year plus in Florida was abysmal at age 30-31, just like James says. He had one of those rare career resurrections in Chowder-land, thanks to being surrounded by superstars and being given many many chances for RBIs. Did Boston overpay? Perhaps. We'll see how he plays, I guess. Overall, I think it's a good signing.
  8. Got a recipe book from Hawaii regarding drinks. Gotta say. . . yummy! I'm drunk, but here I am checking my spelling and everything while I down Mai Tai after Mai Tai. Jeez, I'm drunk.
  9. very interesting about the tearing down Wrigley Field angle and moving them to the suburbs. Wow!
  10. what about those games that aren't being televised? would they use the "stadium feed" for the replays? We all know that the "stadium feed" is not the best as far as production values, so that could work against Instant Replay.
  11. that is pretty cool to see and hear but I'm attaching a HUGE "uh, yeah" to it as it won't happen.
  12. yup, just heard Ken Rosenthal make the announcement. Very nice. Too bad for Pete Mackinin (sp?). I thought he had done a pretty good job. Guess we can chalk up Harang and Arroyo for 250+ IP next year.
  13. mothership, I guess I'm the 2nd person you know that has never even tried coffee. Never have, probably never will. It just doesn't interest me. Caffeine, in general, doesn't interest me.
  14. Dat, nice Weird Al reference. I want to second 19's comment about holding in sneezes. My wife does it all the time and it bugs the crap out of me. You are so right about the sinus trouble. She wonders why she has it and won't listen to me tell her to just sneeze. It's like she thinks she's being rude or something. EVERYONE SNEEZES, DEAR! Let 'er fly!
  15. ugh, color me unthrilled about that list, if that is really what we'd be going after. Maybe Doug's thinking the trade route?
  16. anybody notice JJ Hardy in the Aquafina commercial with Lou Pinella? Cool.
  17. makes sense. I really know little about my credit score, except that it's very good. I just figured the more lines of credit you open the more "careless with money" it would appear to credit bureaus.
  18. well, Al, I guess next time I get a telemarketer on the phone or get one of those countless junk mails to get a credit card I should apply so I have a $0 balance credit card for next October. I have a hard enough time paying my credit cards (the few that I have) now. I see your reasoning, but doesn't having a card with an open account but no balance accrued hurt your credit rating?
  19. is this a contest or what? otherwise, I don't see the point of this. So we can show off to each other? At least make it interesting. that said, I'll go: CLE over NYY 3-1 ANA over BOS 3-2 ARZ over CHC 3-0 (I can hope) PHI over COL 3-2 ARZ over PHI 4-3 ANA over CLE 4-3 ARZ over ANA 4-3
  20. I don't know which one had more tears for me: Jenkins leaving the field after his potential last-game with the Brewers or Luis Gonzalez leaving the field in his last-game for the D-Backs last year
  21. at least we get to play in extra innings. And, SHOCKER OF ALL SHOCKS! Ned is using Cordero in a NON-SAVE situation!
  22. well, I see this will be the shortest IGT of the season. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still watching the game. Might even post in here, too.
  23. probably didn't help that half the month he wasn't in the lineup so Joe Dillon could play
  24. I guess we'll find out next year, huh? If we stink next year, yeah, then I think the point can be made that nothing was accomplished this year. If we do very well and win the division, I think it was a very important 2007 campaign. I do know that I will NOT be celebrating when/if we start out to a big lead again, though.
